Hi Guys,
My HTC One M7 suddenly slowed down a bit yesterday. So generally i restart it and it works fine. So i did the same this time. But this time once it powered off it didn't start again. It was at 90% charge when i restarted it. Now when i put it on charge there is neither screen display nor the charging light glow red or green.
I have put it on charge for almost a day and still no response. I also tried a lot of things by now like holding down the power button for a minute or so / holding down the power button + vol down for a minute or so / power button + vol up for a minute or so. Even tried the power button + vol down near a bright light source. Nothing works till now.
Please help me out to figure out what is going wrong. Any help is deeply appreciated.

Thank you for the response.
Yes, when I connect to my computer it is listed under the section -

Yeah that's what I thought, your phone went in QHSUSB mode and that is not good news. There are 2 known causes of the M7 going in QHSUSB mode:
1-You manually updated your firmware using an incomplete/partial firmware.zip (a firmware.zip not containing all the required .img files) and this caused incompatibility in the firmware. This can be solved using this method
2- You did nothing special before it happened, phone just went in this mode by itself = Hardware failure. Motherboard most likely need to be replaced, there is no "software" fix in this situation.

I think my case is the case-2. I just did a restart and it happened. Seems like hardware failure. This sounds like an expensive fix for an old phone

hey guys!
Can anyone please help me with my problem.
I was trying to root my device using this toolkit HTC_QuickRoot_1.1.10_Release (1)
The process worked fine until it rebooted my sensation XL.
Now it wont turn on. I tried charging it and it is currently connected to my PC through USB,,the orange LED on the top of the device doesnt even show.
I am hoping its only a battery problem.
If anyone has had the same problem and has any fix just in case it is not a battery problem would be much appreciated.
You can try taking it to a phone store, and asking to try a diffrent battery in your phone. But it sounds to me like a H/W fault. The method of root you used is not familiar to me. Are you sure its compatible with the SXL?
Sent from my iPhone 4S using Tapatalk
i think that the HTC_QuickRoot has never been tested with SXL
anyway remove and replug the battery and try to enter bootloader mode with power+vol Down
if its working u can unlock, flash new hboot, recovery and a custom rom
everything Here thanks to stona175
if u can't enter the boot loader connect the SXL to your PC and check in device manager for this device
QUALCOMM QHUSB_DLOAD, if u find it, it means that your phone is bricked
Ok so i took out sim + battery for about 20 mins. Put it all together then plugged it through usb.
good thing and I hope it only gets better. Orange led is now showing,
I thoroughly searched for QUALCOMM QHUSB_DLOAD in my device manager and it is nowhere to be found.
Tried POWER + Vol DOWN button to enter bootloader, but nothing happen
is there a tool when i can access my device through the PC?
well my SXL seems like its totalled. Orange LED is still on even though it is not charging or connect through USB

To enter bootloader try this: remove battery, put it in again, hold FIRST vol down and THEN (without releasing vol down) power. Give it a try, you never know...

If your device is showing as QHUSB_DLOAD, then your going to need to use something like jtag to repair it, or a service centre.

This just happened to me, and after some searching here and elsewhere I found that it seems to be an unsettlingly common issue. What was worse is the only solutions anyone had was RMA/replacement. Well, I called HTC customer service and the woman I spoke to was very helpful
She told me that the charging mode may need to be reset and gave the following instructions.
1. Turn phone OFF
2. Let charge for AT LEAST 10mins even if it doesn't look like it's charging (mine DID show the new charging animation)
3. Press and hold POWER + VOL UP + VOL DOWN for AT LEAST 2mins. Anything less will not reset the charge mode.
4. After 2mins release the buttons and the phone should boot as normal.
My phone is now charging normally.
Thx for share

Is it supposed to be showing that HTC startup screen and like cycling through the beginning of an attempted reboot while I'm holding in the 3 buttons, or have I done it wrong every time?
Some notification will appear on the screen?
I hold the 3 buttons, and htc one is restarting continuously. 2 minutes and 30 seconds
And it did not work, still only charging power off.

Didn't work for me either.
I have to reboot to be able to charge with wall charger like it was before...
Thanks anyway:good:
I would put money down that the cause of this is those crappy usb ports my HD2 had exactly the same problem few years back and people realized it was the charging port getting rusted and shorting something in there causing the phone to act funny.
Time will tell...

Hello mates, I have a question about my HTC One.
yesterday my home screen start to rotate like im on a website or something. i know this is not normal because i have for 6 months now and know that home screen canr rotate. It doesnt matter really if the rotate function is turned off or on.
And then it stops and everything is ok..and later on again.
I tried to reset my phone to factory and same thing after 20 min, but i noticed that happens after CAR app jumps out by itself without opening it.
And when i make a call i got speaker on automatically, like he thinks hes in a car mode. and i cant remove this app cause its custom built.
Also cant charge phone when in usb host mode appears often, then i reboot him and he charges.
I really dont know what can i do..anyone know something please help.
Thx in advance
Charging fix.
I was having the same problem with charging my HTC One. I contacted HTC and they told me to do the following which worked:
Step 1: Power off the device
Step 2: Press the Power button to initiate booting sequence and wait for the HTC logo to appear on the screen
Step 3: Press and hold the Volume Down button until entering OS
Step 4: You will notice that the device vibrates briefly during this process
Step 5: ‘Safe Mode’ wording will appear on the bottom left of the screen to confirm that device has entered safe mode.
After this safe mode start I restarted normally and no longer have issues charging the phone.
Cheers.

This one didn't work either (for me )...
I got it into Safe Mode and in SF didn't charge and after reboot not only lost settings and stuff but still got the USB Host mode error.
I guess I'll be returning to stock soon and try to send it for repair before warranty expires.
Thanks anyway...
I have the same exact issue - phone will not charge and I get error about usb host mode... So far this "somewhat" worked for me - I am able to charge phone anytime via wall charger > but unable to connect to USB / charge via USB.
1. Start charging via phone wall charger. ( it will not charge at this time )
2. Reboot Phone (press power and hold > reboot)
3. After reboot your phone should be charging just fine, but ONLY via wall charger.
If you try to charge via USB it will not work. If you try to charge it via wall charger after USB charge attempt - it will also not work anymore, you will need to complete steps 1-3 again....
obviously this is NOT a solution and i think I'm gonna send the phone to repairs....
bonus: to get data off phone, you can do steps 1-3 then use file manager to drop off files to a network share! I use ES File Explorer. Get your data off before sending it to repairs because they will 100% wipe all your ****. Customer service is pretty bad, they do not care about you or your data.
I have been suffering this issue on and off for the last 12 months on my HTC one. Usb host mode, car mode popping up, airplane mode, screen going between landscape and normal on home page.
Out of the blue my phone started charging normally again the other day but stopped again a few days later. Noticed the day it stopped I was charging overnight and had the alarm set. So though I'll try that again so switched phone off after setting alarm and plugged it in to charge. Phone woke up to start alarm and it was charging while switched on again.
Tried all the other solutions without success, will now not set alarm to go off while phone is charging.
Hope this helps some people.
This is a manufacturing issue. I had to send the phone for repairs to HTC, they changed the motherboard, a logic board and a flex cable. Phone now works perfectly and came with Hboot 1.56.
My phone has not been charging correct for 2 days now. It only charges in boot loader mode using Samsung galaxy s4 charger. The HTC and Verizon chargers I have flicker charge in boot loader mode. I have tried everything I have read on here and on other sites with no luck. I am s-off and rooted with teamwin recovery but since I can't hook the phone up to a PC I can't s-on and unroot to try to see if I can do a warranty exchange via Verizon's extended warranty.
Only charging when off

Tried doing this (and the other reboot, and safe mode, using different chargers, etc), to no avail... I am going to get the USB charge port fixed and see if that will do the trick. I'll update if it fixes it.
UPDATE: Phone died. Getting it checked out but through a regular place and not through HTC as that would take too long. I'll see what they determine to be the issue... Though it's not likely going to be a cheap fix...
UPDATE 2: Could not determine issue, and can't send into HTC as it is not under the 1 year warranty anymore. Tried contacting HTC Canada, still haven't got back to me. Phone is done as far as I'm concerned; I realize now that HTC uses the bulk of their precision work on the exterior and beauty is skin deep because this is pathetic if multiple people are having this issue. Got a Nexus 5 instead.
EDIT
Problem solved
I just started having this issue today.

Still Charges
I've been getting a notification with an explanation mark saying the phone will not charge and is in USB Host Mode. This message comes randomly. I haven't had an issue charging the phone but don't think I've tried while the message is up. I just close the message and it may come up a few hours later. Like I said, phone seems to work fine and has charged the few times since getting the phone 3 days ago.
Last night I plugged my phone in when it was at 9%. Woke up this morning and it was dead.
Steps Taken:
1. Tried 6 other chargers (including a tablet charger)
No luck2. Held down Power+Volume Down
Boot menu loaded. Tried to "Reboot". No luck.Went into Boot again, tried charging it and it said "Fastboot AC" Left it at this for almost 45 minutes and tried booting but thing.3. Plugged into a computer and nothing.
4. Tried the Light + Sensor + Power/Volume trick.
5. Computer recognizes it as (Android 1.0)
Cannot plug it into a desktop with Sync Manager due to at work ATM6. Tried holding power.
7. Tried power + Volume Up
I'm very stuck at this point.
I have no LED's, no home button lighting up. Phone isnt getting warm on a charger like usuall. Need some help please.
PS I read multiple threads on not powering on and did all the tricks I can. From what I've read they all could get nothing out of the phone where as I had something in the begining.
Phone is stock. It was rooted, but I have it back to stock now.
Alright new update.
Plugged the phone into the computer. Installed HTC Sync Manager. Held down Power + Volulme down. The computer beeps as if new device connected. I hit the power button again and the phone disconnects from the computer. Could this be a fault display or bad board?
does the device manager on windows show:
QHSUSB-DLOAD mode ????
Qualcomm Highpeed USB Download Mode
if yes... it's pretty much a bricked device... if you're on stock... just return it..
even if it was rooted they won't be able to boot it up either... and so they won't see if it was rooted..

Hey everyone,
I apologise if this has been asked many times before; but I need some assistance with my HTC one M7.
I was using the phone with low battery - with power saver turned on, it turned off completely after a few moments.
I have put the phone on charge, but the LED indicator is not showing up nor the phone turning on or charging at all.
I went through forums, and tried the power button + volume down button to bring up the boot menu, this menu did actually appear - but me being the fool I am - I selected the power down option.
I have been unable to bring the menu up again with the power + volume button combination.
I then connected the phone to my PC - where its installs a driver - qhsusb_dload. I have tried the power + volume button combination with it being connected to my PC - where I hear the device detected bing and device disconnected bing while I hold these buttons down, still unable to charge/power on/ or bring up the boot menu.
I have also left the phone on wall charger for over 12 overs again to no avail.
Can anyone provide any advice - or any method I can salvage the data stored on it i.e. photos?
Thanks for reading - appreciate any help!

If you get it to go into that boot menu again. You sometimes have to hold the power and volume down for about 15 seconds, then release them and again start holding the volume down. This is something I had to do to get into recovery back when my bootloader was still locked.
The power may not coming on, but if you are getting usb sounds from plugging it in maybe the computer you are connecting to could be switched.
I had hard times connecting before from certain machines cause they wanted to run an HTC Sync program. You could try a different machine.
Often people say regarding the behavior of the 3.0 vs 2.0 USB ports, that it is 2.0 that will work. And you might try a Vista machine to get fastboot working.

qhsusb_dload is a well known issue, not caused by the computer you are coonecting to. Its can be caused by a bad firmware flash (flashing an incompatible firmware.zip) or because of an hardware failure. Easy to know what is the cause. Did the phone randomly went in qhsusb_dload mode? Yes ---> Hardware, will most likely need a motherboard replacement. Did the phone went in qhsusb_dload directly after flashing something? Yes ---> Software problem can be fixed with the unbrick project.
Hey,
so I was running cm13 (some version from november) and i wanted to go back to zui so i restored a backup that i created when i first got the phone. i booted into twrp, pressed on restore and selected my backup. after waiting for the backup to restore i saw that the process failed. then i pressed on the return to system or whatever button and now my phone wont boot anymore. when i hold power it just vibrates and the notification led flashes once. when i plug it in to charge the notification led doesnt light up. also when connecting it to my pc it is recognized (sound when you plug something in/out) but its not recognized as a phone or storage. what do i do?
Hi,
small question.
Did you do a full wipe?
Please delete system and data partition.
Because you come from cm13 to stock.
Are you able to enter fastboot? Press and hold volume down button and then hold the power button. Alternatively if your phone is off just unplug it and leave it for a few minutes, then whilst holding just the volume down button plug it into your PC and then check with "fastboot devices" in your terminal (I'm assuming that you do have adb and fastboot tools on your phone since you had a custom ROM).
@djsven I just went into twrp and tried to restore my back up not more not less. I cant delete the data and system partition as my device isnt turning on and my pc doesnt recognize the phone as a storage device.
@Uivalf39 by holding volume down and power button i cant enter. all it did was vibrate + led flash. I think its on 0% power now because holding power now just makes the led flash once (no vibration anymore). can you tell me what exactly you mean by "check with "fastboot devices"".
thanks to everyone trying to help

You'll first need to install adb and fastboot tools, as well as drivers for the phone and google utilities. I assume you already have these since you must have unlocked your phone and flashed twrp to install CM13.
Sending the "fastboot devices" command through an adb/fastboot enabled terminal will show you if your phone is fastboot-enabled. Your phone is bricked, the only way to go back to the original software is to follow the guide (available both here and on zukfans), TWRP backup won't work with stock ROMs.
Don't worry though, you should be able to recover it, but it'll be a lot of trial and error.
Have a read through here and here and here, seems like a lot of good troubleshooting material for bricked devices.
Let us know how you get on.
My phone was recognized as QUSB_BULK in device manager. i installed qhsusb drivers and now its in ports and its called "qualcomm hs-usb diagnostics 900e (com10)". trying to find out what to do now.

Oh dear, from the stuff I found on Google, it sounds like you'll have to disconnect the battery to force the phone to shut down everything before carrying on.
Check out this thread on zukfans, specifically these comments: [1] [2]
This is the danger of having phones with non-removable batteries. Sounds like you might have to remove the back glass, shouldn't be TOO difficult, looks like it's just glued down without any clasps so you'll need a heat gun (hair dryer should do). Here is a guide on doing that.
If you do end up doing that, would you be willing to film it and upload it to YouTube afterwards? I can't find any video of such a feat and it would be useful for anyone else who needs to do that. Maybe even add some comments of whether there are any clasps, how long you had to heat it up, etc.
In the past I've been successful in unbricking my phones by draining them until the battery protection circuitry wouldn't allow for any more power to be drawn. This would roughly be equivalent to unplugging the battery so it might work for you depending what the phone is currently doing. If the screen comes on then you should be able to drain it, if only your notification light flashes then it's a fool's errand.
NB: The zukfans poster's step 1 was to fully charge your phone as you'll need full battery for the solution. What I described above will probably not work but there's always multiple solutions to every problem and if you're weary of removing the back you can try that, don't hold me on this, but I it shouldn't do any damage.

I managed to remove the battery connector. after putting it back in and now im trying to do the sequence i still dont understand because of bad phrasing (hold vol up then hold power then after 0.5s plug usb in? hold vol up hold power for 0.5s after plugging in? idk). all i now get is a slow flashing led when connecting it to anything via usb no matter what i press. i dont even know if its charging

After doing that, what do you have on device manager? Is it still as before with the 900e?
Alright, so from what I understand it goes something like this:
Unplug battery connector
Wait 10-15 seconds with the connector unplugged
Plug back battery connector
Press and HOLD volume up button
Whilst holding volume up press power button and hold it down
After 0.5s of holding power button plug in the usb (connected to the PC) - still keep holding the volume up and power button
Keep holding volume up and power button, and the ZUK logo should pop on the screen and phone should vibrate
Now release buttons and your phone should appear in device manager as port 9008
How did you find removing the glass back? How did you do it and how difficult would you say it was?
@Uivalf39 Im pretty sure im getting the timing right but all i get is a slowly flashing nofication led. no vibration and no logo. also my device doesnt get recognized at all on my pc i cant find it in device manager.
removing the back was pretty easy i just heated the 3 corners (the ones without a camera) on max for like 2 min each with a hair dryer. then i pushed in a plectrum and went around the edges with it.
@mdeoinko That's really strange, maybe we'll need to think a bit outside the box. What version of Windows are you using? Do you have the qualcomm/zuk/google drivers installed properly?
Here's one comment that might be useful.
Also, Francko from zukfans (main ROM guy so I guess he knows his stuff) did some trickery with the USB cable, not entirely sure what it is and how it works, but it looks like it does so you might want to look into this.
I'd say that you should maybe post to zukfans, you'll get more help there.
Godspeed my son!
@Uivalf39 damn i completely forgot about modifieng the cable brb hopefully i can fix it now
@mdeoinko
Hiya, any update? Hoping that your lack of posts means that you solved the issue and no longer need help. If so, could you post here what you did to solve it? Such that anyone else with this issue that comes across this thread might know what works and what doesn't.
Cheers!
i need help, cant signup into zukfans giving error as spam activity, cant go into 9008 mode, tried everything accept removing back of the fone. any guesses...
