can't install twrp - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

odin says it has succeeded. but when i try, the tablet boots into stock recovery. usb debugging is enabled. it has no oem unlock option.
there's a blue "secure download: enabled" message. it has to be that. people say it works even with this message. but mine doesn't.
sm-t810 here running nougat. any idea?
EDIT: do i need to have root access? because i haven't rooted yet.

nvm. i got it. i had to turn off auto reboot in odin.

[Q] BootLoader unlocked, Flashed TWRP successfully, Recovery Boot up failed though.

As it says in the title I've already unlocked and flashed several times (downloaded multiple versions of TWRP to see if it was just the download itself, as well as checking the MD5 to see if it was corrupt.) I flash it it gives the usual partition message when I go to boot recovery I just get a Bootup failed. Lost as to what to do from here. Trying to root my phone. My phone still works as I'm able to use it atm but I don't know what else to do.
It seems if I reboot, and try going into recovery then it doesn't give me a bootup failed message but I get the android icon where he fell over and has the red triangle coming out of his chest.
Dunno if this is part of the issue but my phone isn't being detected as a adb device either, and there's not ADB debugging option to enable under developer setting just usb debugging which is enable. The drivers are install so I know it's not a driver issue.

Phone Not Working after failed Root

First off, sorry if this is the wrong section for this.
Basically, I tried rooting my phone (Galaxy S6 SM-G920T) using KingRoot, and it got to 20% and shut off. Now on boot I get "KERNAL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING, CUSTOM BINARY BLOCKED BY FRP LOCK"
I'd appreciate if someone could let me know whether or not there is a fix for this.
Thanks.
Kingroot is not for the Tmobile variant. You need to download Odin onto your computer and flash TWRP and Unikernel (unikernel will root the phone).
I would suggest you restore your phone to factory status by downloading Samsung Kies software.
Once that completes then enable Developer options and turn on OEM and allow USB debugging.
Then once you've done that, use the Odin to root the device and install recovery.

I am also curious will this trip Knox?.. I'm assuming anything involving odin is an automatic yes?.
Yes All Rooting trips knox
Do you need to turn on OEM unlocking?

Been searching all day and found this and am curious if it works on the EPF1 build of the s6. I keep hearing that my bootloader is locked and it will brick my device so just wanted some confirmation that someone has done this with the same phone and build that i have and that it works without messing anything up. thanks in advance

It works, because I was on stock before I rooted. You have to unlock your OEM bootloader using steps 5 and 6 that I mentioned, or you will soft-brick your phone.

I know for sure it works because I did it the wrong way, and found out the right way. When you Unlock OEM, it unlocks your FRP (Factory Reset Protection). Without that being unlocked, you will be in a bootloop with the Samsung splash screen with the words FRP Locked (or something similar) at the top left hand corner until you flash the stock ROM from Sammobile via Odin.
Without following the steps I prescribed, you will soft-brick your phone, and ultimately, you will lose all data and information saved on your phone anyway. Unlocking it will remove the FRP lock so that when you reboot after rooting with CF-Auto-Root, you can log into your phone as usual (fingerprint, password, PIN, etc.) rather than being met with that Samsung splash screen.

Yes
No, it just installs root.
This does not automatically flash TWRP for you, it's something you have to do yourself.

I know it doesnt automatically flash TWRP i was asking how i would flash twrp afterwards. I guess it would have to be odin since you cant flash it from the phone without a custom recovery. Also, again just trying to clarify, your build number had EPF1 when you did this also?

Go to the TWRP website and find the latest build number, or download the TWRP Manager app on the Play Store and you can download and flash it from there.
Yes, my ROM was STOCK OTA.

Yes it will.
I took the 6.0.1 OTA Update. So is this what I need to do?
First, download 6.0.1 from like the site Sammobile and Flash via ODIN and should I check or uncheck Auto reboot?
Than once I flashed than follow all 13 steps given in post #7 of this thread
Once I followed the 13 steps than flash TWRP? Should I flash via ODIN or recovery? If in ODIN should check or unchecked Auto reboot?
Once I got TWRP than install Super SUPER SU from Play Store

Grand Prime FRP lock and root problem!

So I tried to root my device using Kingo root first but after 73% it failed to root the device.
Then I tried to do it manually. First I tried to install TWRP but even it failed and some green notice appeared in recovery mode saying "Custom binary FRP lock on" or something like that (Cannot remember the exact phrase.)
Then again I searched and found out this bypassing apk and tried to off the FRP lock and it was successfully done and after that I booted the TWRP even that was successfully completed (as the odin said) :fingers-crossed:
But when I tried to boot to TWRP mode it gave some kind of error message and again I went in to the same old stock recovery mode. That means booting the TWRP wasn't successful as odin mentioned and then I noticed again "FRP lock ON".
What is the solution for this problem? I seriously need to root this device but I don't want to use pre rooted firm wares cause it will give base band problems and such things! Any solutions guys? :highfive:
Doesn't anyone have a proper solution for this?

It is SM-G531F Model!

Then it turn off FRP
It works for me ??

I am an idiot.

SM-G920TUVU3EPD1
Galaxy s6 with t-mobile, 6.0.1 Marshmallow
I used cf autoroot, and Odin to gain root access, then installed SuperSu. I then been downloaded Wi-Fi tether router and I was quite happy with myself, got it all up and running.
I then made the fatal error of going into my developer options and turning off OEM Unlocking... ****.
At this point I'm stuck in a boot loop getting the notification "Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock".
What I have tried:
Factory restoring through the recovery menu, doesn't have any effect
Flashing stock firmware through Odin (Nand write failure)
Flashing a custom recovery environment (TWRP) through Odin (FRP Lock blocked this flash)
ADB and Fastboot cannot recognize the device
Tried to use Kies 3 and Smart Switch to "re-initialize" my OS or something. Both failed, saying that my phone wasn't compatible, and that my serial number was invalid (it was, in fact, correct)
I'll try it out with the stock 6.0.1 Marshmallow I'm downloading right now, but I'm out of my depth. Any advice would be verrrryyy much appreciated
ADB and Fastboot depend on USB debugging being turned on in developer settings. I'm not sure exactly where you went wrong, although I must say I'm frustrated with people using apps because they're "easy", and not taking the time to read up and do things properly.
Why would you turn off OEM Unlocking? Sounds like you were messing with something because you didn't know what it did.
What version of Odin are you using? If you aren't using 3.10 at the minimum, I'm going to slap you with a large trout.
Download latest version of Odin (currently 3.12.something). Download a stock EPD1 image. Put device in download mode and connect to your computer; ensure it is seen by Odin, then flash the image using the AP slot. Let phone reboot, boot up, and settle. Once booted and stable, enable Dev settings and turn OEM unlock as well as USB Debugging on. Reboot to download mode, and flash TWRP, again using AP slot. At that point you will be free to flash the custom ROM of your choice (as long as it's Marshmallow) or root the stock image you flashed.
No more messing with things you don't understand; next time I'll slap you with something bigger than a trout. Like a tiger. And tigers tend to be quite displeased with being swung by their tails, as well as being used as a cudgel.
