Hi Res pic
I don't like the notch and the rounded corners.
I am no notch hater, I like the OnePlus 6 and also the p20 but they are kinda trendy phones. The mate Serien used to be business style. Round corners and waterdrop notch don't fit this theme, I need a contrast to the p-series.
Hoping for a pro with 6.9" no notch
Honestly with a smaller chin and no notch I would definitely get this, especially for the Kirin 980, looks like I'll be sticking with my Mate 10 Pro for awhile now, glad I didn't hold out until this ugly thing was leaked, just give me a Mate 20 ROM port for the Mate 10 Pro and I'll be happy
I think there should be zero chin - just like the iPhone X. I don't like phones with disproportional bezels. They should either be the same top and bottom (no matter how small) or none at all.
I don't see why they should need one. No room for buttons or fingerprint scanner so just remove it.

(don't mind the brightness on Mate10 as supposedly the brightness does not hit peak when the "smart" mode for resolution is activated).

This is quite interesting. I'm wondering if the difference is height is not as great cause it looks like the top of the Mate 10 is not level with the Mate 9. This would make the screen not look as tall. Barring some illusion due to the angle, I'm really happy if the Mate is a really little wider. This makes me more inclined (no pun intended) to by it!

Hi. If you have a side by side front view that would clear up things about the screen dimension. Thanks!

Its not shorter if you consider actual usability of the whole screen. Its bigger in every sense. See the attached screenshots from phonearena phone-size comparison tool.
Although length wise it almost matches with mate 9 screen, mate 10 screen has no on screen buttons, unless you chose to enable them, so from down to bottom it has more screen real estate that you can actually use and enjoy content on it + mate 10 has smaller side bezels than mate 9.
Considering the on screen button non-existence, unless enabled, I would call mate 10 a true 5.9" phone, while mate 9 and all of them other on screen button phones are a bit of cheat if I can say so, because when advertising 5.9", 6.2" or whatever they avoid to explain that its actually less, considering the space on screen buttons take away.
This is also one of the main reasons why I am so hyped about Mate 10/ready to move away from IP7+, because its truly an upgrade screen size wise when coming from 16:9 aspect ratio 5.5" phones like for example OP5 (5.5" with capacitive buttons) and even ip7+ (also 5.5. fully usable screen with 16:9). I definitely do not support that sausage type movement/the new trend of phones with aspect ratio 18:9 and even 18:9.5 in case of iphone x, s8+, note8 - for me those screens are not big, they are simply long and remind me of the memes flying around the web when iphone 5 came out with that longer display (One extra line), therefore I want mate 10 to be a huge success and maybe other producers and even Huawei itself next year will try out and squeeze out even more usable cm2 on a 16:9 aspect ratio screen and phone frame :good:

I don't mean its a negative. After all the Mate 10 is still narrower than the Mate 9. And it has one of slimmest side bezels i have seen. From my hands on usage viewing full screen videos, it won't be wrong to say your eyes almost does not see the side bezels.
Im more curious though in that it seems 16:9 or 18:9 ratio measure is slightly variable in reality and not fixed. I was wondering how it is possible Huawei could in their next generation Mate 11 make the sides more narrower while retaining 16:9 or has Huawei's Mate 10 hit the most extreme in that regard ? But if ratio is slightly variable i guess its possible.

Hi. Assuming the pictures are to scale, they are consistent with the Mate 10 screen being slightly wider and slightly shorter. I'm good with this. It is closer to the form factor I want. I think the original Galaxy Note, one of my all time favourite phones, had a 5.3 inch screen but it was nearly as wide as the Huawei Mate 9 because it was 16:10. The first Note Edge (one side edge) was actually wider having 5.6" diagonal and 16:10. If the Note 8 had 16:9 screen, with around 6.3 inch diagonal I definitely would have got that. 18:9 (maybe borderline for me depending on diagonal) and higher ratio is too close to Hershey bar for me.

I believe this is the most extreme you can get. The fingerprint reader/home button is as small as it can possibly be to be comfortable hitting it + on top you have to leave space for camera, led notification, etc. Hats off to Huawei for keeping the 16:9 aspect ratio going and making top and bottom so small on a 16:9 screen with no on screen buttons in perfect symmetry.
Ok. I ordered mine! Mocha Brown, 6GB/128GB. C636...
The screens are IDENTICAL in size. I upped the brightness and contrast just to amplify the bezels and screen. Mate 9 and 10.

Nope. He is tilting the left phone up slightly which creates the illusion of a longer screen. See my photo above. They are the same size.

If you have a Mate 9 you will love the Mate 10. A lot faster than the M9 or the SD 835. Screen not on par with Sammy but no screen burn- in 2 months down the road. Speakers louder and clearer on the M10. Off-screen navigation button is ingenious.
@ramheer do you know if the rebranded phones from Wonda will get OTA?

Check out my Unboxing, First Impressions and Hands On with the Honor 9 Lite.
WATCH IT HERE: https://youtu.be/VWtZ5i21fvI
Please take the time to read about my first Impressions below too and any questions or requests please leave a comment below, thank you.
I attended the Honor launch event for the Honor 9 Lite and whilst there I got plenty of hands on time with both devices and came away extremely impressed. The Honor 9 Lite’s front camera features an industry leading 13MP + 2MP dual-lens system, delivering crystal images with hardware-level bokeh effects. Moreover, with panorama selfie, gesture control shooting, and built-in effects, enjoy your selfies with more fun.
On Opening the typical teal coloured box from Honor I was presented with the Honor 9 Lite in Glacier Grey, also included in the box was a charging brick, Micro USB charging cable and sim ejection tool. Because it is a review unit there were no booklets inside or paperwork thank goodness.
The Phone is made of 2.5D curved glass on the back and front of the display making it very ergonomic to hold and sandwiched in the middle is a nice metal frame. Very shiny with a mirror like finish and it feels extremely sturdy in hand.
There is a single speaker, charging port, mic and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom of the phone, a power button and volume rockers on the right side and on the left the sim card tray which can take 2 sims or a sim and micro sd card. On the front we have a 5.65in 18:9 FHD+ screen with the earpiece and dual selfie cameras above the screen and Honor branding on the chin. On the back we have a dual camera set up with LED flash, mic and more Honor branding and a very fast fingerprint reader.
The fingerprint reader is very fast and easy to set up unlocking the Honor 9 Lite in 0.25 seconds, thats right I said a quarter of a second! There is a 3000mah battery in the phone, not the biggest but at the £199 price point I can't complain in reality, the cameras on the front and rear of the Honor 9 Lite are 13mp and a 2mp shooter and they are great for Bokeh shots.
Overall I am impressed by the Honor 9 Lite so far and look forward to making more videos about it!

Honor 9 lite camera
Honor 9 lite is most affordable Quadlens smart phone. we all know that Honor 9 is successor on honor 8. This time honor can give tough competitor to some bigger brands like samsung ,lenovo, xiaomi etc,. Honor 9 main focus is on Camera. The Quad lens is the Usp of this smartphone. Android 8.0 Oreo-based user interface. Mostly lovable part of this phone is Photography.
Even though I have a 6T 6.4" I wouldn't say no for an s10 with 6.1" but the claim that battery is much better on the + is making me think twice.
Anyone has both in exynos and can compare SOT?
Do you feel the single small punch hole of the s10 much more tolerable than the cigar shape dual lens of the s10+?
S10+ will be better.

Whatever size you like. I looked at both and I liked the S10 better because it was a little smaller. I keep BT, location and wifi on all day on my S10 and usually have between 30 and 40% left when I charge it at bedtime. I'm fine with the small cutout but I don't thing the oval one would bother me either. It looks like the Snapdragon may have a little better battery life so if you're getting the Exynos then your usage may vary. Some people are more anal than others and don't like either cutout so in the end it's what you're looking for in a phone.
S10 is fine if you some extra bucks then go for S10+
So it doesn't bother you to have a bigger "hole" out of nowhere on the s10+? On the s10 I could live with it
I have both and will be selling my ceramic S10 plus. The standard 10 just feels to be the right size and going back to the plus just illustrates how much managing these large phones take, yes you get used to it but there is no doubt that the 10 is easier to use one handed and less of a burden to carry.
The jump from say 5.5 or 5.8 made the burden worthwhile but 6.1" is hardly a small screen and may well be the sweet-spot
YMMV

I tried both, figured I'd prefer the S10+ because of the battery but even if I'm used to 6.4 inch displays (note 9, 6T), a far prefer the S10's format. It's just a bit less screen but to me, it feels much better in the hand.

I have found a thread in xda where people are getting 8h Sot with the s10 after a full reset and no apps restored from backups.
If this is confirmed I would take the s10. My 6t actually gives me 7h sot which is good for a full day, I would certainly get 10h if I do a reset but I am too lazy specially if I will sell it soon
I love the standard s10. It's still plenty of screen real estate, the battery is still amazing.
I did a complete review if you are interested in watching it,

The Note 9 is much bigger (wider) than the 6T. I know what you mean, as the 6T does feel more comfortable in the hand since it is a smaller device. The S10+ has slightly smaller side bezels, so it is marginally less physically wide than the 6T despite having a larger (wider) display.
The 6T has the longest aspect ratio (19:9) while the Note 9 has 18.5:9 and the S10+ has 19:9.

Looking only at the diagonal length is misleading owing to the differing aspect ratios. Pythagorean Theorem. This is why diagonal sizes are seemingly so much larger these days despite phones not necessarily becoming much larger. Bezel has been replaced with display with the same phone width, and phones have also started becoming slightly longer.
If you were to only consider the 16:9 portion of these displays, then here's a quick summary for comparison (+/- 0.01" for Rounding). Personally, I wouldn't get the S10 since it's a tad small for me.
S10: 5.34"
S10+: 5.63"
Note 9: 5.69"
OP6T: 5.49"
I don't really like the camera cut-out on the S10/S10+ since it makes the notification bar fairly gigantic. The wider cut-out on the S10+ won't make as much a difference as you might think as the actual placement is more important.

You can always adjust the DPI. I find the default to be way too large, so I do the opposite and reduce it on any device I use. You can also independently adjust the font size if you wish. Between those two settings, you should be able to get the right balance for yourself.
hi. what do you think? i'm more willing to buy 7 pro but i dont like edges ..
7t is cheaper , more powerful .. flat screen .. on the other hand 7 pro has better screen res and better dev support
my hatred towards edge comes from s7 edge .. i hated it .. especially green color shift in edged section .. does 7 pro have
the same issue ? color shift in edges?

oneplus 7 without pro is complete garbage if you ask me.
Compare to the 7t, the 7 Pro has a stunning design and a better screen. The difference in performance is not crazy and no screen issue on the 7 Pro.

Edges are green if you turn the phone to left or right, because you change angles. It's like you watch tv from a corner of the room...
Edge to edge screen. GREAT!
Screen 90hz . Awesome. Beautiful and Fast.
Camera it's good. Not the best, but decent for a phone.
Overall it's a Very Good phone.
Get the 7T if it's less expensive
With $150 off promotion still going on (at least in the USA), 7 pro is actually $50 cheaper than 7T?

I was concerned when I was told only black and grey where available at time of purchase but I chose grey because it looks very sleek. It's marketed as mirror grey, the color is more like dark smoked glass, glossy, very reflective, and it has a neat color shift in certain light that appears in purple hues. I use it without a case in certain situations and it definitely is eye catching
I AM SERIOUSLY confused about 2 things. i am sure i will buy Oneplus but confused which to go for Oneplus 7 pro or the Oneplus 7T pro.
ADV- Oneplus 7t pro because of the Macro Lens ( but in few YouTube videos i also saw that the sensor is in the middle of the two cameras in the 7 pro) but some in oneplus community also say that its a hardware matter and not possible to 7 pro with just software updates.
the 855+ processor doesn't bother me really. i wont even feel the + difference
DISADV- $100 more than 7 pro and the Haze Blue color ( i kinda like the nebula Blue)
what to do? i love the macro shots too but paying $100 for it is a bit much. i so wish it was there in 7 pro. kinda frustrating.
I would go with the 7tpro if it doesn't have the rounded screen..The screen on the 7pro really is bother some to be honest..I'm just going to wait for the 8 and move up..
The 7 Pro is currently on sale at OnePlus. The 8GB/256GB is 150$/140€ cheaper if you use op7pro code on checkout. You are also getting a "gift" (Type C Bullets) and free shipping which saves you at the end around 180$/170€.

Gotta say this is a pretty sweet deal
I personally never had a phone with those curved screen and I prefer a flat screen like the 7T but no notch and the higher resolution are also very nice. So its what you really prefer. If it costs even less then take the 7 Pro, its a hell of a device, if the battery holds up I wont change it for 2 years at least. Its a nerly perfect phone for me personally.
I bought the 7t but switched to the 7pro. If you have the extra cash go for the 7pro

Don't know if it's important for u. But right now the 7 pro with 256gb is on Amazon.de for 524€ and the normal oneplus 7 is up for 434€ on sale.
Wow. That's a way better deal. Lowest at OnePlus was around 599€ and this is 60€ cheaper.
I'm using this fantastic phone for over 3.5 years and I'm still impressed with the battery life, although my fingerprint sensor is not working 100% and my main camera not focusing anymore. I'm still glad with the overall performance.
I'm wondering which phone has similar battery life I'm thinking of replacing this phone as the camera and fingerprint issue becomes annoying at times. Which new phone is a good Huawei P30 Pro replacement?
Writing this on my 3 year old P30 pro, too.
Fingerprint sensor - have you tried retraining it? Really make sure you move your finger around to ensure it can recognise your print from so angles. Also, there's a trick I've seen online for improving fingerprint recognition, but possibly at the risk of reducing security slightly. It involves retraining and alternating between your left and right hands so it learns a hybrid of two prints. Somehow it reduces how strict the recognition is.
And I take it you've given the lens a good clean? A dirty lens won't focus. Have you tried it without a case to check the case isn't inhibiting the focus?
As for replacement... the newer Huawei phone are missing Google apps. Samsung's flagships are expensive and the cameras not as good as the P30. The Oppo X5 Pro and Xiaomi 12 Pro both have pretty good front cameras but the rest of the array isn't that great and the front facing cameras are garbage. The Pixel 7 Pro has an impressive camera but early reviews are saying the battery life is not what they claim and plenty of former P30 users are saying it feels like a downgrade!
Basically, there's nothing like the P30 Pro. It really was something very special, and it's no wonder Apple crapped their pants and got the US government to ban Google from supporting Huawei.

Thank you for your kind reply. I cleaned my lens but I think it's a problem that occurred after the Emui 12 update. Didn't try a factory reset (I don't want with all the apps I'm using or is there an easy method to backup and restore all 1:1?)
Fingerprint is probably because of my screen protector and I don't want to remove it because I was lucky to find a full glue, full coverage not only the edges screen protector. Don't know where I can order a new one. Thanks for the tip btw.
I'm looking for a phone with a similar screen on time and a good camera. I don't care if it's slightly worse than the P30 Pro as long as it's good I'm fine with it.
Great battery life is important.
I have recently changed the battery under warranty(last warranty day) and now it's even better, with 2 days battery life possible sometimes. They also changed the screen, so I will be keepin this phone for quite a while longer. Can't find another phone that ticks so many boxes...
