Hi. Could somebody test if this smartphone does intra-band and inter-band carrier aggregation with B1, B3, B7 and B20 bands?
Thank you in advance.
It does with B3/B1, B3/B20 and B3/B8 as far as I could test

Hi, you're the first (and only?) one reporting this.
How did you test it and on which network?

I tested this on T-Mobile NL and KPN NL. At my work, I receive a B3+B1 Transmitter and it shows CA which is a sign for me that the phone support this combination. At my home, the local transmitter has B3+B8 or B8+B3 depending on how weak the reception is and I still see CA on this phone. On KPN NL, I have at various places CA from which I know this is B3+B20 or B20+B3, when B3 is weak.
Since this phone has the Snapdragon X12 modem, which I also had in my former HTC 10 which was rooted and I had a diagnostic tool for Qualcomm on it, I am pretty sure it has the same support of CA bands. as I see CA on the same places as before with the known combinations.
Thanks, what shows CA? Are you using Network Signal Guru?

Ca shows the 4G+ logo on top, but I tested this indeed with network signal guru on my old HTC with the same mode.

I understand that for XT1103, the CA bands are 2+13, 2+17, 4+5, 4+13, and 4+17; for XT1100 3+5 and 3+8.
However, my country telcos only support 3+7. Is it possible to edit the CA bands for 3+7? Or is this a hardware thing? I'm using XT1100

Maybe ask the OP of this thread. He figured out how to add LTE band 1 to the Nexus 6.

It certainly worked fine on the Nexus 5 (enabling band 3 and 8 on the North American version). And although I haven't read much on enabling bands on the Nexus 6, I don't image it'll be any less effective.

Nexus 5 still had some hardware restrictions for some bands. Some were possible to enable, some were not. Will require more investigation on the 805

For sure. But band 1 has already been enabled on the North American version, and @Azlun seems to be working on band 8. He hasn't mentioned anything about band 7 in his thread, and I have no idea about the carrier aggregation stuff.

I am thinking about purchasing an unlocked T-Mobile g4 for at&t network. From what I understand, I wont get all the bands, but I will have enough that signal including LTE, should not be a major issue. I was wondering if anyone here has tried this before?

I don't see much past 2G use in your country at the moment
Here in central NC I am getting around 5 Mbps download and around 1 Mbps upload. This is just from my home, I haven't taken the phone anywhere else yet. I hope to get a couple of test from other areas around my town today.

Unfortunately no, its a hardware issue. Unless the radio could be modified. The only current band that is disabled but can be opened is band 12, but that is not going to help in your country. Sorry

The Indian LTE is on band 40 across providers. LTE band 3 is also auctioned by government nut service yet to be started on that. Its a hardware radio issue and not something that will get corrected with software OTA.
Its limited to 3g use. I too have the US amazon version and its not possible to use it on 4G.

As for the title, does the Mi 5 LTE+ is using interband CA or intraband CA in stock ROM/any custom ROM?
Since my country carrier is using band 3 and band 7 LTE mostly, and my current carrier claim that they using interband CA (although it's still LTE CAT 4, so the max bandwidth they do support is 20 Mhz) so my Mi 5 can't use their LTE-A hmmm

Interband is B3+B7
Intraband is B3+B3 or B7+B7
However after I research awhile and found that Mi 5 does can support Interband CA since just now I read from Taiwan forum, both Taiwan Chunghwa Telecom and Japan NTT Docomo can use their CA in Mi 5 as the attachment shown below
And both operators are using Interband CA, their config is show below:
NTT Docomo: CA_3A_19A, CA_1A_21A, CA_1A_19A_21A, CA_1A_3A_19A and more
Chunghwa Telecom: CA_3A_8A, CA_3A_7A_8A
And as for what I search, B7 have poor signal distribution, as for my operator I'm most seeing the B3 but B7 is really seldom come out

I honestly don't know, during my searches someone said to me that the problem is the kind of the spectrum (continous or discontinous). Don't ask me what does it mean cause I don't know.. Maybe this is nothing but that's the only answer that I found.. I tried with 3 different phones and I got the 4g plus, with mi5 no 4g plus. I tried all roms (china, global, third part roms) no 4g plus.. Just with b3+b38

Just now I'm also found that the spectrum distribute by my current carrier is also kind of hairwire, inside the house they are almost all B3 while when go to outside the house hey are almost all B7
This is kind of weird, and according to some forum they tell that my current carrier is really doesn't display 4G+ in major phone as they using 10MHz+10MHz (CAT4) which results some phone may just detect it as 4G signal

No way, that's not possible cause I checked with lte bands and I also checked the band used and I know for sure how much Mhz my carriers use in my country and that conclusion is not possible. I also have proofs that mi5 has no problem in detecting 4g plus as the sum of more bands with photos of lte bands logs.. I think that this problem is underrated and I found just few people to talk about it
I got some news, A friend of mine said to me that intraband is the sum of near frequencies (such as b7 and b38), this kind of aggregation is possible in every condition. The interband aggregation (such as b3 and b7) needs a chip called companion that helps to sum the download of distant bands (b3 and b7). Probably the mi5 does not have this kind of chip and so the only possible CA is the one with near frequencies.. I also tested it and it works. I don't know how to confirm this anyway but it makes a lot of sense.

I don't think the US version of Oneplus 3T supports VoLTE on Indian bands. Airtel in India uses 2300mHz (FDD Band 30) for 4G services while Jio uses 3 bands, namely - FDD Band 3, FDD Band 5 and TDD band 40. The American variant of Oneplus 3T does not support FDD band 3, which is probably what Jio is using for calling over LTE in India and hence you can not place the call.
EDIT : This is a hardware limitation and I do not think this can be fixed by tinkering around with the software
