This is by far the biggest surprise my Redmi 2 gave me:
This game shows the min requirements as 2GB RAM. But yeah I do know we could somehow manage with 1 GB. So, for a better performance I was using CM 13 and decided to start playing the game. But the game lagged a lot, battles were like impossible to be made. I even tried few other ROMS like Nexus, RR, Slim and Snapshot( this was a bit better). I wasn't satisfied but then I shifted to MIUI as I wanted to test the new MIUI 8. But when I started playing the game here, it stopped lagging :fingers-crossed: ( It seldom lags). I couldn't believe it. My friend asked me if its lagging on my phone while he was using RR. I told him the same and it surprised him the same way it did to me. Did anyone else notice this? Anyone with custom ROMS able to play lag-free?
i'm able. it's ok in the most of the time. but my redmi 2 is pro version.

custom roms....
Orion mm latest build (cam also good)
tipsy
and plus point in these custom roms ---u can use fake gps also...i used n tested...so i m saying...
I love the pure Android experience, but I also came back to MIUI (now MIUI 8 beta) because apps seems to lag less.
I'm playing Pokémon GO but my problem is with GPS, sometime it doesn't fix or stuck and I need to restart the game.
YOu can try on miui 7 i play on that
I installed Orion in my phone and performance on Pokémon GO is worse than with MIUI 7/8.
i'm currently playing in miui 8 latest update, and it seems fine, except when you are under the sun and charging the phone then the cpu throttles xD

I had that problem early on when I just started using MIUI. Later, it went well. I used to turn from High accuracy to other modes and then switch back. It worked sometimes.

This could really help. Btw, how about CM11 then? Have you tested on it?
In your opinion what is the fastest and most stable rom for the mi 5 not including miui. I'm on cm13 which seems good but no tap fingerprint to go home is annoying. Cm14.1 was so slow compared to miui and cm1 3.
Try Resurrection Remix 5.8.1.Got a lot more features than Lineage, and stable enough for daily use.

Other roms are based on los /cm. Also los has the biggest user base atm , thus more people reporting problems and rom becoming more stable. If you're not looking for a specific rom I'd stick with los. Using it as my daily driver I have no problems whatsoever.

U can try Ressurection Remix 5.8.1 its worth a try
I think Lineage OS will be great in couple of weeks ahead. Still waiting for great implementation of Android N.
MIUI is not stable enough for me. Still on development.
Maybe next month both ROM will be more stable on N.

How about major features like camera, ois, gps, battery usage ?
I want to try it, but for now I still wait and see for both MIUI and LOS.
Is notification shade on LOS is fully implemented from Nougat ?
I see notification on Nougat is very cool

Everything in lineage is stable, and the notification shade that you are talking about is perfectly working, you can directly reply to anyone without opening the app.
For camera, the quality of stock cam is poor when compared to other cams like snap, etc.
The famous in-call volume issue is resolved in next weekly build. Only thing that needs to be taken care of is the misbehaving quick charge support.
Qc works but only when your screen is off. Devs are working on it and it will be fixed soon.
Battery backup on nougat is also fine, but its not better than MM (i think). That's why I m still on MM and getting around 9h of on screen time, and meanwhile also enjoying xposed :fingers-crossed:

That's what I waiting for, notification access.
I'll be waiting for that quick charge. It's a major feature that must be working.

I only got around 4h SOT on MIUI MM Stable.
With so many pie roms , i dont know which one is good, i tried some but they all had bugs , do anyone know of any pie rom which i can use as a daily driver ?
It's little to early for bugless Android pie ROM, respected developers working to make it stable.
Currently i am using Arrow OS and it's working good, battery backup is also good.
I was using Havoc OS but latest Pie update gave tremendous standby time heat and battery drain rather than that Havoc OS is best ROM with many features. I saw someone saying using custom kernel ROM performance is good. I haven't tried it but if that works then it's pretty good ROM as Android Pie based daily driver.
Use arrow os it has good performance and battery life and it can be used as daily driver. I am using it for more than a week, but Volte doesn't work?
Stable ROM for santoni
Official Reveneg OS is most stable one. I find it better than Havoc OS ( serious heating and battery draining issue) and Arrow OS ( Heating issue ). Check Tech Office YouTube Channel for it's download link and Review.

Everything works, but the default interactive governer doesn't sleep and battery drains very fast. There doesn't seem to be system update in settings either.

For me, I used Arrow and Havoc. I find it better than those two. I backuped this rom and I can switch to other better Rom If I found. I'm keeping eye on this Rom's next update Ver. too. I was charging my device when I read your Reply. At that time my battery was at 61%. I removed the charger and then went to search for more Posts and Rom's And After that watched some youtube videos about custom boot Logo for Redmi 4(my device) And after almost 25-30 mins I checked my Battery Level again. It was at 59%. I don't know if it's too abnormal or not. I find it Ok (at least for an early build Pie rom for Santoni).
Do you have any better Rom to suggest? I would love to try them.?
Use arrow os I've tried plenty of roms and find it's pretty stable and gives good battery backup.

Good thing we have Android pie un officially even if we are stuck on Nougat officially. But i do know some Custom Roms come with one issue or the other, customization over battery life etc
I am really loving MIUI 10, cant complain of the battery life since i have never owned a phone with these insane SOT. But for the love of flashing i am tempted to have some pie!
Can someone be kind enough to tell me what i will have to trade off for installing an Android pie rom, pros and cons?
have tried almost 3 custom roms, no. cons, only 1 bug was there amoung all three, was volume control during call not works. rest everything is superb. Pros:- Good battery Backup, Good performance, very smooth, too much customization and lot of.
cons:- only 1 bug cant control volume during call.
Which of the Pie Roms do you suggest i use. For customizations and batterylife.
Go for havoc os,

OK, in-call volume is still not fixed in custom PIE roms but is there a workaround solution?
I have given Havoc a try, blown away by all the customizations. Battery life aint bad too, but that echo problem just spoils it all. I tried the fix but i guess no hope. I really hope it gets fixed.
Mi Max3 is getting Global Miui Pie updates, maybe something is cooking up in the kitchen for us too....hopefully.

You being a good developer know it well how to solve the issue.... but don't know why user are still facing it.
May be Xiaomi did something in Hardware due to which Different user are having Different experience and even Xiaomi are also not able to solve this issue and hence NOT updated a single android upgrade for Mi Max 2.

I liked the overall experience, but sad part was couldn't get root locked..as I wanted to access banking app, netflix, over and above battery charging very slow or one has to keep it idle to get it faster (that is normal not actual fast charge), battery management also not up to mark, Camera not working getting blur crop images so may be those graphics drivers not got installed properly or chose properly .. if some of those bugs get solved i am happy to get back.. sound, feel, interface everything smooth and great... customization at fullest ... I have gone through Dotos, Resurrection remix, Havoc ...and now returned to MIUI .. all custom rom have had something to bug about ...but if one can get mastered to flashing and installing app then custom rom is place to be out of MIUI

If this is the case then we don't need LOS, just debloated stock rom. Advantage - the camera quality stays.
P.s. I don't have any heating, lags or stutter. But I didn't update the system with the latest update.
