5ghz wifi - Xiaomi Redmi 4X Questions & Answers

RR nougat supports 5ghz WiFi for santoni but its been 6 months but still not in oreo I couldn't upload the video but I can provide it by telegram..... My number is 7005273911

I recall now that some nougat roms had the 5ghz option (at create hotspot or wifi scan). However could not scan and connect any 5Ghz AP, while another phone side by side could.
if you are able ro do so, post screenshot here of 5Ghz scan, and which version of RR / which dev RR ?

Is this normal Wi-Fi behavior

If I enable both 2.4ghz and 5ghz in my router (d-link dir-850L) my T800 will only connect to 2.4ghz. If I enable only 5ghz it will connect to 5ghz. This happens with stock, modified stock, and CM ROM. I'd prefer to enable 2.4ghz for backward compatibility with older devices, obviously.
Have you tried to just set your tab s to only 5 ghz? Instead of auto
Do'h!! never saw that before. Thanks.
But then it won't connect to my old router on the other side of the house.
I found out I can set the 5ghz band to use a different SSID. That seems to work out well.
Try WiFi manager from App Store (Google Play). Has option in settings that should address your problem.

[Q] Disable 5GHz band on stock 4.3

Hello guys.
I have no idea about wifi problem on Stock ROM 4.3 .207
My SP always drop wifi connection and there error "Association Rejected"
Already find out the problem and I already try all ways like Auto-Assign IP, unchecked WiFi Optimization etc to resolve that but no luck
I wonder about WiFi certifed but i dont have certified router to check and compare it with my current problem router
There one left that i am not try yet. Disable 5GHz band. There some ppl said, disable it (and the 2.4GHz band as default) will be resolved the issue.
So, anyone know how to disable 5GHz band wifi on our SP?? My stock ROM rooted.
Thanks

Wifi 2.4 Ghz to 5 Ghz

Hi friend can i switch wifi band from 2.4 ghz to 5ghz in my xperia z (i have lollipop stock rom android 5.1.1 and i have a locked bootloader allowed no) any solution to do that like a MOD .i dont worry if its neccesery to root my device tnx all
If your Router is sending 5Ghz phone should connect to it, its I remember similar topic in Sony forum, and new software(4.4+) is working with it without changing any setting on phone.
Try setting your router with new AP with only 5GHz, then reset your wifi settings in phone and connect again. Restart both devices and check again.
Or if you have possibility assign new SSID with 5Ghz and remove 2.4Ghz. Some routers(like my Huawei) can send both simultaneously, and I just set secondary SSID for that.
2.4 is crowded like hell almost everywhere but to be honest switching to 5ghz is not big difference for me.
Actually 5GHz have bad signal strength and its have problem with sending it to longer distance. Also if you want use only 5, you should remove every 2.4 AP from your phone, because phone ALWAYS choose stronger signal(and 2.4 is always send stronger signal than 5)

Mi5 Pro WiFi 2.4GHz issues.

Hello forum members.
I want to share with You My Mi5 Pro WiFi problems, hoping someone can give advice so i can use my Mi5 Pro again.
The phone's WiFi has some issues:
It scan and display all networks, but can't connect to 2.4GHz networks.
It connects and work fine with some 5GHz networks. Also connect and work fine with 5GHz hotspot networks.
Bluetooth is working fine.
MiDrop can scan, but can't connect and transfer.
Hotspot is working only on 5GHz mode. On 2.4GHz can't share or connect to other.*
What I have tried to solve the issues:
Reset the phone.
Update the phone.
Flash other MIUI.
Unlock and flash other Android.
Rooted the phone and changed the WiFi MAC address (on MIUI).
Erased and flashed the modem (NON-HLOS.bin)(on MIUI).
No changes after all my attempts.*
And also, after all My attempts, I have noticed something. When I try to connect to 2.4GHz network (unsuccessful of course) and leave the WiFi on or off (the WiFi is not connected) , the phone's battery is draining very fast. If I connect to 5GHz network (successfully), and after that turn off the WiFi,**the battery is not draining fast.
If someone have any advice, or something I can check or share more info, I'm here and waiting.*
Thanks.
PS:Correction, 5GHz is not working with any router. More specifically, it's not working with most routers.
Maybe it's hardware problem. WIFI antenas disconnected?
Maybe, bit i hope it's software.
When i remove the antennas there is no wi-fi networks even detected, or only the closest ones are shown very weakly.

Question WiFi hotspot problem

I have Realme 8, on C09, when using it as WiFi hotspot I can set it only to 2.4GHz. Is it for everybody, or just me?
Redmi note 7,8,9 &10 supports 5ghz as well as some none note variants like the Redmi 9,9T and Redmi 10.
Newer Redmi devices are more likely to have 5ghz wifi support. But when you're in doubt just google the specific phone model and check the “comms" area. If it states that it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band then it supports both 2.4ghz and 5ghz frequency. But your phone does not show support for that wireless band on its specs list.
EDIT: just noticed you said Realme not Redmi lol, this spec here shows that your phone does have support for 5Ghz for sure. There must be a setting that your missing for that. I'm checking right now to see if theres any system settings that allow you to change that. Try resetting network settings.

I have a Realme 9 pro and GT here that I just checked with and I see the same thing here. It only says 2.4Ghz and in the updates, it shows a connections stability update which is probably where they just removed 5Ghz from the AP band choices. I can't understand why they would do that, but with data you really won't get speeds higher than what 2.4Ghz can handle. But going off of what I have here, it looks like most Realme phones have the same thing

Well, I wish I had a special trick to tell you that would allow you to use the 5Ghz band on that phone but I have no idea, sorry man.

Thank you anyway, just the information that it's not the issue with my phone, but with software in general was enough.

If im only connected to Mobile Data i only got 2,4Ghz
*Wlan supported 2,4 And 5ghz i doint know how it is, if the Wlan only supports one of them
