I have been using firmware finder to update my PRA-LX1. Now as I can see I don't receive any official updares. I'm stuck at security patch June. Even though July update is available when I check for updates in System Update it sais 'No updates'.
Any solutions?

I guess you are on Oreo.
Go to the firmware finder and find the list of firmwares and which correspond to the July security update, and check if it is approved for installation,if it is then go ahead and press update through VPN and follow the instructions.
Choose OTA not FullOTA if you are on Oreo, since it also took me a while to get the update.

so you're saying that firmware finder works on oreo if I choose the OTA firmware?
the problem is that firmware finder doent seem to work on oreo. Even though the update is approved, with vpn started the System Update app says 'No updates'.

I have tried different types of the Dload method but no one ses to work. I tried something from the WAS-LX1 SD CARD UPDATE GUIDELINE but using an update for this phone. Well, even if that update is available for update, with the dload method it says that 'The update package is not compatible with the current version. Please download the right package and try again." And I have tried that with about 10 other updates witch were available in firmware finder.. but I got the same results.
It seems that no method of updating is working for me right now... Or maybe I am doing the dload method wrongly.
I can't find specific stept for the dload method on the forums. On some of them is even said that dload method doesn't work on this phone all together.

Hmm,well as a last resort try to use dload with a service firmware.
I am sending you links for PRA-L31,the one I have, and you can check if you have that one by going into the engineering menu, and you do that by going into the dialer and typing this: *#*#2846579#*#*,and then going to Veneer Informations and Version Info.
http://androidhost.ru/6uc - this is for the July security patch firmware (aka the newest one),but it will take 8 hours to download,at least it took that time for me
https://mega.nz/#F!nwhAWDjC!cNovAN6dKLlO_YZ9fjMbzQ - this is for the firmware you are probably running right now
All of these links are from 4PDA forums.
https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=809771&view=findpost&p=65929494 - here you can find instructions on how to do it,if you don't understand them basically you need to firstly apply the UPDATE.APP from the first update_sd.zip you find in the dload folder, and then do the vendor UPDATE.APP which you can find in the PRA-L31 folder.
I am sorry if you cannot completely understand what am I saying,I am typing this in a bit of a rush so...

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This actually helped me restore my phone to normal. I installed the B363 version from the MEGA link ( I had B360 installed. my mistake was that I initially installed the wrong version with firmware finder, B360 instead of B363). But once I installed the B360 I got a notification to update to B369.
Thank you for your help!

Thank you for this simple and useful guide. :good:
I was able to successfully update back to stock using Normal upgrade *#*#2846579#*#* dload method (not force with 3 buttons) and service firmware 8.0.0.363(C432). After that, got OTA for 8.0.0.369.. Everything went fine, except device name changed automatically to P9 lite 2017
Is this okay?? The same happens with service firmware you mentioned 8.0.0.369(C432)...
Beside that, Power+Vol+ gives me no more eRecovery, just EMUI with options to wipe data or reboot..
My device: P8 lite 2017 PRA-LX1 (PRA-L31)

Yeah that is good, since this is a firmware which was released around Croatia,Albania,Czech Republic and etc,but there it is called P9 Lite 2017 instead of P8 Lite 2017 so it is no problem.
And I believe you enter eRecovery by holding Volume Up while plugging in your phone to a charger or USB port on a computer,at least that is how I did it before on Nougat, haven't touched any recoveries I fixed my phone with DC Phoenix.

Hi,
I am reasonably computer literate, but almost new to Android, ROMs, rooting etc.
I live in Australia and have a new P9 bought in an online shop in HK. (You can only buy grey P9's in AU, I wanted silver.)
My P9 is EVA - L19 C636 B150 . I understand what all this means, I've done a couple of day's reading on this forum.
The phone is unlocked, and seems to accept my temporary Kogan SIM all right. But I remember seeing somewhere the word "Vodafone" when I was exploring. I can't find it anymore.
I would like to know if I can expect to receive automatic updates from anywhere. I will not be using Vodafone SIM.
I have read somewhere on this forum that there already is firmware B168 and B170 for L19 C636. When I try Settings/Update/Check for Update there is no update.
If I eventually decide not to wait for automatic update and do it manually, do I have to update first to B168 and then to B170?
I have read about two methods of updating -
1. downloading the update file, pasting it to SD card dload folder, pressing the three keys for 8 seconds, etc. For this method I do not know where to get the update files from.
2. using the Huawei Updater utility available from this forum. I don't understand this process, changing proxy IP address, etc.
Could somebody please explain or point me in the right direction. Thanks

Here are download to the latest firmwares, u can jump to B170 from B150.
I Think that the latest OTA to L19C636 is B150, these firmwares are direct from the Huawei database.
The easy whay to upgrade manually is:
1. Download B170 update.zip and extract it to desktop.
2. Create a folder on your sd card and name it dload
3. Put the file from the firmware u extracted called update.app in the folder u created on sd card called dload.
4. Open dailpad and type *#*#2846579#*#* and choose option 4 and update.
Thanks very much, Mostar088.
I assume that the SD card can have other stuff on it. Or does it have to be empty?
You can have other stuff on SD Card. No problem.

OK, I have downloaded and unzipped the package. The update.app is there all right, - almost 3GB - that does not sound like an update in Windows terminology - is it a complete replacement of the original firmware?
I did not find any description of the changes covered by the update. Is it possible to find out somewhere?
One general question - on this forum, is "firmware " exactly the same as "ROM" ?
thanks

Thanks again. The B170 update doesn't seem to do much for me. Could you please post the link for B168 - maybe there is something more important in that update.
Is there any system in these updates? Why do they jump from B150 to B168 to B170?

I'm new to Huawei. I've recently got myself a P9, supplied by EE in the UK. I'm on C440B138 build. Trying to work out how the firmware versions work, coming from using a Galaxy Note 4 its a little confusing. My phone has no network (EE) branding but in using this build am I locked to EE, can I not manually update? Could someone point me in the right direction as pages like this .... http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-stock-rom-eva-l19c636b168-t3419586 ... seem very overwhelming with firmwares. This build I am using has a security patch level of June 2016. I'm not overly interested in N, it'll eventually roll out but I'd quite like to be a little more up-to-date. Apologies for having to ask, I have looked but I can't find a definitive answer to my question(s). Many thanks in advance.
Hi all,
I'm a complete newbie here so would appreciate any kind responses being kept suitably simple. I've just bought (early January) a P9 in the UK, sim free, unbranded running EVA-L09C432B166. Its last security update is July 2016.
I came to this phone as a warranty replacement for a Nexus 6P boot-looped by the December Andriod 7.1.1 update on the basis it would get Android 7.0 soon. However, there is no sign of this via the updater or the new HiCare app. I've tried installing full versions of B182 (though I might need this as a step to Nougat), B360 and B361 from Firmware Finder using the dload method (volume up/power button and dialler method) but they all fail at around 37-40%. Does anyone have any ideas whether the B166 version will ever get an OTA update to Andriod 7.0 (Huawei reply with the same general statements about it being rolled out in batches) or can advise what I am doing wrong when trying to update manually?
Thanks in advance!!

Try installing B182 MM and than procede to these steps. This is how I managed to go from b182 to b361 (than I got an OTA update to B387 ):
Update to Nougat B360/B361 using Huawei Updater
Only works on B182 or B360
- Only works CUST 432
- Only works EVA-L09 Single SIM
- Only works Unrooted devices and locked bootloader

9. Back to main HiSuite windows and click on "System update"
10. Press "Update" and wait download firmware. This smartphone reboot and start upgrade!
Thanks very much, but...
Hi, thanks very much for your response. Unfortunately I appear to have two problems with it.
Firstly I have been unable to update to B182, it does not appear in Hi Suite or Updater and I have not been able to update via dload as the update fails.
Secondly, I run a Mac not Windows machine so no Hi Suite for me I understand.
Im afraid you will have to use a windows machine. Following these steps you will have zero problems. I was also on B182 and all went smooth without a single problem.
edit: sorry,, I read "I have been able to update to b182". which version are you using right now?? what methods have you used to get to b182? and lastly what errors have you encountered?
I'm on B166. No update shows in update or HiCare. I have tried updating to B182 using firmware finder using. dload. I have tried using both power/volume up buttons and the dialler method with dload in both internal memory and on SD card. All methods fail at around 37-40%..
I am not an expert at all so any advice would be great, thanks.

I'm resurrecting this thread as am in exactly the same boat Steve. Did you ever figure this out?
Contacting Huawei customer services, they were cagey saying the update would be rolled out in batches then when I gave my IMEI number to find out, they became very cagey refusing to confirm or deny it would be updated at all..
Considering returning my new (cheap deal) P9 if it cant/won't be updated to N and EMUI 5.0...
S
After lots of 'pushing' by Twitter message. Huawei confirmed update process commenced in Q1 of 2017 but they would not commit to whether it would end within that period. They confirmed that my P( would be updated and that if it wasn't updated by the end of the process they would push it manually to my IMEI. SO ti does appear I will get it - eventually.
Just a little bit to add to the mix, I sent my imei to Huawei today only to be told that I'd bought the phone from carphone warehouse and the firmware id's slightly different and won't be updated until May, they wouldn't say what the difference is as my phone is still an open market version! Frustrated is an understatement I thought I was getting a unlocked phone!!! Think I'll be sticking to a Google phone in the future, at least you know where you stand!
Someone help me! Please!
Why I can't flash anything with dload method? I have tried lots of things: stock recovery, twrp, erecovery, proxy. But nothing. I tried to use firmware finder too for download an update fullota (of course, all the 3 ZIP package) and tried to put in dload the zips, the update.apps, but won't work. For dload I mean the three buttons method. It gives me always failed, at 5%, with the error "Software Install Failed". Please help me! I tried to toggle signature too to the firmware with huawei firmware extractor but not working. How I can flash firmware (especially firmware founded with firmware finder) using dload method? Please help me and my friends! Thank you to everyone!

I'm sorry didn't get the last part. Can you clarify it please ?
I'm on the same boat as the op. With the firmware finder I can only find PRA-LX1C33B130 but like op said, it stops at 5%. The firmware for my phone is PRA-LX1C33B120, but I can't find it anywhere. Right now my phone is bricked because I really can't find any version to install it.
Update firmware Finder, select the update you want and hit "check......" then it will now ask you for IMEI compatibility check
For me, Ive found more than 10 firmwares, I'm on B110 and there is up to b125... Nevertheless I can't install the proxy add-on, I can't use their "register with dns" feature, and I can't past the 5% threshold on dload flash. It seems to be not working at all for pra-lx1. I'm on stock B110 update (phone came with b100 and the B110 update was a legal ota without any mods).
Did you try to send a mail to huawei support team? Explain that you are a dev and you need to stock rom. They may send you a link share it please!

That option is on android right ? I can't use it, so I was trying with the windows version but it doesn't have any option for checking the firmware (or at least i'm not finding it). ~
Well after you said that there is a option to check the firmware the only one that I found (PRA-LX1C33B130) when I checked the firmware it said that It was not approved to install. I guess that is why it stops at 5% ? maybe ? hopefully the firmware status goes to approved somewhere in the neaaarr future.

Hi... I cant find a way to upgrade sucessfully from MM to N in my device. ..
I tried both Mostar method (via Huawei Updater and via Firmware Finder) which are shown here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9-plus/how-to/easy-guide-to-upgrade-vie-l29c636-to-t3538540 :
When I try the H.U. method, it seems that the ROM URL provided is not valid, so in the Hisuite app I get "internet conection problem" message.
When I try the F.F. method, it seems that the app has changed a little bit, so I dont find the functions explained by Mostar.
I tried another method with F.F. too, by using proxy option and vpn option. In order to follow Mostar instructions I have searched the C636B320 version in F.F., but i got an error message cause apparenly that the version were deleted on the servers.
So I tried with others, (like B391, and all versions of B362 and B370, always "fullOTA-MF") but always I had issues. In some cases the new version has downloaded but at install, I got an error and nothing happens. In another cases when downloads the upgrade it stops at 70% and closes the system upgrade app.
I just search and read all in this forum, and honestly I dont understand enough to apply C432 or C20 methods to my phone version. So I ask you for help, please.
I'm stuck with a modern model phone that apparently will have an Android "O" upgrade in the world soon, but I still in MM...
Thanks in advance!

I managed a couple of months ago to flash B362 to get EMU 5.0 via FF and worked fine.
Since then I've tried every method (except TWRP) to get to B390 non PV version.
Always get download failed...
So tried Auto DNS, Manual DNS, Proxy and downloaded files into Dload folder ... Phone updater found relevant firmware but either download failed or package mismatch or something.
B390 latest valid firmware for L29C636 so can someone tell me how to get to this version and what is the difference between the FullOTA MF version and the PV one...I think a few members would like to understand that.
you must update to other version first
try update to B370 then B380 then B390
Ok thanks to Mostar088 thread on updating from MM to N...he says
"You have to use Proxy method and the firmware must be approved. If u click Check Firmware Access. When u go to Nougat from MM u must use FullOTA-MF-PV. 2.220gb
Use B362 to install.
If u use Proxy method, in Settings enable Use Proxy for install , when it finds the update in Settings - Updater do NOT click on Update but click back one step and then click on Menu, in there choose Download Latest Full Packege.
Then click update but when it starts click Paus and remove proxy settings, then click Resume Update."
As I was on Nougat B362 and thought I was correctly using all the FF methods I noticed Mostar in his quote above mentioned a couple of steps not covered anywhere else. I followed it to the absolute letter and was finally able to update to B390 EMU 5.0.1...
Many thanks to Mostar088 as I had been pulling my hair out.
hey guys i hope you can help me with this lil problem.
I was flashing update with just fail messages so i decide to install the same (eva-l19C6005B135) BUT it was the D007 (my phone has D002) and it was ok, after the update the phone restarts but now the wifi isn't working( it does turn on but doesn't show any wifi available).
btw the phone says D002 is installed (weird) (CUSTC605D002)
everything is just working fine, i restore the net config and restarted the phone but still the same, no wifi

You mean eva-l19C6005B135 (c605), not eva-l19C6005B135 (c6005)?
Anyway, this is old Android 6 / EMUI 4, why don't you upgrade to Android 7?
If you have valid SIM card and WiFi, no OTA for update coming?
Check under Settings / System Updates.
You can also check from HiSuite if it offers you a newer version to install
Also, switch off, connect to charger, press and keep Vol+, switch on by Pow, and check from eRecovery: Download and install latest firmware and recovery, what it offers to install
You can also try to install by DLOAD, L19 c605 eg b394 - for DLOAD it must be FullOTA, MF-PV (must be PV), package number #109400, as on screenshot from Firmware Finder

the same error... "Incompatibility with current version. Please download the correct update package" with the version that you said, i dont know what to do now
here are the steps that i did:
1-downloaded update.zip (just this file)
1.1 unzip it
2-put it on sd(dload folder)
3-enter download mode and try to install it
do i need to download the other files?
do i need to format my sd again? because it have some other files in it, but with the ota b135 it jus install it fine over and over again

Sorry, don't know the situation with c605 ROMs.
IMO, you should try to flash FullOTA-MF-PV but the MM buiild, but I cannot find by Firmware Finder any MM PV build for your c605 cust (hence I also don't know how did you flash that D007 at the first place?!)
You could also rebrand to eg c432, there are many more stock firmwares for c432 - but for rebranding you will first need to unlock Bootloader
PS: For DLOAD, you must download and put to the DLOAD folder all update* files you find for the given build, not just the first update.zip file- if you didn't do so, that was maybe the reason for your issues with WiFi

how can i unlock the BL? the only method that i think will work is send an email to huawei as a request for the code :/ or paying 20$ for chimera software and unlock it(i don't know if it will work anyway)
but for now im going to download all the files again for a second try and yes, im sure that's why my wifi if failing, i downloaded a ota (not full ota) with a different D007 (mine is D002) because there is not any MM rom for c605 just that one from firmware finder rewrite (desktop version)

Please check older threads under the same P9 Q/A subforum (and/or in the Guides subforum) where you opened your own thread - every week or so somebody asks the same questions about codes for Bootloader (just curious why nobody wants first to invest his own time to search for the answers
Not specific for P9 but same for the other Huawei/Mate models (excluding the newest models released alreadyvwith Pie)
Hint: DC Unlocker or Ministry of solutions, price is not 20 but 4 or 5 Euros

All three update*.zip files must not be unzipped, just copy them as zip files to DLOAD folder, do not create any subfolders
Do not use L09 file, just update.zip and two others with L19 and public in the name - see screenshot
Dlete DLOAD and create again, to make sure something hidden did not remain
And for Bootloader codes you have:

y flashed the rom b135 that i flash before and the phone install it and everything was ok but now, it doesn't boot, im stuck at the warning screen "your device has been unlocked and can't be thrusted" and the phone says booting now but nothing happends, i can't even flash the same rom again, im stuck :/
PD:the chimera or hi suit doesn't recognize the phone

Of course that flashing another cust without rebranding first, bricks the phone.
I just wonder how you know now that, why you didn't take time to read or ask about in advance (and I think, in previous answers I was also writing you about)
Sorry, I'm busy and cannot help you further.
There are guides on XDA, but maybe better pay for DC-Phoenix or Ministry of solutions to unbrick the phone and to install you Nougat like c432 b504
download http://download-c1.huawei.com/downlo...52&siteCode=np
Create a file dload in SD card and move file Update.app in dload .
Use method 3 Buttons To install.
