Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts

Nope. Samsung Pay won't work if you root your device or install a custom OS.

Once rooted, you will never be able to use Samsung Pay, ever again. Same with secure folder. Google Pay should still work with Magisk though.

Google Pay will work, but Samsung Pay will not.

Android Pay update breaks functionality on rooted devices

I had Android Pay working on my rooted 5.1 rom using the setup android pay without root/use it with root method previously. I updated Android Pay to version 1.0.103342659 via the Google Play Store today, and I now get an error when I try to pay for things. Can anyone confirm this?

SM-J327T Root Method & Custom Recovery REQUEST

Hopefully now that we got our own set of threads, someone will find root....
Any root methods posted for the SM-J327T will also work for the SM-J327T1 since they are the same exact device. But anyone from the previous thread that was under Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) please continue posting on this new thread. I have requested that a moderator move the old thread to here to avoid any confusion from new people looking for a root method for this device.
I would totally help build a rom for this device, that is once we can root it. However i don't think ill ever be purchasing another samsung again.

Same here, im going back to Motorola.
Any old unlocked phones? DeviceManagement if so pm me about them. Im stuck on metro. Not sure for how much longer though. And I don't know why they insist on locking us out of OUR phones. It is a pain, such a pain. And the reason i even got this phone is to fix my service issues. However they are just as bad.

CF autoroot for sm-j327t & sm-j327t1
for sm-j327t (tmobile):https://download.chainfire.eu/1156/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-j3popeltetmo-j3popeltetmo-smj327t.zip

This will trip knox and void your warranty you have been warned. Feel free to test the device with the corresponding file. it may work it may not. if it does not work it will say secure check fail and prevent you from booting into android or recovery. if that is the case use the stock rom file for your phone to fix it. I will compile a quick fix that will not delete all your apps in a little bit. after that i will post the files you can use so you can recover from a brick.

The bootloader is probably unlocked on that model. Apparently all international bootloaders are unlocked for Samsung.

i am not totally sure that its unlocked. our device has a exynos chipset and for some reason it is locked. but i am starting to think that samsung messed up some code so even if your flashing something knox wont trip for some reason. but if anyone has the money feel free to test the international version that will be the only way to know for sure.

Verizon OEM unlock?

Figured I'd name a post to see if anyone has it. I do NOT have it on my Verizon branded phone from Best Buy. Anyone else care to chime in? Thanks.

If they get root on the SD, will it be possible to flash TWRP and a custom ROM, or is that still out of reach?

Not really...search the threads for root...the discussion for root is not really updates but a request for support...
The mods are in the process of making carrier specific threads...

The carrier is irrelevant. The only thing that makes any difference from a root point of view is the SoC. Exynos=root. Snapdragon=weeping.
There is a thread where they're working on Snapdragon root. Use the search function and see if you can find it.

There is root on the S8+ but no unlocked bootloader. Its a convoluted root process.

If you planned not to use apps like Samsung pass, Samsung pay, secret folder. Then you can root, but otherwise if you plan to use these later on. Then don't root your device, doing that will permanently trigger the safety thing in the KNOX chip and once that happens the Knox chip will be permanently disabled and will not work ever again, so since KNOX chip is disabled then these apps wont work either ever again. Since they require the Knox chip to function.

Dual sim for modding?

Hi! I might buy this phone soon, but I'm seeing most of the ones sold by ebay are dual sim, I remember back in the day it gave trouble if you wanted to root, install custom recovery and custom rom. Is that still happening? Thanks
And by the way, I never use samsung pay or google pay, but I use my bank's app to use the phone as an nfc credit card. It works on my rooted s7 edge, should it work if I buy the version that is not from my country? Would flashing my contrie's rom fix this?
Thanks
Nobody?
