Its been a while since i've flashed or changed roms as the last Samsung device i was getting this deeply into was a Galaxy S5.
Sister went back to iPhone and gave me a Verizon Note8. it works with my sim card but i'd like to flash it to either a Tmob rom or carrier less rom. looking around i've seen different odins to run, different rom files how to flash back and forth and that it could be bricked if done incorrectly.
this is the current details on my note

if you could provide me the details on which odin, rom and such to flash to complete either tmob rom or carrier less rom i will paypal you 20 bucks.

IN the past, we have been able to easily flash roms made for International phones on TMO Devices.
The S5 was the best because the two phones were nearly identical and you could flash any international ROM on a TMO PHONE>
That is not the case now with the NOTE 4 and I hope someone can figure out a fix.
I flashed ECHO a new rom on Inrternational today and at first it wouldnt boot - so I switched the Boot Image with a TMO Kernel Boot Image and then I was able to flash - unfortunately DATA did work. (WIFE WORKS FINE)
When I tried to add my APNS - the eror message I got was 'Insert a Valid Sim". So I am at a a loss and hopeful that someone who is smarter than me can figure out what we need to do to flash International ROMS on N910t.
Aside from having to change the Kernel to a TMO Kernal - something else has to happen so the SIM Card is recognized. (after flashing ECHO, when I went to About Phone/Status - there was no IMEI number listed - which is, I am sure, at the root of the problem)
(FYI - I tried inserting a APN XML from a working TMO ROM and that didn't help at all) that was the only thing I could think of - obvious that I am not a dev, right?
So anyway - I am hoping someone has some ideas and can figure out what we need to do to make this work.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Just a guess: the rom you installed included a modem? AFAIK, you really never want to switch modems from the one you have from your carrier. If you have a nandroid you could try restoring your old original modem from it if that is the problem.

Does anybody know of a data fix i can flash on my n901w8 note 4. Ive been trying to get a visionx rom going on my phone, but the phone keeps insisting i dont have a sim card. I was able to get service, but the phone kept losing it every few minutes. Hoping someone has a solution to this problem, because it seems every custom rom i flash has a data issue and my phone carrier hardly works with it (wind).
This has been discussed on many note 4 forums over the past couple of weeks.... until recently Canadians did not get the 5.1.1 firmware for our device which means the bootloader and baseband for other carriers were not compatible to ours. This is one of the first 5.1.1 custom roms released for n910w8 that I am aware of http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/moving-please-dont-post-t2943845 and I'm almost certain there are Developers who are already customizing roms based on this new release. I'd suggest you check in to the T-mobile note 4 forums from time to time.. Good!
I think T-Mo might have done some stuff to the network recently, not sure what happened but suddenly I cannot make calls. Data is fine, but when I try to call it goes "Dialing.." but won't connect.
is there a way to flash T-Mo rom or anything to try?
Thanks.
Tried a SIM card from another carrier?
No, you cannot flash a stock T-mobile ROM to the 900a but you may be able to flash a custom ROM based on a stock T-Mobile ROM.
Thread moved to proper forum.
I received a free Samsung S6 Edge from some friends. The phone had a busted battery which I fixed. The phone is still on the original 5.1.1 that the phone was released with.
When I try to do updates it says DM initialization not ready. Check network or SIM card. When I received the phone I was told it doesn't work with cell service. I checked to make sure and it definitely doesn't. There are no options for cell service in settings or the drop-down menu. This phone is missing IMEI numbers, IMEISV numbers, and baseband versions too. The only way I found out the IMEI number was it was printed on the back of the phone.
I am fairly certain the problems are software-based and not the motherboard but I don't know enough about phones to be sure. Do you guys know? I also want to remove AT&T from the phone to install a custom ROM on the device. (There is no OEM unlock in the developer options) Can I flash SM-925F firmware on the device to make it factory unlocked or will this brick the device? Will flashing the original SM-925A firmware fix the problems with the device? Please let me know if you need any more information to answer my question.
I found this: //G925A\\ Nougat 7.0.1 Latest Stock ATT Odin files G925AUCS7ERC1 | XDA Developers Forums (xda-developers.com) Should I flash this on my device? Will it fix any of the problems I had on it?
Can I flash the SM-925F firmware? Is the hardware of the factory unlocked phone and AT&T versions the same or will it brick this phone if I flash it?
Since the phone is AT&T you'll have to go through AT&T for the unlock codes before you can flash anything other than an AT&T ROM. To my knowledge there are no custom ROMS for the S6 Edge, but I could be mistaken.

I know this phone is old news however, I actually have the S6 and S7 edge lying around and so i got bored lol...here is my dilemma; Evidently the phone (S6 Edge G925A) had an abnormal factory reset, which is a load of BS, and now I can not get that security detail, which you know calling Samsung always ends to NO AVAIL!! I have flashed with Odin the firmware that my device is on the ERC1 firmware and still I get stuck @abnormal reset. I've searched numerous sites, different forums and still to no avail. Something told me inside that you was the man to drop a line to, any leads or info will be more than appreciated brother...Thanks for your time....
PSSS....
I got my unlock code from AT&T some time ago but the code is 16 digits long and code only takes 8 digits, and of course to hear AT&T tell it, " I simply must not putting the code in correctly"...lmao
I got a s21 ultra smg998b version with region of Pakistan. But ota updates in my country are extremely slow.So I was wondering if I can flash a stock ROM of different region like some country of Europe using Odin so that I can get updates faster.
I will be flashing ROM of same model of smg988b but idk if I can flash a rom of different region. If anyone got any idea about this let me know
in Xiaomi phones you can do it, a small subgroup of Xiaomi users actually do this because the China Rom comes clean, with some new features and you only need to put up with some annoying chinnese text every once in a while.
I would recommend backing up all of your phone data, know and have the OFW ROM that came with your phone, ideally take it directly from your phone (dont know if this is even posible but yeah) and search for a video of someone installing a ROM on your exact phone to do it like him
