Headphone/Headset symbol missing? - Nokia 8 Questions & Answers

Hey,
do you have an headphone or headset icon when you plugin a headphone or headset? Both are missing for me and i wonder whether it is from the category "It's not a bug, it's a feature" or if it's simply broken.

You have to activate it via system ui tuner in the status bar section.
To activate system ui tuner press continuously the gear symbol in the notification drawer on the main screen till it show you a message that ui tuner has been activated. Then head to settings -> system -> ui tuner at the bottom -> status bar and enable headset

Hi,
can we change the toggle functions in the status bar? I would like to have a data connection on/off toggle instead of the auto rotation toggle like on the LG Optimus 3D.
Could someone help me?

I have also asked this , but nobody replayed ,
I also want the data in stead of the rotation
is there really nobody who can change this , it can't be that hard?
Or maybe we can "copy" some framework parts from the O3D?

Yes, but I'd like to have this in stock rom, CM doesn't make me so happy.
No way for stock rom with editing framework files?

Enable System UI tuner on Marshmallow

This is a guide to enable System UI tuner on Marshmallow.
Since we cannot root our Android One currently, it is a good way to tweak our devices right now.
It includes
•Re-arrange the Quick Settings toggles.
•Show hide items from the status bar (such as casting icon, do not disturb icon, etc.)
•Show the embedded battery percentage in the Battery indicator.
•Toggle Demo Mode
To enable this, do the following:
•Pull down the notification drawer to display the Settings gear icon in the top right corner.
•Long press this icon. It may not be noticeable, but it will begin to spin under your finger. It may take a couple of tries (did for me on two different devices).
•When it's activated, you will see a popup that says "Congrats! System UI Tuner has been added to Settings" (See screenshot).
•Go to your Settings and you will see an option for "System UI Tuner" under "About Phone".
That's it! Enjoy

Wait for bootloader unlock and custom ROM.
Only way to do it right now is to download an app that displays it in the left corner.
just to add to that , the 3G or 4G symbol is always displaying EVEN with the data turned OFF...
in the case that the phone is indeed using Mobile Data there are small arrow indicators that show Mobile usage.
app for everything that you need. This is something which bothers me coming from MIUI and its available customisation options. Ability to record calls from the dialler all the way to something trivial like Battery% in status bar.

Battery Percentage can be set to be displayed either while on charge or always.
That can be set within the system ui tuner, and that can be activated by holding down the gear symbol (settings) on the pull down menu.
Then in the settings menu you should see the system ui options.

Have you disabled any animations in developers options? If so, you have to turn them on again to make it work.

What is this icon for on Notification ?

What is this icon for ?
Auto Rotation OFF
Why this appears all of sudden . Most of the time I off the auto rotation and it's not appear before .
Do you use system ui tunner? This app has sometimes this issue when you hide some icons in the statusbar
Actually, my experience is, that icon shows up when you have auto-rotation on. When you turn auto-rotation off, the icon also disappears.
I thought it was an OS update available

Really odd, in my case, the icon appears when autorotation is disabled! ?
Usually stock for Samsung devices it doesn't appear at all no matter what you have it set to, well not on any of my past Samsung phones anyway.
As said, if you use System UI Tuner or ADB to disable or enable any status bar icons, it will show up. I disabled my alarm clock icon & doing so makes the rotation icon appear so I had to disable that too.
If not using System UI Tuner you can disable it using ADB, no root needed.
Code:
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist rotate

System UI Tuner

Hi,
Is there a posabillity to activate system ui tuner on the MI 9?
yes it is. turn on usb debugging, and usb debugging (security setting) just a few rows down from there. perform the Adb commands and you're set.
I think he was talking about the system UI tuner that was included in most versions of Android before Oreo. To activate it you long pressed the gear icon in the status bar until the icon started spinning which added a system tuner setting to the settings UI.
That function was discontinued because the available functions were incorporated into the customization options for the icon bar and system tray but I think Oxygen kept it--probably because One Plus coding is so inept their programmers don't actually know how to get rid of it.
