Is it possible to flash a rom with twrp through an otg usb drive? If so, will there be any problems?
Should be no problems. I flash items from OTG drive a lot. ROMs included. You should be okay.

Yes, if something is flashable, then you can also sideload it from usb, or flash from otg.

I'm not new to the ROM world as I've been doing this for about a year. I usually switch between CM (Lineage) or CypherOS and today I went to TWRP to update it from 3.0.2 to 3.1. After flashing it in TWRP and rebooting back into recovery, my PC no longer detects my device. I have no ROM installed (since I was in the process of switching) and now I'm stuck. I can't get files onto my phone.
I have tried reflashing other versions of TWRP using fastboot but they fail every time. I could really use some help
Update: It was the drivers on my PC. I tried on another laptop and it worked fine.
I have a oneplus 3t.
Currently on Resurrection Remix OS v6.0.0. Android version 8.1.0.
Using Magisk v15.3 as root method.
twrp-3.2.1-0.
I have tried flashing both, franco kernel r39 and Elemental X v4.00. Both are giving me a boot loop. So I had to extract the boot.img from the RR OS zip, adb push it to the phone and flash through recovery to get the phone working again. Am I flashing them incorrectly? are these kernels eve compatible with RR OSv6.0.0? what kernels can I use if these aren't?

Those kernels are for Oxygen OS. Maybe caesium kernel will work for you, although, I do not know why you bother with a different kernel than the one of the rom.

RR is literately built with Caesium, so I wouldn't flash it again. So yeah, the default ROM kernel is fine.
here are the steps i followed:
unlocked oem
installed twrp using my pc
then i flashed lineage os 16
i didnt install gapps because it failed for some reason. did i leave a step?

LineageOS does not have root by default, you have to flash LineageOS and then flash SuperSU.zip in TWRP or flash Magisk in TWRP. Flashing Magisk in TWRP is a better option than flashing SuperSU.

Hi Everyone,
I was using the Moto E5 Nora Xt1944-6 with android 8.0 when I decided to upgrade it to android 9.0.
I installed TWRP and through it I installed Lineage 16.0 and Gapps ARM 9.0 Stock on my phone.
Now when I reboot it I get an error "Failed to load kernel" and the phone does not boot. I cannot even access the recovery mode as it just takes me back in to TWRP. Any ideas.
Thanks

What do you mean cannot access recovery, TWRP is your recovery.

Hi,
I have a problem in which when I flash the TWRP (any Android version), then when i'm in the TWRP and I plug in the usb cable from PC, the phone reboots, so it unallows me to use sideload.
And also i can't install LineageOS from SD Card, after reboot it just bootloops recovery.
Everything was fine, i successfuly flashed LOS before on this phone, but now when i want new version it just doesn't work.
What can i do?
Edit: Seems like the official LineageOS build for merlinx doesn't work, but official does. How can I fix it?
