I flashed custom ROM without taking backup of EFS & persist (biggest mistake of my life). In pixel experience ROM I was facing frequent network drop, so I thought of getting back to official firmware. After flashing official moto firmware I lost IMEI, I kept my cool and read some guide about getting back IMEI and then I was able to restore IMEI using pixel experience ROM and I flashed moto g5 persist back which got me VOLTE back. Now I took backup of both and flashed official firmware again and updated to latest version through OTA. then I restored EFS and persist. Now after every 5 minutes my network ia dropping and I have to toggle airplane mode to get network back. I am able to call when my Network is alive, but it is dropping every 5 minutes.
Now I just want to know what is the reason behind this, I think it might be because I am using Moto G5 persist.
if anyone else is facing same problem please comment below. I am full stack web developer and all my life I have been facing challenges and I never back down from any of them. If the solution to thia problem is to create my own custom ROM then I will create one I just need some expert opinion about what is causing this problem exactly.
Thanks
Exactly, even i have the same problem. While playing games like PUBG and GUNS OF BOOM. This is quite frequent and pisses the hell out of me.

I have a problem with my wifi regularly dropping out for a couple of seconds and from searching the forum I am not the only one. The problem is not due to a weak signal as others have reported. The signal is strong up until the problem occurs. It happens more often under heavy load. My phone is rooted but I have not unlocked the bootloader. I have run a number of different ROMs all based on the last 4 or 5 stock ROMS and all have the same problem. Anyway, I have not seen a thread where someone has posted a logcat when this problem occurs so I have captured one.
Any help zeroing in on what is happening would be greatly appreciated. If this is a stock bug then I am considering unlocking and moving to CyanogenMod. If it's hardware based then I would probably get a new phone.
EDIT - Extra information: It happens when the phone is on, has happened after a factory reset and it doesn't seem to matter what battery saving options are enabled/disabled.
Hi Everyone
Bit of help please.
Having problems over the last 20 days or so. The phone keeps powering down completely at random.
I had flashed No Root Stock Debloated/Deodexed N6 ViPER|Atmos Audiophile 1.6 and after a week the above started.
Fully wiped (including data) the N6 and re-installed from a OTG USB through TWRP. After a week the same random shut-downs began again.
Another full wipe and installed ver 1.7 from the above and within a couple of days the shutdowns started again.
Today thought a different ROM may be the answer. Full wipe and tried [MMB29U/Q][6.0.1][STOCK][OMNI][MOKEE][CMTE][LAYERS] FLUENCE HD9 and the shut-downs are still here.
Seems to be getting worse.
Not using layers or anything abnormal - nova launcher and popular apps, nothing strange. No Kernel optimizations.
Really stumped as to what I have done. Wondering if I have a HW fault rather than custom rom or apps. Going to un-root, lock the BL and give Google stock image a go, unless anyone has a suggestion.
TIA
Any water damage that you can think of? Any parts of the phone getting extremely hot?
You could try ordering a new battery, and see if that fixes the issue, as it is not a software issue.
I'm also having a similar issue, but it occurs when trying to open camera and having relatively low charges(%20). I could not pinpoint my issue exactly but generally complete shutdowns caused by battery problems(temperature, voltage, mis-feedback). Like flyeyes says it is probably a defected battery unit.
Grab some logcats or a crash message. Without them the only thing I can advise is that it is one of your apps causing it or a hardware issue.
Have you tried complete stock firmware from Google with no customizations? If so, does it happen then? If it happens on complete stock from Google you might be looking at a hardware issue. If it only happens on custom ROMS after you set them up, then it might be an inconsistency with whatever apps/changes you make to it.
Hello i have a Moto G6 that i brought from ebay for $30 originally $50 because i wasn't told it was google locked so i bypass it and made him give me a discount. It's in flawless condition but it freezes which is why i brought it thinking of just flashing back a rom for a easy fix but the phone never stop freezing. I flashed pie which most people complain was causing the freezing but it actually froze less than when it was on oreo which is weird. I than unlock the bootloader flash back pie after flashing multiple oreo/pie revisions without any luck. Also i install the nova launcher which help just like lineage but eventually it will freeze/bootloop. When i flashed pie i flashed lineage os 16 which did help but the phone still freezes. Since i really need a reliable phone coming from a Z2 play with proximity sensor issues but i can't say it wasn't reliable or not very strong. I got a broken Moto G6 with a crack screen but the device still works and doesn't freeze or bootloop yet so i am going to take the board and put it on my like new Moto G6. I just want a tip that will prevent the device to start freezing or bootlooping in the future. I am thinking flashing pie than flashing lineage os 16 for the long run just like i did with the old board because from my understanding leaving the phone stock on oreo or pie eventually it will cause it to freeze/bootloop and even though you do a factory reset or flash a stock rom it seems like stock firmware over time does permanent damage to the board in some way. That is just my theory, a crazy one but after reading all of this i might be on to something
I have a G6 (XT1925-6) on the latest stock rom (pie). It never freezes or bootloops on me. It runs for weeks at a time without issue.
I suspect you do have a bad board, but I suppose you could maybe try flashing the latest stock rom and see if anything changes.
I can confirm that there are no issues.
Guys,
try to install Chrome Beta and use it as default WebView provider (settings in Developer Options).
For me was a silver bullet: stopped a lot of force closing and random boots.
Good luck!
Hello my friends,
my brother and me have something weird happening on my brothers Mi 9.
Both of us are running the official Pixel Experience Android 11 rom. For my brother the mic is not working, after he turns on the speaker. It wont start working again till the call is hang up and started again. I dont have any problems like this even though we are running the excact same rom.
We also tried clean flashing the rom several times on his phone, but that didnt help either.
He experienced the same issue on the older Pixel experience builds. In whatsapp and telegram the speaker and mic are working fine. Im not sure about MIUI rom.
Do you have any clue what to do or what could be the reason for this strange problem? We would really appreciate any hints!

My Mi9 is hard bricked. A GSI accident. Tried to go from android 10 back to 9 forgetting I was using China firmware.
Can't help you sorry.
I'm New Zealand I need $90 for someone to try an unbrick my device.
I do have an opinion about the Mi9.
Sell it an get a cell with less hardware an software configuration issues.
It drove me nuts. Almost the whole time it worked. I think Xiaomi made them with a few deficiencies.
Customizing them does not seem to help them overcome their issues.
Get a newer cell if you can
Was about to put it as a [Question] but decided to place it as possible troubleshoot and experience for anyone with same problem.
Damn, was not expecting this and out of the blue.
I used my mi11ultra normally today, on Xiaomi.eu 12.5.11.0.
I order from Uber, while i waited, was playing asphalt 9. Then poof, lost my wifi connection. Could use mobile data.
At 30% battery remaining.
Couldn't connect to wifi and decided to reboot my phone.
For a few tries turning on wifi reboots my phone after freezing for a few seconds.
Sometimes it doesnt even turn on(no blue icon)
Turn off phone and let the heat dissipate. it's not hot today, and im using FHD res at 120hz, also haven't been playing for a long time, maybe 30minutes.
Tried restart i wiped daivilk and art cache on twrp.
Tried updating just now to 12.5.12.0 , nothing.
Tried Reset Wifi, bluetooth and mobile, nothing.
It lets me, sometimes, enable wifi, search for networks, connect and the wifi shuts down after about 5 seconds.
Right now as i was writing this and decide charged the phone so i could factory wipe. Im at 60% battery and the issue is gone for now.
I posting BOLD on battery comment because i found it that that was the issue oddly enough.
I'm charging the phone till 100% and will let you know if it happens again. "i hope i don't jinx it."
My greatest fear is that i would have to send it to repairs which takes time.
I Jinxed it . Going to Factory reset.
Watched abit of Netflix and then suddenly it freezed the phone and rebooted automatically.
EDIT: It's a faulty wifi module... Have to send it for repairs

Chinese version. I even flashed original stock Chinese rom 12.5.12.0 and locked bootloader and it freezes and reboots itself when using wifi or bluetooth.

Sounds like it might be a hardware issue if it persists across all ROMs
Do you have a warranty to get a free fix ?

It had warranty, yes, and it was the Wifi module but ultimately i decided to get a refund.
Curiously i read it's a Mi 11 Series issue, if you decide to search in google "mi 11 wifi issue".
So i have to say farewell to Mi 11 Ultra Community.
My decision was done with several annoyances from Xiaomi and not for the hardware itself, all the crazy features and camera are badass.
Lack of optimization,
Missing gestures navigation with different launchers(which other manufactures already fixed long time ago in android 11...)
Generic updates(same changelog for all devices) and lack of transparency.
I still advise my friends and family to get a Xiaomi device for what they get for the price and i keep getting impressed by the hardware in these devices.
Also love the ecosystem and new features being added every MIUI version.
I got a POCO M3 with Android 10 Xiaomi.eu, that works gesture navigation and doesn't need third party apps.
I think it all comes down to software, because in the hardware department there isn't any complain from me.
I might even get a Poco X3 Pro for 170€ for a secondary device and install some AOSP rom there.
This decision might change in the future since Xiaomi said they are implementing a team dedicated for software issues, but not to this device.
Until then goodbye
Just my opinion,
seems like all hardware issues are happening to people who flashed non stock rom's.
Fingerprints before, and now wifi and Bluetooth.
Glad I am with global version and stock rom (tried .eu for a while and found it garbage). fingers crossed to stay happy
