Hello,
My Note 8 whitestone dome glass was just installed by whitestone dome official applicator and I see it has 2 black dots and many small black dots on the glass (photo and video below). When looking with a black background, the black dots will look like white silver shining dots instead of disappearing into the black background.

I think it is a glass quality problem, looks like impurity inside glass. When looking with a black background, the black dots will look like white silver shining dots instead of disappearing into the black background.

Here is a video showing a black dot during green/white background changing into white silver shiny dot during black/blue background https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBPzHI07ngg
Is it defective?
Thanks

I don't see black dots on mine...might be defective.
Beware. If you got a defective glass, they are not helpful at all and will waste money and waste time.
Whitestone dome support is very very lousy. I paid an installation fee to be installed by whitestone dome official applicator as I have no confidence of applying it correctly. The installation person do not see the dots as a problem. After I went home I did some research in forums and videos, and I knew I got a defective glass.
I contacted whitestone dome distributor in my country and also contacted whitestonedome.com support showing them photos and videos but both did not want to help and they just wanted to say it is dust and keep pushing the problem to one another asking me to contact other party without any solutions.
This is clearly a defective glass and they just wanted to say it is dust. If it is dust it should just be 1 or 2 faded dots that may not be even be possible to be captured with photos, videos, but I have clearly showed deep black color that changes color with different background and there are so many of the dots.
Wasted a lot of time. I am unlucky these guys are not sincere in doing business. A defect that wasted customer time and yet they did not want to responsible.
I happen to find another person who also struggle with their bad support https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixe...whitestone_dome_experience_defective_product/

I have decided to buy this Sexy Phone
But confused to choose the variant white or black
Black version is prone to fingerprints and white one is prone to dust and grease :\
White version gives a premium feel though !!
So people please pour in your suggestions
Thanks in advance !!!
Cheers !!
I like the white one. As you said, it gives more of a premium feel. The metal frame also looks much better in the white version than in the black one.
On the other hand, the display looks better when turned off in the black one.
The front part of the phone is of glass so it will not catch much dust. One thing is that the back scratches easily if you drop your phone a lot and this shows a lot more in white than in black.
I have the black one and i like the color i use it with a matte screen protector so no fingerprint problem on the front side and the back cover is not like a glossy black so both sides no problem.
I also like the white one but the aluminium frame is grey (as you would expect but not the glossy aluminium grey) as in the black one the frame is painted black like the rest of the phone giving it a smoother look.
I like my choice and i would recommend the black one but watch out if the frame paint gets damaged by a fall it will look awful.
That's what i think thank you .
Does anyone else notice this on their Axon?
It's not very dramatic but it is bothersome and the only flaw that I seem to have on the device
No yellow on my screen at all. Could it be a screen protector you applied or is your screen without one?

No protector here. It's not a drastic issue but it is noticeable. I'm assuming the backlight is in the bottom and that's what's causing the discrepancy
screen protectors yes/no anyone tried them I ordered the glass ones off amazon see how the fit and work.
I bought a supershieldz tempered glass one off of EBay for $5.99. Fits nice and looks good.

Notice the same screen appear slightly yellowish (specially on white) towards the bottom.
Oh no.... this is the reason why I sold OnePlus One which had exactly same problem.... will see if my Axon will get the yellow bottom when I get it
Hi !
Has anyone here bought the Auckly screen protector for oneplus 5T ?
I'm considering buying it, but I haven't seen any review of it yet.
Is it compatible with the case included in the OP5T box ?
Thanks
according to a comment on amazon it sticks only on the black edges and not in the center. which makes the touch does not respond very well
I ordered orzly pro will get it tomorrow I'll post my review once I install it
thanks a lot
I have got an Auckly fitted and yes it only sticks to the edges but I have noticed no difference at all to screen sensitivity. With the screen off in some types of light there is a slight oil-slick stripe down the middle but as I say this is only in some types of artificial light and it is not visible with the screen on. Similarly there is a light dot matrix effect but this isn't visible with the screen on either.
I have the auckly TGSP installed on my OP5T, but I see the dot pattern and the oil slick stripe even when the screen is on. How could I prevent this ?

With these kinds of protectors (without glue in the middle) you simply can't

this i would also like to know.
What looks best for me are these with black edges but they don't stick too well on the screen and some rainbow effect is visible. Those that stick well, have no black painted edges and you can see the bubbles on the sides. Thats for the screen gurds i had available. It would be great if there were screen guards that ave slightly bent sides that stick better to the edges of the screen.
There's a video on YouTube about solving this bubble issue. But I haven't tried it because I use black panel tempered glass.
How can i fix the white scratches or peeling of colors at the top bottom and the bqck of my note 8 pls need help. The black color of the edges has been turn into white it faded.
Black sharpie / permanent marker...
No real fix, but you can use an aluminum bumper, I have one, got it from ebay, luphie brand, it is really thin, well made , looks good
