I just picked up my Note 9 today, as I pre-ordered from Best Buy. After installing Fortnite I get to the screen where you indicate if you already have an account. I do on Xbox, so after logging in... I get the screen to sign up for the waiting list.
I thought Note 9 pre-orders were exempt from the waiting list? Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Never saw anything about pre orders being exempt? The pre order bonus is for a skin and V-Bucks
If what the OP says is true, then it does seems a bit misleading about being able to play Fornite after acquiring the Note 9. I have not yet attempted to play Fornite, but prior to this thread I also thought one is able to play it right out of the box!

Got my Note9 via FedEx today. I was also under the impression that we get to play it ASAP hence the skin/vbuck combo. It was like a PLAY IT FIRST ON NOTE 9, type of thing. Who do we contact about this Epic Games or Samsung?

They didn't say if you pre order you get to play first they said that the note 9 was the first phone to get it. It's only available on the Note 9 for the first 30 days. No where was it ever mentioned that by pre ordering or buying a note night you would have immediate access
Works on my note 9. I got it on Tuesday from samsung and downloaded it from samsung apps which directed me to epic. I already had an account for ps4 so i used the same one. I didnt get a waiting list message i also didnt pick the fornite free gift. I opted for the headphones.
I've been playing since it came out on my Note8 and when I got my Note9 just logged in via Google and I'm able to play. My issue is I can't adjust video settings but it is what it is.
I made a video about how to get the Galaxy skin and the 15k V-Bucks:
Anyone with a recent Samsung device should be able to download Fortnite from the Galaxy apps store. And I think anyone with a Note can get the Galaxy skin, but only the pre-orders should get the 15k V-Bucks.
When I initially installed Fortnite there were no video settings to adjust, but there was an update on the 24th that fixed that.

If you watched the "Unpacked event" Tim Sweeney basically said beta were available for certain galaxy devices including the note 9 at the time of the event, with no time of expiration mentioned. Afterwards, exclusivity to a particular skin for note 9 buyers was mentioned. However, If a buyer is to pair those pieces of information with Samsung consistently mentioning Fornite and Note 9 in the same breath. Yes many people will leave with it in mind that fornite is or will be playable on the note 9 after acquired purchase! .........by the way, I setup my fornite account thru my N9 and was able to play right away.
It works fine for me. What I did, though, on the 10th was download it and sign up with my Note 8. I was able to download and install the app and play it on the Note 8. Works fine on the 9 now. Not sure why you get a waiting list.

Well yes I see, my reply assumed the OP meant "playable" rather than "exempt" from waiting list, which I may stand corrected there.

So far we've been left in the dark as to the release day and price of the Note 4 but here is all the information that I have so far.
Pre-order Info:
Samsung Stores (Brick and Mortar) are doing a "pre-order" where you can either stop in or call and leave your information and which color of phone you want. When they get either a demo model or the actual phones to sell (my guess is the former), they'll contact you so you can have a look and secure your pre-order. My guess is that at this point they may require a deposit but I'm not 100% sure on that, neither was the person I spoke with.
Best Buy and Future Shop are also doing a pre-order where you have to put $50 down and you can save 20% off an accessory when the phone comes in. This is in store only. Scroll down a bit to see the advert, and it doesn't mention the $50 deposit online however it said that in the flyer.

Costco
I spoke with someone at Wireless Etc. which is located in Costco stores and he said that they had training on Oct. 7 for the Note 4 and that he presumed it would be an Oct. 17 launch day however nothing for the launch date had been confirmed.

Expansys.ca will ship "no later than Thursday" of you want to give them all your money. Apparently.
Don't
Before giving them 1000$+ be sure the model # is sm-n910w8 or else you will be very disappointed.

Ok, so I just confirmed that Expansys.ca ships the Exynos version.

You'd better double-check, maybe triple-check, because they told me it was Exynos first, then said:

I know, I find it completely ridiculous that so many of us WANT to spend our money on their phones, but it's so god damn difficult. My brother wanted an iPhone 6, he got it no problem. Me? Wait several weeks after launch and still don't get a price or delivery date... then have to find loopholes to get an unlocked phone without selling my right arm in the process.
Yo, Sammy! I've got money, so let me spend it! :victory:
Well have you seen how the iphone 6 launch was rushed. All the iOS 8 problems and iphone 6 issues. Samsung want to keep those problems as minimal as possible. The wait is going to be worth it

I don't mind a wait, but we don't even know how long we'll be waiting or how much we'll have to spend in the end. It's a really poor business practice.

It sucks too because I am in the position where renewing on a 2 year contract and losing my amazingly cheap 6GB plan would cost me more in the long run then buying the phone out right.
So I will be buying mine in full (hopefully not outrageously priced).
I find it ridiculous that they don't allow us to buy an unlocked clean from carrier bloat version off their website, however there is way if you live in Vancouver lol. In the Metrotown mall there is our 1 and only Samsung store in Canada and you can get the phones from there and I believe they are unlocked but you half to walk in to get them >_<
However unlocking a carrier one isn't a big deal anymore, because of the new CRTC ruling the carriers half to give you unlock codes if you want them and its limited to a max price of $50, but you can simply go to one of those 3rd party cell unlocking sites and get the Samsung unlock codes for your phone for $30 which is what I've always done to unlock my phones from Bell.
What bothers me too is that some places won't even sell a no term Note 4. I understand with the iPhone that Apple bars the selling of no term phones for 3 months because they want customers to come directly to them. However with Samsung it's different as there are not nearly as many Samsung stores as Apple stores and no matter what you can't buy the phone unlocked from Samsung it had to be liked to a carrier. They need to offer the phone through their online store and retail stores unlocked, it's as simple as that. Whether they ever smarten is another story.
The same goes for their launches, take a page out of Apple's book and have everything ready and 2 weeks out at most after the initial release party. Also they need to have prices when they do the unveiling. For all of us here it will be delayed gratification as we're getting the phone we know we want. But what about the how many other people out there that didn't want to wait and are now owning a new 6+. They may have the (imo) inferior device but they also didn't give Samsung a dime. People want things now at least in North America and are not willing to wait.
What does everyone think the Note 4 will cost? Same price as last year? I can't think off hand if the dollar has changed much in they last year which would bump our costs up. American pricing seems the same as last year I believe so maybe $750?
So it looks like it's Oct. 17 for Canada http://mobilesyrup.com/2014/10/01/samsungs-galaxy-note-4-to-arrive-in-canada-on-october-17/
It's funny because I had just talked to 2 Telus stores, and one said either the 4th or 14th and the other said their was a dealer forum happening on the 9th so it would be just before our after that.
Still no pricing yet.

All the Canadian Note 4 firmware's have been released on Samsung's Kies firmware update servers, Sammobile has them downloaded already for anyone who wish to get them as well. This is good news for us as Samsung Canada has a habit of making sure the firmware's are pre-available close to a release date to make sure that things go smoothly and on the off chance something needs to be reinitialized the full firmware is there for repair/recovery.
So with this our version of the phone should be just around the corner ^_^ , lets hope for no delays!

What model from what region did you get? Most likely though you do not have the LTE access with the imported phone or only 2600MHz band in select few citys which isn't very good.

Often outside of North America a lot of phones firmware's will use the term 4G for H+ (because of a technicality) and then for LTE they will show it as 4GLTE or just LTE.
You should be able to find more information on what the phone is using in the About section.
Thats not the case. It switches between 4G and H+. I use slingplayer everynight on my commute home. There is always minimum 4 spots where the video cuts out for at least 30 seconds each time. Tonight, my first with this device, never happened once. Also the clarity of the pictures and colour was bar far better than any other device ive used. My last 3 devices were Note 3, Z2 and LG G 3. Suggest somewhere for me to do a speed test and ill post results tomorrow.
Hope this info helps people.

I was at the T-MOBILE store today in NY inquiring about the S7 edge when a gentle walked in and asked if they were still selling the note 7. To my surprise the employee said yes. She did tell him to not let it charge past 60% and if it feels like it's over heating that he can bring it in and exchange if for another phone.
I wanted to get the note 7 but amid this disaster regarding the second recall I thought it was irresponsible for T-Mobile to sell any more of them. Have we been so brainwashed by the media that the battery exploding is only happening to a small percentage of the note 7 out in the wild. When he asked and she said yes, I'll admit I was tempted to see if I could be one of the lucky ones to get a non defective note 7 bit then i came back to reality and said the headache is not worth the reward.
What gives T-MOBILE and why don't you have the damn pixel in your store? You know sometimes I wonder! It would've been a perfect landing spot regardless of what happened to the note 7!

That T-Mobile employee was probably just an overworked, underpaid, and uninformed sales clerk. He/she could care less if you got a Note 7 or not.
The Pixel is a Verizon "exclusive". That's how the carrier system works in the US and it sucks. The rest of the world has electronic stores like Best Buy or OEM stores like Apple/Samsung/Microsoft where you can get your phones without dealing with carriers. You just buy a SIM of whichever carrier you want and pop a sim in, or you go into a carrier store to get your line, and they have no way to dictate to you what phones you can use.
Your probably right about there clerk but I hope the person who wanted is aware of what's happening, how could he not be. Also, I know I can take a Google purchased pixel and use it at T-MOBILE but it just seemed like the logical carrier that it should be on given how rapidly TMo has grow in the last few years. So would tmo sell the now 7 if someone wanted it? Would there be support for it?

This ^&%$$%^ sucks man. Really sucks. I love my Note 7 but at this point I now feel I no longer have a choice now but to return it. Just heard the news about the DOT that there is a full ban now. You can be jailed and even fined now for trying to travel with it

That sales person seems like an idiot because the Note 7 has been a huge goat rope for every carrier, if they don't know by now they shouldn't be selling it they might need a new line of work.
I did not see the sale I was just listening. I don't know if it happened to be honest with you.

I read somewhere recently where the exclusive Verizon has to the Pixel may be short lived. I don't know that's because Google sees an opening with the Note 7 debacle to get their phone a broader customer base or whether that was part of the original agreement.
I'm keeping my Note 7 until at least the V20 comes out. It's the closest thing feature wise to the Note 7. I'd go Pixel in a New York minute if it had SD card capability.
Yeah I think I'm going with the V20. I just don't see the justification on spending $900 on the pixel right now. I'm going to wait for the 2nd pixel. Maybe TMo will cough up the loot to get it in there stores.

Yeah im still pondering on the Pixel but the new name doesn't fool me. Never been super happy with Nexus batteries or cameras and every nexus phone had the best camera ever if you asked Google. Much like they are saying with the Pixel now.
Problem is unless you preorder you have to buy the 120 vr. I also need Wi-Fi calling at home :-/
I'd give up my card for a 128gb phone. I'm interested in the battery on the LG though.

I've got over 128 GB of music on that free 256 GB card that I got with the Note 7. With the V20 and it's supposed audio quality, I could load more .flac music up.
Then again, I could keep the S7 Edge they sent me as a loaner for the first recall. It shows as paid up on the T-Mobile website. It would work with the VR I claimed as part of that deal. Then again, I don't have the morals of an alley cat.

Yeah man, I'm looking at what is offered and for that price I got so much more on the N7 and it's depressing. Also why the hell would you only offer 32 and 128gb.
The price makes it very hard to justify.
I want to keep my note 7 as long as possible. I was able to undo the newest update to limit charging to 60% using odin and going back to previous rom. I have everything working even sam pay and all so it's just fine. the only thong that worries me now is if Samsung strong arms tmobile into blocking our IMEI so that it won't work on the networks. I want to know when that will happen so I can be ready to get a blue coral s7 edge since they are coming this Friday the 18th on tmobile. But if they won't block us the I will keep note 7 until s8 comes out, but I'm doubting that they will let us have them that long. next best phone will be s7 edge in coral blue.. if anyone here's anything about us getting blocked, notify us all so we can be ready and not be caught unprepared with a non working phone.
I actually contacted T-Mobile to verify if I could return my device to take advantage of the BOGO on the Galaxy S7 this past Friday. Long story short I may have shot myself in the foot as they did not realize somehow that I still had a note 7 as it was shown as returned on my account. Anyhow, I asked if they had plans to block the note 7 from the network and I was told that nothing was in place for such action. Whether that is true or is to change in the future I do not know.

I got the same email? weird? still have the phone and still see the monthly charge on it. anyone knows anything? do we have a free phone in our hands? :cyclops:
oh my goodness, I got my monthly bill from tmobile and it was like 80 bucks less than usual( about 180$). and I dug I to see why and i found that the deducted the 25 for the credit for returning my first note phone. also I didn't see my note 7 on the eip list. so as of now I'm not paying installments on my note 7 )) does that mean when I get a new phone I don't have to use my jump or give the phone back since its "paid off". ? hmmm I wonder what's going on. I hope this doesn't prelude the blocking IMEI on these phones... But for now, wow, I'm it paying anything for this phone on my bill!!
Tmobilr cant blacklist the phone until samsung and the gov gives the ok.
And i got $100 credit for the frist 2 note 7 i had. No email.
Still beong charged for the second 2 note 7 tho.
I order an s7 edge sliver for my wife which should be here in a fee days and then i will return her note.
And i have to deal with samsung on mines since tmobile dont sell black s7 edge anymore.
So once all that is done. Tmobile is suppose to be giving me $205 cash pre phone and $100 bill credit pre phone from samsung.
My last bill (about 2 weeks old) shows $25 credit for returning V1, plus 1st installment charge for V2, but later also got an e-mail thanking me for returning N7 as well. Now this could be for returning V1, or they wrote off V2, won't know until my next bill. There is no other phone I want and N8 is long way off, so I'll just wait and see, since I have N3 as a back up and if I look hard enough I probably find my old S3 as well. I'm upset at myself for updating the phone, I should have known better, with root I would just change IMEI to old S3 number and wouldn't care what they do.

I'm tired of waiting to see if the hammer drops or not! I'm especially tired of T-Mobile and the way they jack up your bill!

How did they jack up your bill? Mines has been normal through the whole note 7 stuff.
Just confusing. But all correct.

I was paying EIP on my Note 7, but it's been paid off entirely since the first week I've had it. I'm told now it's been straightened out, but I was told that three times before.

I am being allowed to keep my note 7 since it shows as paid off. and now since blue coral s7 edge came out today, I'm gonna be getting that and using my note as a tablet.. free note 7 cause they even reimbursed me for what I have already paid for it .. sorry for all those who already returned theirs.

Did you already turn in a previous note7? Or is this an OG note7?
After two months I get an email my s5 trade was not approved due to a crack screen or it does not function. Which is not true the phone was in very good condition always in a case etc. This is bull on part of Samsung. Anyone ever had an issue?

Do you have any photos to prove it? Usually a credit card company can fight if you have a good proof.
I'm going through this right now. And, I had a defective Note 8 that I returned. Here it is almost 2 months later and I still haven't been credited for the Note 8 I returned and I'm out a perfectly good Note 5 that I traded in expecting to receive $350-$425 in trade-in. Completely annoyed and will never ... NEVER purchase anything from the Samsung site again. I've been in a tit-for-tat email war with "Ecommerce (Samsung Office of The President)" and am still fighting them today!! This green bar showed up on day 3 of my Note 8. The same day that I sent off my Note 5.

My stupid self thought since all we place in the box is the phone and label outside they might not have the right phone matched to the account so I only took a picture of the esn. Also I heard if I dispute the charge they will blacklist my note 8. So annoying !

Great phone, suck ass service... They should not sell direct. They should alone focus on making products.
Coincidental that as soon as I received notification that my 'post had been quoted' I also received an email from Samsung
Code:

Good Morning xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thank you for contacting Samsung. I would like to inform you, your case is currently under review at this time. The screenshot provided and the trade-in transaction will need to be further reviewed by corporate, once an update becomes available you will be notified via email. I apologize for the delay and inconvenience this matter has caused during this process. Thank you so much for your patience with Samsung, have a wonderful day.
Best Regards,
Sharena
Office of the President- Samsung Direct
Frustrating to say the least. I have 12 emails all requesting that I be patient and that my case is under review. [email protected]$& that noise!! I'm at the point where whatever they provide will not be enough. Meanwhile, I'm now paying interest on a purchase that was returned somewhere at the end of Oct beginning of Nov.
Also, early in these email chains, I was asked to provide evidence that my Note 5 did not have a cracked screen. I took picture prior to sending.
When I supplied the picture to them, I asked for them to provide me a picture of the cracked screen. I got nothing for that request.

I did a dispute. I am sure it's going to be a battle. I am just going to keep pushing them. The more they piss me off the more I am thinking of changing over to a pixel or HTC next time around.
It that time again and I thought I'd just check my eligibility status on the website
https://shop.samsung.com/uk/multistore/ukupgradechannel/ukupgradelounge/registration
The thing is that like last year I'm having trouble finding the reference. I know the Close Brothers were taken over by Klarna Bank just before Christmas but their reference dosen't seem to work either.
Any one else having this issue?
Hi
Same issue for me. Hoping they flick a switch or send a new url at 1900....
Cheers
Kevin
I logged on with my loan number but it comes up with page not available
Yep, not just you you'll be happy to hear
Really annoying thing is that I've just bought the 2018 IconX (which are great).
Lee
yeah i've managed to log in with my loan number from last year(close brothers) and allows me to click on upgrade pic but then comes back with page unavalable
On the CNET hands-on review it's says that pre-order is on the 21st. Unsure. I can wait a day

In their photos its says 20th on the Samsung upgrade site
same here ... page not available after entering my upgrade loan number.
interestingly, you can pre-order and get upto £350 off the price of the s10 + when trading in an s9+, which i suspect is almost the same overall cost as going via the upgrade programme.
i'll check the upgrade page again tomorrow to see if it works, we've got 2 weeks to be eligible for the wireless buds.
in the meantime i've pre-ordered the s10e for my better half and got £200 trade in for her s7 edge
Same issue here. I type in my S9 agreement number, and it takes me through to a link that says Upgrade Here, but then loads 'upgrade lounge' page which comes up with page unavailable. Trying to contact Samsung on phone and live chat to see what's up
I've also messaged them this morning.
See what they say.
On hold for 35 minutes and still waiting... on Live chat, got through to someone who promptly closed chat mid sentence....

Ok, according to live chat response -
"Thank you very much for waiting. Upon checking with our Samsung Sales Team, they have advise me that the website in claiming your upgrade device is currently still not available and our respective department are doing there best to make it ready within the day until tomorrow. Don't worry, since you have receive the invitation you would be able to upgrade your mobile phone to the Samsung Galaxy S10."
I haven't actually received an email from them with an invitation in it, so not sure what they referring to. I received an email last week about Samsung Unpacked Event. In it, it said that yesterday I would receive an email with a link to upgrade to S10. I have not yet received that email or link.

I've Tweeted too, lets see what we get back from them.
Latest from the live chat -
"I apologise for the inconvenience. Upon checking within our system the invitation would start to be send after the unpacked event. To be eligible in receiving the invitation for the upgrade you would need to complete the 12 moth payment."
From what I can remember, I have made the deposit, and 11 payments. This means I am only eligible next month after next month's payment ? Guess I won't be getting the pre-order headset.....
same here - spoke to them and said they are having issue with the webpage and the tech team has been notified and is working on fixing it
this is my first year upgrading so not sure if thats normal but why send an email saying go and upgrade when the website is not even working?
not a good start

I'm thinking the same will happen for me when the upgrade program pages are working again. I think I'll be able to upgrade (eligibility checker already says I am), but I won't get an automatic invitation to upgrade till next month
Suspect it's simply a matter of waiting for their system to get sorted.
Interestingly, I looked at purchasing an S10 'new' and there is an option there to use purchase it on 0% finance on Samsung Upgrade Programme, and it says it uses Close Brothers Retail Finance (which has been taken over by someone else). Didn't go through with the purchase, as I'm waiting to see what's going to happen with upgrade programme, but they'd give me £300 for my S9 against purchase of an S10.

Yes - but if you do that, you still have to pay another year for your S9 - remember you only paid 12 mo of 24mo
so what will happen is you will get 300 off s10, pay 499 but also still need to pay £27/mo for another year - or pay it all in lump sum if you want - believe is £370ish left
According to their live chat they think it should be up and running within 2hrs
I heard that to.
Looks like they're updating the page now. Wish they could start with the link

The upgrade lounge page ( https://shop.samsung.com/uk/multistore/ukupgradechannel/ukupgradelounge/ )has now changed, so progress is being made
