IMPOSSIBLE to bypass mobile banking root check - Magisk

Hello!
I'm trying to bypass the root check for this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ro.btrl.pay
however it's impossible I swear. I use Magisk Hide, no xposed, safetynet passes
If anyone manages to do it I'll be forever grateful. You can try to bypass it, the check is done on start so you don't have to log in

Yes

There are some apps that search for "Magisk" in the app name and trigger on that. But, there are plans on making MagiskHide change that as well... You could test if this is the case for this app by simply uninstalling the Magisk Manager and see if the app opens or not.

That means it's likely that the app looks for "Magisk" in the app make. There are plans to counter that in a future version of the Manager.

This one is also impossible
I need help with Japanese baking (digital token) app, it detects root with Magisk installed.
This is the app name: パスワードカード from 株式会社三井住友銀行
I tried using Magisk Hide, the SafetyNet passed, Magisk Hide props, Repacking Magisk Manager, USB debugging is off, Developer Options off. All that was done in conjunction and individually, forcing close the app and cleaning the app storage.
I also uninstalled Magisk completely and did not work. the only thing I have not tried is closing the bootloader.
This is the phone I'm using.
Model: OnePlus 5T
Android version: 9.0.5 stock OxigenOS (also 9.0.5) with April security patch
Magisk: version 19.1
Magisk Manager: version 7.1.2

Try https://github.com/Ingan121/UDSBypass.
Edit: root is properly hidden without this script. Tested on Galaxy S7 (SM-G930L) 8.0 with Magisk 19.2 (currently same as 19.1).

My banking app is not starting bc xposed installed

Guys I need your help. My banking app won't start since it is finding xposed framework installed. Since it is Android OS I don't believe there is no way to change it. I have marshmallow 6.0.1 and the app is vr banking (https://www.vr-banking-app.de/service/hookinghinweis.html). I checked xprivacy and blocked there all except Internet access but either it didn't work or I did smt false.

There is no way to hide Xposed, you'll have to remove it or use something like rootswitch to temp disable it with a soft reboot

As an alternative to what Matt has suggested, you could use SuperSU and suhide in combination with Root Switch and Xposed. All required information can be found in the suhide thread here on XDA. Just search for it.

A little surprised by this. What kind of security does the bank use? Are there no security ID system connected to the German state? In Sweden there's Bank-ID for computers, Mobilt bank-ID for smartphones. Authorities, banks and other companies use it. Banks are indirectly required to by law since +1 year. No login by just a simple ATM like code allowed anymore.
A last resort, if everything else fails, is to simply change bank.
[Written by my thumbs on a state-of-the-art Nokia 3110.]
All my banking apps threw errors and I installed Root Cloak module and added them there. And things were good.
But then an e-wallet app showed error "app has been hooked by 3rd party app" because it was checking Root as well as Xposed. so a XDA member wrote a module which just returns 'No' when the app checks fro Xposed.
You can try a similar thing. here's the thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-freecharge-unblocker-t3511904
Hey there,
I just found this thread and got the exact same problem.
A few weeks/months ago, my banking app (VR Banking as described in OP) started crashing
if XPosed was installed. They tell you something about security, but it works fine with root and uninstalled XPosed.
There already was a link to this thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/xposed-freecharge-unblocker-t3511904)
providing a seemingly working solution for another app.
VR Banking seems to react to installed XPosed-binary AND installed Xposed-App, but isn't it possible to hook into the checking-process
and just return true/false ("everything is fine")?
Don't want to switch my bank because of this (although their policy of accepting root but not xposed is 100% ridiculous)
as it seems like such an easy solution. I already PM'd a developer of a module that hides root from certain bank app, but sadly no response yet...
Same problem here with another bank/country and MM (cm13).
The problem is only xposed manager itself. As soon as have it installed (even without framework) the bank app stops. Root only (cm or supersu) is not a problem.
I tried magisk + systemless root + systemless xposed (framework) + hide apps (like rootcloak, anrc,...) and no success. Bank always find the xposed manager (probably because I couldn't hide it completely).
We need a better general hide everything xposed solution. Hope some developer can work on that. Maybe magisk can be the way.

Just a quick thought to add to the mix... specifically for your banking app, have you tried the Sudohide Xposed module? It allows you to hide any app from any other app. I'm not sure at which level it happens in the boot process, but for your scenario, it's worth a try. You could just hide the Xposed manager app from the banking app and see if it works.
Let us know if it does!
Hi,
I gave it a quick try:
SudoHide Xposed Installer from VR Banking App and Rootcloak for VR Banking App, but the app still detects it on open.
SudoHide lists only Xposed Installer, no other Xposed app/module.

I have the same problem, and it seems that german banking apps are somewhat stupid.
Root is allowed (which can be done by almost everybody), but xposed is denied, because PRO developers might hack their sh1tty apps with hooks...?

PokemonGO won't work with Magisk

I'm using ResurrectionRemix Rom on my LG G3 Beat and Pokemon GO v. 0.67.2 and as soon as I install Magisk (used MagiskHide and tried many things) v. 12 or v. 13 beta it stops working. My device passes SafetyNet so it should not be a issue. Someone having this issue too? How can I fix that?
Edit: I finally found the issue. It's KernelAdiutor.

Why do you use a pogo version that isn't forced yet? 0.67.1 works totally fine.
No need to update, especially not, if you don't know what the update contains and what it is doing.
Go to magisk settings and then to tick the "core only mode" checkbox. Reboot and you are done.
Google has strenghten SN policies and now Magisk modules functionality makes you fail SN check. The temporary solution is to disble all modules related functionality following the steps above.

Tried both 0.67.1 and 0.67.2 and they start up just fine on Magisk v13.0 (54e6a79) beta, OnePlus 3T, OxygenOS 4.1.6, Franco Kernel r24 and nothing else done except having enabled Magisk Hide. Does Resurrection Remix have ro.build.tags set to "release-keys" (and so on)?

When is safetynet needed?

I want to use a few xposed modules but it causes magisk to no longer pass safetynet check.Using "magisk core only mode" lets it pass but disables xposed. I know I need safetynet check when I log into snapchat, but what else is it needed for? Am I able to disable it when I need to re-log into snapchat etc, then re-enable it after that?

Some banking apps need it. If none of your other apps stop working then nothing. Safetynet is only needed for apps that require it.

Barclays banking app

I have installed the canary build as suggested by other people then used magiskhide to hide the banking app. I have also hidden the magisk app but still detects root.
Any other ideas?
Anyone got the barclays app working?
You need to hide magisk manager too inside its options. When you hide it (the option to hide is inside Magisk Manager) the app will be renamed Manager only
https://imgur.com/gallery/3Cc9ELx
Add Rootbeer to the Hide list as well, so you know for sure that MagiskHide is working as it should. If MagiskHide works all checkmarks should be green.

In other words it's a part of your system and you won't be able to use the app until you figure that out (I've tested Barclays and Magisk can hide from it just fine). Could be the kernel that's installing it, as an example. If you're using a custom ROM and/or a custom kernel, ask for advice there.
And why the double posting in the general thread? As you see your just getting the same answers, and also adding noise...

Sounds like it's the ROM then. And, Busybox would be a likely suspect. I'd start by removing it...

push TAN - app detecting root

The Problem:
The App detects the device is rooted and thus redirects to a browser with a message saying it can not be run on a rooted device etc.

It works once the Magisk app is deleted

How could I have Magisk installed and still have the push TAN app work?

The p10 lite warsaw WAS-LX1A working well with it. I just had to downgrade the Stock ROM from 8.0.0C432B398 to B378 for headshot the build number error. The settings in magisk should be clear for every one...i think
So first I reboot TWRP and clear Cache and Dalvik. Reboot to System and adjust magisk (hide and repack) the repack needs a little while so just keep cool and wait. Then install the pushtan App Version 1.50. ask Google for apk. Or pm me and I send you This is the last that working for me. My different magisk version I use was 19.3 phh, 20,4 phh and one for Android 11. that is moddet for huawei p10 lite. Take a look in xda forum and you will find it. If the normal magisk for A11 running on your device then use it. On huawei we need the mod one.
So now the apk was installed you first open magisk and choose pushtan in hide Option. Then reboot to TWRP and delete Cache and Dalvik again. After that you can reboot to System...fingerscross could not be wrong in this moment hihi...now the great moment is coming. Start the app and your Facial expression would show if it work or not for me it does.
Hmmm Warum schreibe ik eigentlich english bei ner Sparkassen App xD
So good luck for you

Use Magisk Canary, use Hide Magisk for "S-pushTAN", Repack Magisk with another name like "Manager" f.e. , get the App "Airfrozen" and freeze Magisk Manager with it.
After this steps you can use "S-pushTAN" without any problems.
If its still not working after that, make sure everything named "Magisk" like ZIPs or Folders are deleted.

Thank you very much! Now it works.
Renaming the App and Airfrozen is the key.

Nice, glad I could help. If you dont use "S-pushTAN" anymore you can simply unfreeze Magisk.
