Hi,
Just got the new Xiaomi Mi 6x. Couldnt find any info online regarding rooting it since it was recently released.
Is it possible at the moment to root this device using magisk? if so is there a twrp version i can boot just to install it ?
Will xposed work with this miui version of android ?
will the international version get a stock android rom that i can flash on this mi 6x ?
Thanks & Regards
Edit : already unlocked the bootloader at Xiaomi's MI service center.

magisk is do able.
in fact I did root my mi 6x with magisk, just grab the beta version (magisk 16.7), since the phone is a treble device.
as for twrp, you can get it here (you can even d/l the unofficial LOS 15.1 as well) :
https://www.cyanogenmods.org/forums/forum/xiaomi/mi-6x-wayne/
the annoying part is, whenever you're in miui, you need to format data for twrp to be able to read/write the data partition.
I haven't really play with this phone just yet, and yes I didn't install the lazyflasher as well.
but the good news, this device is bootable with GSI
as for exposed, I had no luck with systemless exposed... got bootloop on the MI screen.
but maybe that's because I didn't flash the lazy flasher, or should I learn about exposed on a treble device
Can someone give me mi stock recovery 3.0 for this device?

Hello,
Is there any progress on xposed on mi 6x. I have a new mi 6x and MIUI 9.6.6.0 Chinese and English stock ROM is pre-installed. And it is andorid 8.1. Can I install xposed this phone (MIUI 9 and android 8.1)? Should I stay at MIUI 9. Because I get MIUI 10.2.5 OTA upgrade but I haven't applied this update yet. If xposed is not compatible with MIUI 10, should I stay at MIUI 9.6.6?
Thanks

Hi!
I think, first what you need - make TWRP backup with maximum partitions set. You can use for this action this TWRP, folder contain scripts for run TWRP from PC and flash recovery to phone (used TWRP-3.2.3-0810-XIAOMI6X-RU-wzsx150-hypeartist.img).
Use run TWRP only. For run TWRP you need enable USB debugging on phone, connect to PC, allow access from this PC and run Run-TWRP.bat
After boot to TWRP you need not allow modifications on system partition and make full backup. This backup need copy to PC from internal storage and keep for future.
When you make backup, you can what you want - you can install Magisk via run TWRP from PC or upgrade and test MIUI 10

Hi! I'm not use MIUI and cannot answer on this question.
I take all backups (TWRP and partition backups) and tried to install xposed and I failed all of my tests.
I have mi 6x and using original stok ROM MIUI 9.6.6.0. I haven't flashed TWRP yet. I just boot TWRP with fastboot commands. I installed Magisk 19.1.
First I tried to install standard Xposed (probably works with SuperSU, but I am using Magisk). Installed Xposed installer.apk and flashed xposed-v90-sdk27-arm64-beta3.zip from TWRP. Result is bootloop.
I flashed xposed-uninstaller-20180117-arm64.zip and bootloop solved.
Second I tried to install XposedInstaller_3.1.5-Magisk.apk and flashed xposed-v90.2-sdk27-beta3-topjohnwu.zip from TWRP and result is bootloop.
I flashed xposed-uninstaller-20180117-arm64.zip and but bootloop not solved. So I restore TWRP backup (boot, system and data partitions) and bootloop solved.
I tried several different things but all resulted as bootloop.
Any idea how to install xposed to this system?

Xposed need a DEODEXED rom for working and MIUI is a ODEXED rom so xposed don't work and that's why you got bootloop
As this device supports Project Treble, it is possible to flash and boot generic system images.
Things needed:
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 with unlocked bootloader and twrp recovery
Instructions:
1. Make a system and vendor backup in TWRP
2. Download any A only GSI from web or here
For now, AospExtended is the most stable and has only 1 bug i.e. no out volte. Flash any other gsi at your own risk. If you do, please report which one you flashed and what are the bugs in it.
You can always restore your backup to come back to stock rom.
3. Extract the gsi if it is in rar/zip format to get system.img
4. Copy/move this system.img to your fastboot directory
5. Connect your phone in fastboot mode and enter the following command
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
TWRP can also be used to flash system.img to system partition, if it doesn't work, try with fastboot
6. Press and hold volume down + Power on to force reboot to twrp
7. Now, if you want flash gapps, make a system backup in twrp, reboot to recovery, and restore this backup you just made
8. Flash gapps now
10. Reboot to system
If there is no audio in calls, flash call audio fix
If it doesn't boot for you, try flashing magisk
res
Thanks for this , hope to see fully stable AEX soon ??

Bugs
videos recorded with the default camera do not play
Update: Install the NGCam_7.4.104-v1.8-fix.apk Once the application is installed open it take a photo close the application, this will create a folder in the SD called Gcam, inside the Gcam folder create a folder and call it Config7 and inside this place the XML file Redmi 8 GCam 7.4.104.314953318 G_Modder.xml restart the application and you're done
the only bugs that have is slow motion record not work for now
Automatic brightness does not work
Update: to fix the automatic brightness on your device, after installing the ROM, put in the folder SYSTEM-OVERLAY the treble-overlay-xiaomi-redmi 8.apk and set the permission for the apk on 644 ( use root explorer ) and reboot ..... problem solved
the necessary files are at the end of the tutorial
Steps
Note: I did the installation coming from Mui 12.EU, and there was no problem in the installation process or in the boot process
If you come from Miui12 .EU or any other GSI Rom go to step 4, if you come from the Rom stock follow the this steps
1- First make a backup of all the necessary information in case something goes wrong you can easily recover, Charge the battery at least 80%
All your data will be deleted during the process
2- Unlock the Bootloader if you have not already done it or do not know how to, follow this post: http://en.miui.com/unlock/
3- Install a custon recovery, if you dont know how to, follow this post: https://c.mi.com/thread-2850424-1-0.html
4- Make wipe only to Cache, Dalvik, System, Data and Internal SD
5- Format data,( if it doesn't format the data you will have bootloop) then Reboot into Recovery
6- Copy all the files to the phone (Havoc-OS-v4.X-20200522-Official-arm64-ab.img you can find it by unpacking the zip), Magisk,Magisk Path Fix, Permisiver, Certification Patch.zip, opengapp (recommended nano or pico)
7- Install system image to system partition (on TWRP go to install-Install image-System) .
8- Flash Permisiver v5 (on TWRP go to install selec permisver_v5.zip)
9- Resize system partition to flash opengapps (on TWRP go to Wipe-Advanced Wipe-Select System on the list-Repair or Change File System-Resize)
To Root
once you have installed an resized the system
10- Flash the Magisk path fix (on TWRP go to install selec MagiskA11_PATH_fix.zip)
11- Flash Magisk (on TWRP go to install selec Magisk-v23.0.zip)
12- Flash Opengapps
1-Flash Certification Patch
1 - Make a wipe to Cache and Dalvik
1- Reboot
The boot process takes 5 to 10 minutes the first boot, in case of any problem in any of the stages you can reinstall Miui version fastboot with Mi flash tool and start again

In my particular case it was not necessary to flash vbmmeta as I comment in the OP I come from Miui12.eu, but it is necessary to avoid problems whatever the ROM you have before installing Havoc is to have the latest version of TWRP and have configured a lock pattern security in ROM access and in the flashing process I didn´t have problems

Ok the first thing is that you have the bootloader unlocked, if it is that way regardless of the stock version of the rom you have when installing twrp you must install magisk to ensure that the Recovery remains fixed in this link is a tutorial on how to install it, that tutorial was made by me and approved by Xiaomi https://c.mi.com/thread-2850424-1-0.html ,
install the latest version of TWRP and as it says in the tutorial then flash magisk, once you have everything ready install miui 12.eu do not do many settings except create a blocking pattern when starting the rom this is used by TWRP to be able to decrypt the internal memory
All ready do the steps as indicated in this tutorial (If you come from Miui12 .EU or any other GSI Rom go to step 4)
If for some reason you have a problem, use MI flashtool to return to the stock rom, but make sure to use the snapdragon method, select MIflash and when opening the screen at the bottom select clean all, this will prevent you from blocking the bootloader and you can start again without problems (note when selecting clean all at the end it will give you an error for not being able to block the bootloader and the device will restart, do not worry it will restart normally without problems)

Hey!
I thought about something this afternoon : if I flash HavocOS with adb and fastboot, we also haven't any problems with TWRP installation ! But the problem is that I haven't found any wiki to do that and i won't transform my phone to a beta tester....
Thanks a lot for your help but I think i will wait until a custom rom of LineageOs or HavocOs...
Hi . I am currently running havoc is 3.12 on my device I tried multiple times to flash this ROM without any success. Is not installing open gapps a problem ? Anyways when I flash this rom without flashing the certification patch I get a no os installed warning before rebooting from orange fox recovery but when I flash the certification I no longer get this message. Etherway I am getting stuck on a bootloop . How can I solve this issue? I did all the steps correctly wiping the correct partitions and formating data . Edit I wiped cache and dalvik after the bootloop without any success .

Hey !
I had the same bug before installing the v3.12 version.
I think it goes from the Permissiver v5. I think we should flash it to have the Havoc v4.
I'll test later if I have the time to do this and I'll inform you about the possibilities.
Hope I can help.

How: just flash Magisk path fix before magisk and it's good to go.
So I really new into this, I didn't really know what I was doing but i tried to install Pixel Experience on my device. After some struggle it seems that I managed to flash the rom into system. I followed the instruccions to the part where you wipe all data from the phone, but then it got stucked and didn't start the OS, maybe system got corrupted or something bc when I try to reinstall the rom cmd tells me "This partition doesn't exists".
As far as i know there isn't a version of twrp for Redmi note 10 5g so all I have is Xiaomi ADB Fastboot Tools. Pls help me.
What firmware do you want to install?
Can you elaborate on your installation process, guide instructions and firmware sources?
1:
Do not need to use twrp, general Fastboot command to brush the GSI on the line, after installation to play some black screen patch and settings.
GSI always jumps to Fastboot and Recovery after booting, indicating that there is a problem with GSI, replace it with another variant or downgrade version.

My process was a total mess bc I didn't knew my device had 2 partitions in system and the post didn't clarify that, so I found this other tutorial (
). Everything went smoothly, the installation was completed and I wiped all data, rebooted to system, and got stuck on a loop of the Redmi logo. I assumed something gone wrong and I tried to go fastboot again and when i try to install the image sends me the error "This partition doesn't exists".
I don't have the precise commands on cmd I wrote bc i restarted my pc. Sorry.

Some people have given feedback that this phenomenon occurs with v415.
I tried it and this problem also appeared. They said that dropping down to V414 would not cause this problem.
I don't know if the latest version has a fix?
I have not tried this firmware again and am currently using lineageos19.1

Pixel Experience Plus v415.1 is also reported not to work on MediaTek devices. v414 is the latest working version.

This tutorial works. But not ABSOLUTELY. I did get stucked on bootloader ever after flashing 3 different images. I think that problem was caused because versions of bootloader in my original ROM and installed GSI image didn't match(I was trying to flash latest Android version but my original ROM was Android 11). So I tried flashing the GSI image with Android version 11 and that worked. Therefore, I wanna say that just don't worry just keep flashing and you'll see the Love One.
