I was reading about LG G7 ThinQ looks nice.

Why do you want to change your note 8? What do you dislike about it? I would consider anything else except a note 9, as a downgrade
I dislike the battery.I absolutely hate the speaker. It's shameful for a device of this price.I also dislike the slow updates but that is a Samsung issue overall.Touchwiz launcher is horrible but that's an easy fix.All that being said nobody makes as good of a screen as samsung,I adore the camera and the s-pen is an absolute delight.I don't know about upgrading to the note 9 simply because that'd be a net loss of 500$ for only 6 months of usage on my note 8 but I'm positive I'll be getting the S10/Note 10
I think, there are more then enough people who needs every 6 month a new device.
I don't know why.
Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts

Nothing as such I just wanna change I am hating its curve screen which has no use at all and not a single screen protector fix on it (tried 4 so far)
I like OP6 but then its camera is not as good as Note 8 camera is, secondly it has no HDR for Netflix and Amazon and its vibrations are so so weird!!
I like LG G7 ThinQ though havent tried it yet!

You will probably have a difficult time with that question in this forum since we're here because we like/love the Note series of phones. With that being said I don't disagree with the speaker part, I'm hoping the Note 9 will have stereo speakers, preferably more robust speakers to boot.
You need to get a full screen adhersion screen protector. They can be found pretty easily you just need to look for them. But I would stick with the Note 8 as it is a very good device and will probably last you for a good few years.

Yeah still its so irritating and annoying at times saw HTC U12+ really impressed with the over all feel of the phone and the camera has outstanding results, might go for it I guess!

The LG G7 and HTC U12 won't have any better battery life compared to Note 8. PIxel 2 XL would be an option. Huawei Mate 10 Pro or P20 Pro is another option. Note 9 is around the corner with 4000 mah battery which should help
Bought OnePlus 6 Mirror Black 128gb (Black Mirror is so sexy its dope, OnePlus did an amazing job), its amazing freaking fast, smooth, the gestures are nice as well. I love the full screen display with notch though so many people don't like it, you can't compare the camera with Note 8 one's but its not that bad seriously and with Gcam the pictures comes really nice.
Over all experience is so satisfying, I don't miss Note 8 at all :good:

If I were you, I would go probably for the Huawei P20 Pro.
I get puzzled by such threads? The Note series is unique as a mobile phone experience.
The S-pen is whats makes the Note, the Note. If one doesn't need or use the S-pen I cant imagine why one would purchase a Note series mobile? To that end there are no options or other choices to the SG Note 8 until the Note 9 is released shortly.
If the S-pen is not of primary use then there are numerous other mobile phones to explore.
One thing is a certainty in the mobile world, no phone will please all users. That is why there is a plethora of choices. Every mobile made has its positives also negatives, its all a question of needs and usage prioritise.
I need and use the S-pen, it makes my mobile a pocket PC.
If I didn't need the S-pen I would look at mobiles with my second priority and that is good DAC and sound quality. Some prioritise the camera or screen size, the list is endless.
Ryland
so true, Ryland; plus, why do people thing anyone cares about why they hate a particular phone?
If you hate the note 8, get rid of it and get something else; no one here cares to hear your sob story about why its so awful..
BTW, even though I have had several Note phones, start with the first one, I rarely use the Spen at this point in my life; I like them for their size, their screen, and the "extras" that samsung includes in their phones...Sure, the sound sucks, but there are endless BT/Wired/Wireless speakers and head sets that make that point moot. Battery life is no issue, with wireless charging, and most of the other complaints are just silly ..
anyways, lets hope that people who dont like this phone just get rid of it, and move on, without giving us endless posts about why they hate/hated/got rid of it..no one cares!!!

I had an LG G7 ThinQ for 2-3 days, couldn't stand the UI and is on the small side for me compared to the Note 8. G7 is not slow just different when you use all these phones. Ended up giving it to my Granddaughter after 3 days.
Probably a Note 9 or an iPhone X plus
The note 8's battery is as trash as the Note 5's.
Related
I've been thinking about it for the past 2-3 days. Went to check out the phone at a store and I think it's pretty good.
Of course I ll sell my Note 4 and end up paying around 350$, but is it worth it?
The size seems perfect, the camera menu is good, speed as expected is also good.
Yes, I use the S Pen occasionally, but it's not that I can't live without it.
Also, going from 5.7 to 5.1 might seem a bit strange, but the ease of use might make up for that.
Battery wise, they are almost the same, but I guess the S7 will be less power hungry so it'll have bettery battery life.
I have the Note 4 since its launch and I am ok with it, although it's starting to lose its snappiness. Perhaps some degradation of the internal storage.
I also checked the S7 Edge, but its a no go, I dont like it that the edges of the screen are distorted.
If i was in your position, i wouldn't consider about it, note 4 is still an awesome phone and will be for a quite long time.
If you get used to a phablet size, i think you gonna regret for switching to a normal size. SPen is a great feature for me, since i have to keep notes very often.
I think it should be a better move to keep the note 4 and your money, and buy the note 6 someday.

+1 I played wth the s7's too and have been tempted to snag a couple. But I prefer note sized phones for reading. Wait for the Note 6 to see what new hardware it brings to the table before you throw money away.
No.
Note 6 maybe ........ no S for me
Hmmm... You convinced me guys. Thats what I'll do. If the Note 6 also sucks, I ll get the S7 at that time, which will also be a lot cheaper.
If you have money why not?
But for me my note 4 is still capable of anything that S7 can do. No reason at all for me.
Sent from my SM-N920C using Tapatalk
I've considered both the S7 Edge and the standard S7. In my opinion and limited experience with both S7 variants, I'd prefer the physical appearance of the S7 with the bigger (but not edge) screen of the S7 Edge as well as the battery of the S7 Edge.
However, as I've basically described the Note 6 I'll just wait for that.
I'd rather go Note 4 > Note 6, but it is heavily dependent on whether the bootloader is locked or not.
I mean, if I wanted to purchase a device that I'm unable to modify, why even go the Android route?
Only real way I can accept a locked-down Samsung device, is if it was significantly cheaper than the equivalent iDevice.

I'm in the nearly same situation.
The terrible Updatesituation of Note 4 lead me back to the s variants. Will a possible Note 6 more prefered as Note 4by Samsung itself.
Today i would take the S7 Edge because of screensize. I will miss Spen for the first time but the S Variants look better supported atm as Note Series.

I'm keeping my note 4 until something that really makes a jump in quality.
Note 4 to s7 wouldn't be worth the change for me plus I would hate going smaller now.
I think 4k amoled screens will be on Samsung agenda soon plus I think there will be some major improvements on the processors in terms of performance and battery life.
Waiting for the next note or nexus 6.
Specs don't mean as much as they did 5yrs ago. I'm in no hurry to upgrade I used to upgrade yearly but to be honest there isn't anything out there that is that much better. How fast does a phone need to be?
Sent from my SM-N910F using Tapatalk
Got the s7 and its perfect in many ways! Go for it!
if you are not going for the edge screen and its beautiful design, then just wait for the note 6, or reconsider upgrading to the s7 edge. i just had my new s7 edge today and kept my note 4 also, i did the upgrade for the dualsim and the beatiful designe and edges

I think you should wait and get the Note 6 if you want to upgrade. For the money, in my case dollar for dollar the Note series is a better value with the extras. Plus, as is been rumored it may be announced/released in the Jun/Jul time period, not too far from now. In addition, some new features may be added to the N series that the S may get on following upgrade. That's my two cents.
I think I'm going from a note 4 snapdragon to a lg g5 when its released in aus
Just read that the 12MP camera is a 4:3 sensor, So for 16:9 pictures you get stuck with 9.1MP instead of the full 16MP of the note 4.
This is a mayor drawback for me.
Noooo!
Can't do the switch, it will kill you. Annnnd, square photos.
Don't do it. Wait for the Note 6.

hey guys, i need some of your help, i will buy a note 4 in these days, is still worth buying?
If yes, what model? the snapdragon quadcore or the exynos octacore? which of them have more development for stable roms like a note 7 port to the note 4?
Please i need your opinions, thank you
Won't recommend it this late, especially when the likes of OnePlus 3 is out there, sorry. Also there is HTC 10. The only reason you should get the Note 4 is if you are getting it at a really low price. I love my Note 4, but a phone running TouchWiz, well it still runs TouchWiz. But if S Pen is a mandatory thing to you then you can't go anywhere else except the Note 4, that's true too.
Exynos all the way, if you don't wish for them AOSP based ROMs.
I don't agree, this is my fourth Note 4. Thought I could replace it with LG G4, no way. Thougth I could replace it with Oneplus 3, no way. Yeah, The OP3 is snappier, but thats it, everything else is better on Note 4.

I voted yes. I actually just ordered one yesterday, Due to arrive tomorrow. I was between a rock and a hard place when I made my decision. Seeing as the new notes all have a lot of nice features and speed improvement. The reason I decided on the note 4 is of course the note features as compared to other things like the lg g4 the oneplus etc. And my second biggest reason is that it's the last of the note series to have svlte. Meaning if i'm at a store and someone calls me I can still use data without needing wifi. All newer phones "at least on verizon" do not allow this unless you have volte I think. Problem is I use all my phones on prepaid and verizon won't allow prepaid users to use advanced calling. So if you're on verizon prepaid then the note 4 is for you. If you're on contract or just don't care about svlte then I say get a newer note. note 5 major drawbacks to me. no svlte. no sd card. no removable battery. note 7 drawbacks. no removeable battery and still very expensive.

I agree, the only reason why i dont choose the note 5 over the note 4 is for the sd card slot, and i dont get the note 7 becouse it is too way expensive.
I would choose the OP3 over the note 4 of course, but it doesnt have sd card slot, and there is only a variant of 64 gb
And i dont buy phones with mobile contract lol
Ohh and another question, which is the variant tag of the note 4 exynos octacore?
I've had my N910C for about a year now and it's probably the best device I've ever had. I got it shortly last year after the SGS6 series was released and when the specs of the Note 5 were announced. If I do end up upgrading it will probably be to a Note 7 as Note 4 are now very hard to find in brand new condition.

C and U are the tags which stated that you have a Exynos 5433 Octocore device.
I recently bought a refurb TMo Note 4 that went for cheap to use as a backup phone to my Nexus 6P. The last Samsung phone I had was a S4 and I was disillusioned with Samsung since the S3 and very critical of their software, so I only used Motorola and Nexus since. I have opened many phones brands to see their internals including Huawei, HTC, Motorola, ZTE, Samsung and Apple. I'm never impressed with Samsung internal build quality including this Note 4, which I think is cheap considering how much it cost during release. (My opinion, you don't have to get offended.)
I didn't expected to like the S-Pen features so much, along with multitask and pop out feature. This is pretty important to me, to be able watch a video while doing something else at the same time. I can do this with third party apps on the Nexus, I like the fact it's built in for the Note. With Root, Adaway, Nova Launcher, XPosed (reluctantly) the phone is pretty smooth and while not super snappy as my Nexus 6P, it certainly isn't slow. Another important Samsung feature I like is the Game Tuner and this pretty much eliminate the performance issue since I can play games at 720p/1080p and get good framerates. Again I can lower the screen res on my Nexus as well, except this is built in and it only affect selected apps which is much more convenient. Basically, the Note have all the features I wanted built in that I would have to go through extra steps to make available on my Nexus. Did I mentioned removable battery, sdcard and IR blaster?
The only downside for the phone is the finger print scanner is crap, but Smart Unlock works for me so it's not a problem. Other minor issue is the GPS sucks, I had to open up the phone which scared me a bit actually, but I managed to bend that GPS gold contact point upward a bit, now the signal is great.
So I sold the 6P to pay some bills and using the Note 4 as my daily driver. I think the whole Note 7 recall might work in my favor if it cause the phone price to go down faster, then I might upgrade to the Note 7 rather than getting the the new Google Pixel phone.
I forget to mention T-Mobile WiFi Calling works perfectly and stays connected all the time with this phone, a huge deal. For whatever reason it's always disconnect on the Nexus 6P and with Android 7 update it got worse.

Disagree, I recently bought 2x Note 4's for around 260€ a piece plus shipping and both are as new! So if you look around carefully you can find them for a reasonable price in as new condition...
Looking at ebay.de/co.uk and you will find good examples.
I would even go further that if they have some minor scratches on the frame, go and buy yourself a new frame. Replacing the frame is easy as is replacing the display assy...

Hi there,
I voted "YES" too.
I have one already (one Month old) and two more for the rest of the family coming this way. Why you may ask?
I need the S-Pen features, I wan't to be able to replace the battery (switch it in 2 min and 100% battery again), I'm using the SM-N9100 dual sim together with the MicroSD card (can't do that with Note 5 or Note7).
Finally the main reason (Price), I have friends in China that can buy it at 280€ , although locked to China SIM's but with a 10min call (using China SIM) and no problem at all using other Region SIM's ever.
It has a CHC rom (China and English) but using ODIN we can easily load the TGY Multi Language ROM with Gapps (Stock) and not triggering the KNOX warranty flag...
PS: The only downside points (by choosing the DualSIM N9100 version) are :
- The lack or Custom Roms (for example 6.0.1 not yet available "officially" in the TGY variant, maybe a few weeks from now since the CHC is "Finally" out).
- Smaller battery (3000 vs 3220).
- Less storage (16GB vs 32GB).
- Only Snapdragon, no Exynos option for dual sim.
- No FDD LTE band 20, but on the plus side we do have more bands for TDD side (traveling).
but unfortunately I really need the "DualSIM" feature .
PS: In China I saw the non-dual sim version at a even lower price (250€). Imagine buying three units at the same cost of the latest Note7. Can't beat the features/price ratio, especially packed with a amazing 5.7 inch 2K super Amoled screen . And I'm not talking about Refurbishing units.
Thanks,
Regards,

Depends ... the note 4 has a fine hardware, but the software (espacially updates) sucks. The note 4 is the first smartphone I never would get again. Don't get me wrong - really, the hardware is awesome, but the software (even with alternative) is just so bad. I came from a google nexus 2 years back and will get a nexus again.
Also I guess the note 4 won't get any more software updates, after the note 5 and 7 are out by now. I would suggest you wait till google releases their new nexus / pixel phones and look at the 6p then. My wife has the nexus 6p and I'm quite jealous - all that what I wanted the note 4 to be if you dont calc in the missing pen. Even the cam is better then the note 4 IMHO. And it will drop in price then.
Oh, and for what I don't like about the software ... it's slow and hangs from time to time. Also some Apps from Samsung are just bad like SVoice ... google now is much better in comparsion. If you ever used a pure android, you know what I mean. Also the additional apps like FB are something I don't want. Then there's the problem with the knox triggering when rooting (could result in a warranty dismissal) and so on. Or some random restarts with stock firmware (right now stock DBT snapdragon). Or the really bad finger print sensor. The Pen stuff is awesome and the OCR works like magic. But I use it quite rarely so it doesn't outweigh the cons.
Also I couldn't find any alternative rom that was working for me (too much stuff in it, too slow, to instabile, you name it) or with cm the health sensors not working and some other samsung stuff.
And to be a bit more clear, after I had some other samsung devices in my hands ... never again a samsung for me personally. Only the best phones get updates for more then like 6 months and new features don't reach the phones ever. Also it seems like there are 20 software engineering camps withing samsung, all working against each other...
But really, this is my personal, strong subjective feeling about the phone - if you like it or not, depends on how it works for you. For me there are too many things that anger me, mostly small things like I mentioned above. Might be it's different for you. Read some more reviews on amazon, even the bad ones.
You could set your priorities and then decide, OP.
Hardware: Note 4 is still decent, but much newer chipset and better chipset are out there.
Software: As far as TouchWiz goes, no comment there. But with a little bit of tweaking (by choosing performance over battery) you could the nice enough performance. But never to the level of HTC 10 and OnePlus 3. Read Anand's review of Note 7 and see the section where they compared the frame rates with HTC 10. TouchWiz lags mate, its as simple as that.
Camera + Display: Display is excellent, and camera is decent enough too.
S Pen: No competition there, again.
Build: Note 4 is the very LAST phone in Samsung's lineup where Samsung used practical materials to come up with a mobile phone. Now all of them are jewellery.
Price: Like I said in my previous comment, if you could get it at good price, which is somewhere around 25-30% lower than OnePlus 3's then "maybe" you could get it.
The note 4 is still a great device I still have my tmo 910t device i just ordered the 910c for exynos which is a little snappier than the snapdragon all the devices in my sig. i still own and use but for a few. I haven't added another note 5c and s6 edge plus to my sig yet. But the note 4 will keep up with those other devices for the age. if you want a loud ringing phone note 4 is it.. The note 5 isnt as loud as the note 4 or the note 3 for that matter..
I currently have a Note 4 on the Verizon network.. Plus it is snapper than most, plus it can handle anything I throw at it app wise.. Never over heats or crahses.. The Note 5 and seven both have none removal batteries, and that is a draw back for me.. Plus it still has volte, and the newer ones do not.. I also have the Droid Turbo on Verizon.. What I do not like, is before I installed a custom rom, the battery would drain, and constantly needed to be charge.. Plus it would over heat a lot and freeze.. I would consider another Note 4 if I needed one.. But when the Note 4 is payed off, I plan on getting any Samsung device or another brand all together.. It will depend on price, and development..
Hi guys I've just got the note 8 on contract question is do you guys think I should wait for the s9 plus or keep the note 8
I'm happy with the note 8 only thing I'm jealous of from the rumours is the stereo speakers
Apart from that I don't see what more they can improve on that will over take the note 8 maybe the camera but as far as I know ain't they using the same displays 1440p ect?
Thanks
You should keep the note 8, wait for the s9+, buy a Nokia 3310 in the mean time and then wait some more for the note 10. :silly:

Lol I know it was a silly question suppose I was just wondering if people thought it was with the wait or it will just be a incremental update of the s8 plus ect
stereo speakers, camera, processor.... those seem to be the selling points really, however... no s-pen so not for me.
I'm not a good enough photographer to use/know the difference between S9+ and my Note 8, processing power... well my note8 have plenty already.... as for the speakers... well, no matter what, mobile phone speakers will never be all that great, if you want good sound go buy nice earbuds.
I doubt I would consider the S9+ an actual upgrade over the Note 8
Check the web, plenty of specs already there and decide for yourself. And in 4 days you'll see the official one.

As I always point out, a note user considers the s pen as the number one factor, if not, go for a S series, a pixel, a V series, a xperia, I dont know, any real fine flagship
Thanks guys just with me having 14 days to decide but I'll properly keep the note 8 something special a out the note series
I'll have a look at some decent buds now any recommendation that have nice sound any with a nice dac too
Thanks again
I'd tell anyone outside of XDA to go for N8, especially when S9 comes out as it will most definitely get a price drop.
However, in XDA, many will say S9, all due to Project Treble.
If you dont fiddle with your phone, stay with N8. We still dont have much info on Treble, but the way the tables have changed, technically, Sammy should adapt it.
Note 9 and S9/S9+ Skip. Note 10 or Galaxy X Give me! The S9+ slightly better then Note 8. You just contract phone. Chances are you had to put $200-300+ down payment. Plus the months you use till S9+ comes out which avg. $20-40. Then let's say you want a S9+ That's another $200-300 down and start all over with payments. Is it really woth it to have a slightly better Note 8? No.
Even the Note 9 rumors specs/features not making me want to get it. Will wait for Note 10 or Galaxy X. $1k a year for a phone? That hurts. Seems best to skip a gen and get a true upgrade. This Note 8 is a powerhouse so I am sure it will be good for 2-3 years.
That's just my opinion though. Some people want the hottest phone every year. That's fine it's your money spend how you want.
Thanks just checked what project treble is sound promising do you think the note 8 would get it?
I had the s8 plus xperia xz premium and the iPhone 8 plus and switched to the note 8 so looking to stick with the device for at least around a year lol need my phone addiction to calm down a bit
But if there isn't much of a difference between the s9plus to the note 8 what we know of anyways then I'll properly keep the note 8
Does anyone know on any rumours of what dac will be in the s9
Wait for 6.5" Note 9.

Sounds like spoiled bratty question.. no offence anyway like pen stay with note.. otherwise S series
I was wondering the same and ended up picking up the Note 8 directly from Samsung. They were willing to give me $350 for my Edge 7 which is more then I would get on Ebay and they tossed in the Icon X 2018. With how carriers do phones now with these stupid leases and no subsidizing. I'd rather pay $600 for a Note 8, then $800 for a S9+ in a few weeks that hasn't been tested mainstream yet.

I'd like to know that too (DAC) , I love my Samsung but they're not notorious for great sound quality. Wonder if it'll be any different this time. I still keep my HTC 10 for listening to music, sounds miles better imho.

I'm using a htc usb c to 3.5 jack and to me sounds louder and better then the built in dac on the note 8
Guess we'll find out soon enough eh, for me if it includes a good DAC it'll be a good all rounder for me. Maybe they'll shock us... Hmm

coming to note 8?
I do not believe! Officially, you have to buy S9, but after Note8 gets Oreo, it can be done porting the S9 application on Note8.
Port
Is porting the app a relatively simple process? I have flashed my Note 8 to Oreo and I'm curious about porting the app.

No - Its not easy and the AR emoji was made specifically to work on the S9 - it probably will not work on the Note 8 at all...but maybe there is a developer who could work magic. Don't expect to see it for a long time
Must port with cameraS9.apk.I expect Note9.

I think you are in the wrong thread we're talking about a note 8 camera not Google camera apk

There is a app that works like ar emoji...
Its really cool app....
And the app name is booble keaboard...you can get this app in playstore
i just finished with a new update of my note 8 with oreo .. but unfortunately it doesn't support ar emoji
So the Note 8 definitely will not get AR emoji? I just got a notice few months ago when I'm not really into the note series I really want the 9 plus I should have waited. The note is too big for me and I like the fingerprint sensor on the nine.

Officially from Samsung, probably not.
Have you held a S9+ yet? It is a tad bit smaller than the Note 8 but not by much, pretty much the same. If you want to swap to a S9+ only because of size, you might be disappointed. S9 would be a noticeable difference but hardware is not the same as S9+

Yes I've held the S9 Plus we originally had the 7 Edge and wanted to upgrade but the 8 plus wasn't enough difference for us to upgrade. And then we saw specs of the note we got it only because it had the dual cameras an the 6 gigs of RAM and was the latest phone out plus Samsung gave us 300 bucks for our 7 edges which is the price we paid for them from Sprint on a two-year contract. But I knew the nine would be out in a few months and I should have waited. But we didn't know that Samsung would still be given $300 out for the 7 Edge so that's another reason we did it that quickly. I'm not really into the note series I have small hands and I never use the pen I don't like where the fingerprint sensor is.
The S9 plus has dual speakers with Dolby Atmos better camera the intelligent scan and of course the AR Emoji which I believe would like to have. Was going to sell my note and get the S9 plus but we just got our phones a few months back and my husband doesn't want me doing that and spending the difference on an S9 Plus so I'm hoping the note get some of the features of the 9. We've only had our notes for like 3 months I paid 650 and got offered 550 but then I'd have to pay 850 for a S9 plus unlocked so it's probably not going to happen

I have seen numerous videos and articles that all seem unanimous in suggesting people not upgrade from the Note 8 to the S9. They actually feel that it’s almost a downgrade because the only thing you are really getting is a better chip and the speakers. The S9+ is different where you aren’t losing items that the Note 8 has other than the S Pen, which in my opinion is a big loss, but you are gaining potentially a camera that’s better in low light. However, again every suggestion I’ve seen was to not upgrade. There was one person who said if you really don’t use the S Pen then maybe. I also wanted to point out what the other individual was trying to point out and that’s the difference in size. It’s S9+ at 158 x 74 x 8.5 mm and the Note 8 at 163 x 75 x 8.6 mm. So the dimensions are almost identical. You may want to hold them both in your hand. One suggestion I have for you is something that happened to me personally. When I had the Note 2 and the Note 3 was coming out, I had a friend who asked me if I was going to upgrade. I said honestly, no. I don’t really draw and really don’t use or need the S Pen. He proceeded to show me just a few things that I was unaware of and then suggested I look at a particular site and YouTube video. I ended up buying the Note 3 and everyone except the Note 5 because it didn’t have the SD card. I was completely unaware of all the capabilities. So before you pass on the Note series as a whole, I would just suggest you really learn all of the capabilities of the S Pen.
The other thing that doesn’t help is Samsung got rid of the old S Note in favor of Samsung Notes which is an inferior app. The original S Note came with Action Memo, Photo Note, Easy Chart, Idea Sketch, Scrapbook, etc. In my opinion it’s probably the best app ever for the S Pen and maybe even the best app period. I was going to say if you’re interested there’s a way to get it installed that I learned from another Thread in this site. However, I just updated my phone to Oreo and it messed up some of it. It looks like we can’t get Easy Chart installed and Photo Note looks to only work in landscape. But this just happened over the weekend, so I’m hoping that someone will figure out a solution. If you do end up with the S9+, I hope you enjoy it!

There is a post here where some guys teach how to enable scrapbook and all features and apps. Also I modded all those apps to work on nougat but I don't try yet on oreo because i don't need it now. You should try it; I'm agree with you, s note had been the best Samsung app with all features.

It seems that on oreo is really not working... to bad.
Thanks everyone! For now I am keeping my Note 8. My husband says we just got these 3 months ago and if I sell my Note and only get 550 I still have to pay the difference for the unlocked s9 plus. I just wish we would of waited but we didn't know Samsung would still be giving $300 for the 7 edge. But I have small hands and I know the 9 plus is big too I like where the fingerprint sensor is. I don't use the pen or know about other Notes and what they had but I do love my Note it's fast and I have no complaints and will be getting Oreo on my unlocked in the next couple weeks. All carriers have it now I read. But yesterday I did play with an S9 that was in this little Best Buy mobile at the mall and I made a gallery of like 18 AR Emojis and sent them to myself than deleted them off the phone so I could see what it looked like. I've seen a 9 plus on display too and yesterday he said here hold an 8 plus same as 9 plus. I wouldn't do a regular 9 cause of hardware but I was also thinking I maybe should just wait for the S10 and maybe it will be 5G ready.
We have Sprint and got unlocked so we could switch to another carrier here soon. But thanks for now I will keep my Note if hubby would of let me I probably would of done it though and got a purple s9 plus but I am not unhappy and I love my Note works great. Just hope battery stays the same or is better once we get Oreo. Cause I always had to charge my 7 edge at work in the lower level with no signal my Note I never have to charge.
I've currently got an s8+ that has no issues, however I'm really interested in the note 9. To those of you that have it would you think it's worth upgrading to from an s8+?
Yes.... Had an S8+ before my Note 8. Note 8 a definite worthy upgrade to the S8+, Note 9 a definite upgrade from the Note 8.
Note 9 is the best phone available right now. If you love Note phones, you'll love the Note 9. Lots of upgrades over the S8+ with this phone.

I upgraded from the s8+ to the 512 gb version, just for the storage increase. I think it was worth it.
I think it's a worthy upgrade. I got mine thru Verizon and got a decent trade in for the S8+ witch made the monthly payments only $1 more than Samsung financing. I originally gave my wife my Note 8 last week because I purchased a new Pixel 2xl. That didn't work out so good so I returned that and went for the Note 9. I've only had the S8+ for a few days but can say just for the extra screen size and camera it's well worth the upgrade if you don't mind the bill. I can't comment on the battery yet but can say the S8 was doing good for me there.
Thanks for the advice everyone. I've never owned a note but I'm interested in this one for the camera, batter, and s pen. Is the s pen really as awesome as most reviews make it seem?
Best phone ever. Only flaw really is sealed battery.

Ii say definitely, coming form the Note 8, the small upgrades actually have big impact.
I agree. Have had s8 plus and Note 8. While it's not a ground breaking advance over last year's phones it is just a little better in almost every way. If you can afford to, it is 100% worth an upgrade.
As far as the s-pen goes it is something you'll either play with for a week and never touch again, or it will become something that is invaluable to you. I've used Note phones since the 2. Skipped the 5 because it didn't have an sd card slot and was devastated when I had to return my Note 7. I use the pen almost every day at work and while I could live without it my workflow would become less efficient for sure.

i came from the s8 plus and i have no regrets. More storage, better battery. A little bigger screen. Brighter Screen, Better speakers. S pen ( if you use it ), More ram ! better processor ! come on homie. Make that switch
I say if you can pick it up go for it. A lot of people who has a Note 8 can't justify the move because of the price point but I made the switch. This is coming from a guy who was trashing Apple for their iPhone X price. The Note series are the only phones that excites me and all of the added feature did not make me hesitate (maybe a little)

It isn't. Haven't found a need for it honestly
I used to root every phone I owned. These days the hassle far outweighs the benefits imo.

Couldn't agree more! Plus there are so many apps that can do things now that used to require root.
