So I've recently switched from an S9+ to the P20 Pro, and I'm experiencing a really frustrating bug on the Facebook app. Whenever someone or a page posts 4 or 5+ pictures, I can't load them. I tap on one, and something flashes to suggest they're open but nothing appears. Also with comments. When opening 'more comments' for example, nothing appears. This isn't just occasionally, it's everytime.
I never had this issue with the S9+ which leads me to believe it may be a setting with the Pro.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and no joy.
Anyone experienced anything similar?
i don't think it's a bug in the phone. More likely a bug on fb..
I've had the p20p for a while and fb have been ok before.
I have the exact same issue.
I third this issue. Was considering clearing cache and reinstalling but haven't bothered to try yet. Facebook regularly tinker with the app anyway.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. I've tried clearing the cache and reinstalling but made no difference. I'll try again, maybe it's something FB will sort
Have the same problem.... but I don't believe it's an issue with the phone. I had this same problem on my V30
I just downloaded Facebook Lite and its working fine. It doesnt look as good as the main app, and nowhere near as smooth but a good option nonetheless

Hey guys, so I just got the S5 a couple of days ago and I love it. However, I'm having some problems with the push notifications of certain apps not coming through, yet they do easily on my Nexus 7. They weren't a problem on my Nexus 5, but I have no idea why it's not working properly on a brand new phone like the S5. Each of the apps, like Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat to name a few, are all listed to push notifications and they're set in the main Android settings, so I have no idea. Anyone else have the same kind of issues like me?
To note, I've already factory resetted my phone several times, cleaned out the data, caches, etc and still no use. I am rooted though, but I doubt that should make a huge difference, right? And right now, I'm not using Xposed framework, but before when I first noticed the issues, I was. Thanks in advance!
Taking a longshot here...but have you updated that Samsung Push Service app through the Play Store (and all other apps for that matter)?

if you used Titatium backup to restore any apps that use push, that could be your issue. I restored facebook, instagram , snapchat etc and the push never works when i restore, you need to clear the app out, and just login new for each push app.

Yeah, I did that initially, but that was the first time I got the phone. Now, I've been clearing out the caches and data for each app, uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the Play Store, but still some of the apps don't have the push capability unless I was just in the app or still in it. Some of my problem apps are GroupMe, Snapchat and Instagram. When I had my Nexus 5, that wasn't the issue at all.
Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue?

Check out TB Restore Fixer on the app store. I noticed that when I did Titanium Backup restore, some of my apps were not working correctly and I couldn't reach certain parts of my storage, etc. After I ran it, it seemed to have straightened everything out. (Requires root, of course)
Hope this fixes your problems!
Same problem
I first started having this issue a week ago. I checked all the setting, factory reset, and I ended up switching out the Galaxy 5 through Sprint yesterday. E-mails and FB messenger app was working on data while I was driving home and I thought the problem was fixed. I reinstalled all the apps I was using and over night let the phone charge. When I woke up this morning I noticed two of the folders I made were removed and a widget for S Health replaced the folders spot. Thinking nothing of it I removed the widget and made it to work this morning to find out I had 3 e-mails waiting, a notification on facebook, and another message through FB messenger that did not come through this morning. I am receieving notifications if im on wifi but not through the data now and this is a new phone. I think this may have something to the 4.4.4 release but this is bugging me. Any new suggestions?
I have seen issues with sprint where phone calls are fine but data wont work in certain areas of the city unless you turn data roaming on it apears that the signals are ok for voice but not for data in thoes areas
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Data roaming is checked on, I did go in today and saw a roaming guard on data and turned it off but nothing yet. It's been two months and my push notifications are still not working. Figure I'd come here and bump again.
Im having same issue looks like no one has a solution for this... I get all my notifications while im on wifi but soon as im on data i stop getting some notifications. Very frustrating.
Currently running unofficial CM13, but this issue has occurred on CM12.1 as well.
Every time I try to download the app, the actual download completes but the notification "Installing Facebook" just sits there forever. When I go back into the Play Store, the notification goes away, but the app isn't installed. It also causes any other downloads to lock up until a couple minutes have passed.
On CM12.1, it would download and install, but the installation process would take ~5 minutes.
I'm figuring it's probably an issue with the app itself, but I was just curious to see if anyone else is having this problem.
I face this problem quite often. Even updating the app is a hard task for me now. It either would take ages or doesn't install at all.
I don't know what could be the reason behind it but try keeping the play store window just as it is after touching the install button. It works for me at times. While the window is changed, it never installs.
Have the same. Installed FB lite.
same problem i have rooted stock rom. i thought that problem is due to download manager, my thread is also there at xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/help/change-stock-download-manager-t3252514
have the same problem, doesn't have an answer, but for me it became worse with CM13. on CM12(.1) it was just as you described, but now it slows down the whole phone, rendering it useless. I suspect it runs out ot memory.
Please post here, if someone has a solution

I think it's the app itself. Facebook probably hasn't optimized it for 6.0 yet.

It's not available in my country. Go USA, haha. Not really though.
Had the same problem. Downloaded the APK from APKMANIA and installed. It's working fine now.
Hope it helps!
I've had a similar problem, the issue was that I installed FB Messenger app before the Facebook app itself. Uninstalling both and then installing Facebook first, Messenger second fixed it for me.

They both seem to take a while to install. Probably because Facebook installs 300+ MB worth of data.
Has anyone else experienced problems with google calendar? When I try to create a calendar event the app right away gets force closed. I really want to use this app and not Huawei's standard calendar. Unfortunately I've come across this problem with some other apps as well which is quite a worrying behavior of a phone. I'm running the latest software 8.1.0.107(C432) on my CLT-L29.
I never experienced anything like it when I had the pixel 2 xl. I also have a Samsung galaxy s9 plus where there are no issues at all. If this cant be solved then I'll get rid of the p20 pro since the minuses with force closing apps is a bigger problem than the advantage of a minimal better camera on the p20 pro.
I had this issue but I think it was because I uninstalled one of the calendar packages that are required for the app to function correctly.
Did you by any chance try removing any bloat / huawei apps from the phone?
The solution for me was to factory reset, once I had done that and redownloaded Google calendar it has been working a treat.
I use Google Calendar on C432 (.107) update and everything works fine for me, no any issues. As above, maybe you have switched off something? Or, firstly, try to delete the cache of Google Calendar or uninstall the application and install it again. On my P20 pro this application is not preinstallled.

Glad to hear that it's sorted. I'd be keen to try and understand why it happened in your case, I'm pretty sure my experience was due to uninstalling something that shouldn't have been.
I've got this issue right now - it was fine earlier today and this suddenly started happening mid afternoon. No new apps installed etc and nothing uninstalled either.
I really want to avoid a factory reset.
Don't suppose anyone has worked out the cause have they?
The app let's me create reminders, just not events. I can see events and drag them to change the time etc. Very odd.
Just to say it was a beta of Google Play Services causing my issue. All sorted now!
This is the first time I've seen weird behaviour on Chrome and it started after installing Android 11. When I open Chrome it just closes right away. I need to open it about 10-20 times for it to finally stay open. I tried installing Chrome beta and it works better although sometimes it gives the same issue.
I tried clearing all the data in Chrome but didn't help. Wondering if anyone had this issue or has suggestions to fix.

Since chrome beta is a stand alone app and can be run beside chrome, it seems you have some kind of hard configuration error or corruption. I'm guessing you have already uninstalled/reinstalled the app. If you are unlocked I would try a dirty flash using the full image (not OTA). Next I would backup everything and wipe the phone, installing 11 fresh. Sometimes stuff happens and you just have to reinstall. Not a bad idea going from 10-11. In addition to chrome beta, I use Firefox beta because it supports extensions (eg. uBlock). If the thought of wiping your phone is too much work for this single issue, it may be time to try another browser. Best of luck and let us know how you get it resolved.
Turns out it was app list mode on edxposed that was causing the issue. After disabling it, it works normally again!
Hello, I recently found out I can't view and download gmail attachments on my Oppo phone. I recalled I can view and download them before, so this must be recent development (possible after c.46 update?)
I also find out I can't download from Google photos and Google drive.
I did everything that is suggested by the internet, clear cache on GMS, playstore, etc.. to no avail.
Upon searching the internet, I came across similar problems with OnePlus devices: oneplus problem
and since OnePlus is part of Oppo, the problem may be related.
Has this also happens to anyone here? Do you have any work around of how to make this work?
Uninstall gmail update and use the factory load version.
On Samsung's I always use the factory load versions for gmail and gmaps because the updated ones suck. Google screws up everything... just give them time.

I tried that, but still can't download attachments that way.
Turned out the OnePlus user figured out the problem here
It is the Clone App feature. I unfortunately did a factory reset on my phone, and Gmail attachments downloaded fine, but as soon as I cloned an app, in this case WhatsApp, I can no longer download from Google Apps.
I always have been using 2 WhatsApp on this phone, and I have downloaded loads of attachments from Gmail with no problem before. I suspect the issue is on the latest software update.
The workaround is to switch to guest mode, and switch back, then its normal again. You don't have to delete the cloned app. One user from that OnePlus forum said if you reset your phone, then download failed again.. but I haven't tried resetting my phone since.
I hope they fix this on the next update

Yay.
Weird modes create weird problems.
WhatsApp is pure malware, I never go there and it would never be installed on any of my devices.
Better get while the gettings good...

I already did a faactory reset and it worked, but upon setting the phone again it started to fail on donwloading from Gmail/Google Photos... maybe when I cloned WhatsApp.
Will switch to Guest and turn back, to see if it works.

Unfortunately a factory reset doesn't ID the root cause of the problem, so it can reoccur.
WhatsApp is trashware... what could go wrong?
Try completely uninstalling WhatsApp.
If that doesn't work it may have permanently altered hidden user settings, one of the the hallmarks of a poorly written app. Really it's acting like malware by locking out another app's functionality if so.
Factory reset and do a clean load from scratch. Be careful what you install or you'll be doing it again!
Just because an app is Playwhore approved doesn't make it compatible or even safe!

Thanks for your information.
I have been searching for the workaround for last 10days as even Oneplus Support could not provide any workaround.
The workaround to switch to guest mode, and switch back to Original User temporarily solves the issue. However, If we reboot the device, we have to follow the same procedure again.

It didn't work for me.Thanks.
Well, I managed to get it to download the gmail attachments again. I have uninstalled the double application (in this case whatsapp), I have restarted the mobile, and reinstalled. The first time the whasapp installation failed, the second time it didn't and magically it re-downloaded the attached files.
It is seen that there is a problem with app cloning in this operating system.
After update to C47 enable permission to storage in gmail app, then files will be down!
Update: issue come back, not know why!
2nd update: after update the firmware to C60, problem solved!
