I'm trying to unbrick a Lenovo K3 Note. Mediatek USB appears in device manager on Windows PC, but SP flash can't see the phone to flash preloader. The drivers are OK, because I have already flashed similar phones on the same PC.
I have also tried on the Linux PC. which I regularly use for flashing.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I guess you are referring to a cloned Note5. You wont get much help here as this forum is for the Samsung manufactured N5
BTW, you need to install proper PC drivers to get SP flash detect ur /any MTK based phone
Search on Google/xda for universal drivers if your phone didn't come with 1 and it should work
Cheers
I have this problem in connecting my Lenovo A7000 with my laptop, whenever I connect the device to the laptop I get this error - "USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned".
I read some other threads regarding the same error,
So far I have done these things to debug this -
1. Uninstalled USB drivers from my laptop
2. Checked for any available update for the device drivers in device manager.
3. Tried installing drivers manually using Lenovo tool.
4. Wiped data from the device to give a fresh start
5. Changed the USB cable.
6. Even tried this on other PC.
But still I haven't come across any solution yet, I want to flash some zip's in my device using the recovery, but can't install TWRP, because I can't connect with PC, so I am stuck with stock recovery
P.S - My device is rooted.
Try installing proper vcom drivers.btw a specific edition of win10 didnt detects the device.i have faced the same.
So i am using the latest stable global rom and have updated windows 10 on both my computers and both won't recognize the phone as a device in fastboot. Had already used it in the past. The phone has usb debbuging activated and the phone recognises the device when not in fastboot.
Any ideas how to fix this? Or anyway to install TWRP without fastboot?
are you sure you have properly installed fastboot driver ?
Happened to me also... What I did was I used old fastboot drivers... The new 2016 drivers won't recognise in fastboot...
Connect your phone in fastboot...
In device manager manually update it to old drivers
can you upload that Old driver?

In short, I got my xperia sp bricked after flashing a c5302 rom on a c5303 device
http://sony.yt/topic/7322-english-tu...eria-sp-c5303/
The method in this link states that phone may be detected as "qhusb_dload device", but what I detect is "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" in device manager
Then I followed the same steps to use S1tool, seems the tool fails to detect my device and I stopped here
but in "device and printers" in control panel, there is a grey qhusb_dload device icon!! so it means there is a short instant my device is detected as "qhusb_dload device"?
I have tried attaching the cable again and again, my phone has never been detected as qhusb_dload device again
Any idea for my situation? Thanks for any possible explanations to my case
Brah just flash firmware using flash tool thats it. Thanks appreciated
I got the same problem with an xperia sp.
I used the method from the tutorial and it worked. Have you installed the usb drivers from the archive ?
If you're using linux, you can try this tool that needs no drivers: https://github.com/eti1/spflasher
Flash doomlord's kernel using flash tool and boot into cwm and wipe system, cache, dalvik, data(optional) and flash ROM gapps and magisk.
I've been trying to fix one of my Lenovo K3notes which was bricked after bad flashing. It now won't respond at all.
There are several tutorials about this. But some aspects of them puzzle me.
The method seems to be to enter meta mode, flash the preloader from a stock rom, then flash the whole stock rom separately.
To get into metamode, you have to connect to a Windows computer and check the device manager.
After that, you flash the preloader.
Here are my questions:
1) I use a Linux (Ubuntu) computer, but can have access to a Windows computer if necessary. But it would be good to know how to do this on my own computer. Why is Windows necessary?
2) I don't understand the method to get into Metamode. After finding the phone in the Windows device manager, you are supposed to unplug the phone and start SPflahs. I would have guessed that you would then leave metamode. Is that right?
3) why do you have to flash preloader and stock rom separately? Am I missing some vital step?
4) The tutos mention VCom drivers. Are these the same as the general drivers for the Lenovo phone, are are they specific to this metamode procedure? I have already flashed this phone before with Spflahs, both on my (ubuntu) and my wife's (Windows 7) computers, so drivers are already installed and working for general flashing. Do I need different drivers for preloader?
Thanks
