Congratulations, your device now has Native Hotspot without having to toggle data!
You only do this one time and it works continually, making it not that much effort..uninstall shortcut master if you choose...hotspot still works
Anyone?
Something?
As you have noticed correctly many shortcuts no longer work. There is other thread where this was mentioned.
You may want to address your issue in the Note 8 Sprint subforum...

i have been looking around this morning for ways to remove the "are you still watching?" 5 min timeout
tried this from another post @ sprintusers.com
"1. dial ##DATA# (##3282#) when you press the last # it should bring you right into the Programming menu.
2. Select Multimedia, for me its option 6.
3. Select Multimedia Edit, for me its option 2.
4. Select Timeout, for me its option 4
The Time-out optins listed for me are
5 Minutes
10 Minutes
20 Minutes
No Time-out"
But none of the multimedia options were available
I have heard there is a Hex mod, but cant find information on it.
any help with this would be great! thx in advance
I want the HTC screen back not this ugly screen. I also only have 3 slide screens now too.
Uhm... we are going to need a lot more information from you to be able to help.
What did you do before you got the stock android home screen?
Tell us the steps you did to create your issue. We are not psychic.
some screen popped up asking me about HOME and HTC Sence. I clicked Home because I thought it would take me to my home screen and I clicked it to do it by default, because this screen kept showing up for the last 2 days. I know it has something to do with the toddler lock I installed, because it was that program asking me. It happened because my daugter turned the phone off some how while it was still playing.
1. Press MENU button.
2. Press Settings.
3. Press Applications.
4. Press Manage Applications.
5. Wait for the OS to compute application usage.
6. Scroll down the list until you see HTC Sense and select it to go to the Application Info page.
7. Press the Clear Defaults button.
8. Press the HOME button. You should be prompted to select which app to compete the action with. Select HTC Sense and chose to make this the default action.
Hope this helps.

that didn't work but your instructions helped because the next step was to go select HOME instead and clear the defaults there. Maybe that's what you meant.
haha sorry... I'm clearly not awake yet. At any rate, glad you got it sorted!
Happy new year!
This should work for all models. The new craze is pie controls, and you need paranoid android to get them right? Wrong! Get LMT launcher and that's it! All credit goes to zedomax for finding it, and I am just informing you.
Step 1. So, let’s get to it. First, you will need a rooted Android smartphone or tablet.
Step 2. Next, download the latest version of LMT launcher from XDA. Then install it using ES File Explorer app.
Step 3. Open the LMT app, and hit “Start/Stop TouchService” to start the LMT launcher.
Also, you can set “Autostart TouchService” to value 1 if you want it to start when your phone/tablet reboots.
Step 4. For the gestures to work correctly, you will need to set “Set gesture input”. Refer to the device list below and choose the right value for your device. If you don’t see your device in the list, try a device with similar display specs.
Step 5. Test your new PIE control by swiping from the center right-side edge of your screen. You should see a “basic” PIE control like shown here.
Step 6. You can change the color of your new PIE control in Settings under “Pie Colors”
Step 7. Also, the PIE Control defaults to the right side of the screen, you can also activate it for left side of the screen (for left handers), bottom of the screen, or even have it activated for left, right, and bottom.
Step 8. Next, you can customize the PIE Control buttons any way you like by going to PIE Settings and setting them up to 10 buttons and also 10 longpresses.
Step 9. When you add an app, you might not see the logo of the app.
Simply set “Show app images” in settings to 1 or 2 to make it show app logo.
Voila!!!
Step 10. If you set all of your buttons, you should see a nice PIE Control with 10 shortcuts!
Step 11. You can also add gesture shortcuts easily. First, make sure “Set TouchService mode” is set to value 1 otherwise they will not work.
Step 12. Next got to “GESTURES” tab and add your favorite shortcuts.
Step 13. Also you can go to “ISAS” tab and set invisible swipe shortcuts.
Once you are done setting your PIE Control and gestures, you are set to go.
Enjoy and go show off to your iWhore friends how much better your Android is.
And here's a link to the original instructions although mines are the exact same, but just go if you love to waste bandwidth :silly:

this app won't run if installed to the system partition....it's driving me crazy
Hi guys,
So I was really hiped to see how amazing the S6 would be and got very dissapointed with it (no microsd, removable battery, 40% less features, not water resistant at least and much more **** things about it). But despite all the drawbacks, there are, of course, some good things about it too. So here're some features that you can get on your S5 with some simple apps and configurations
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edge Lighting (it actually works when phone is not on a flat surface)
1. Download Edge Color Notifications.
2. Open it and select the blue options in the center top called "Select contact specific color". From there you're able to set different colors for each of your contacts. If you tap on the 3-dots at the top right and then on "PhoneCall options", you're gonna be able to change the default color for unknown calls, column width and animation type.
3. There are other extra settings as well, but you'll need to check them out by yourself as I only use the S6 Edge ones I mentioned above
4. Enjoy your Galaxy S5 Edge .
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
S6 Camera Launch by double pressing the Home button whereever you are (except on lockscreen, but we have widget for that)
1. Download a very old but very handy app from 2011 called Home2 Shortcut.
2. Open it and do everything as I tell you below -->
-where it says --Step1-- select the "Choose App" button and select your camera app.
-on step2 you can change the response and while they say to leave it at normal, mine is at "very very short" and it's actually better for me. Play with this a little.
-step3, select TouchWiz launcher.
-on step4 press the close button as it's written in the app and choose Home2 Shortcut as your default launcher and click "Always".
3. Now when you double press the Home button while your phone is unlocked the camera is gonna launch just like on the S6 (Edge).
Tip : You know how the Galaxy S6's camera is always in standby mode and ready, but doesn't show up in the recent apps list so you don't clear it by hitting clear all. Well I found a ...bug? maybe.. and am able to do the same on my S5. Follow below steps to try and get it working -->
*Whenever you restart or turn your phone on you need to launch the camera from the lockscreen shortcut and then press home button and unlock your phone.
*Now double press Home to launch camera and again press Home to go to your homescreen.
*Now when you double press Home again camera is gonna launch. But when you press Home to close it, it won't show up in the recent apps list.
*Sometimes it doesn't work from the 1st time so do the TIP steps a couple of times until you get it to work.
*Sometimes toggling HDR on/off "fixes" the bug and camera shows up in recents again. Repeat TIP steps to "bug" it again
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
People Edge (works with no bugs whatsoever, even on lockscreen)
1. Download Drupe.
2. When you open it it's gonna ask for notification read permissions, just grant it that and open app again (if it doesn't open by itself).
3. Inside the app there will be a quick tutorial to what everything does, check it out.
4. Now ,after the tut is gone, you're going to see some of your contacts listed on the screen. You can long hold a contact and remove it by dragging it to the bottom of the page where a little "x" will appear at the left side. Tap the "+' button to add more of your contacts to "Favourites" (starred).
5. On the bottom right there is a settings icon, click it and see below steps -->
-Default View - changes view when app is started. Can be "Favourites" or "Recents".
-Applications - tap to open menu. Hold on the 3-lines at the right and drag apps up or down. Apps which are more coloured will show up on the main screen, those below will not. You can assign E-Mail, FB, WhatsApp and so on to each of your contacts. All of those, one swipe away!
-Theme - changes colour of the transparent background of the app.
-Lock Screen - choose look on the lockscreen, "Dots" is the best, 'cause with the others if you tap on the lockscreen, app shortcut is gone. "Dots" doesn't go away, ever.
-Contacts Suggestion - this will add frequently called contacts which are not in your "Favourites" right under them.
-Vibration - guess what it does
-Email Signature - adds a "Sent via drupe" text under each email you sent using the app.
-Thumb Swipe - with this enabled, no need to swipe all the way to the app you wanna use. Just start swiping towards it and you'll see a highlighted line leading to the app which you can drag to other apps. Extremely useful when operating with just your thumb.
-Orientation - changes location of the contacts and apps. Can be left or right.
6. There's a "Search" bar on the main screen.
7. There's also a dialer on the main screen's bottom left side.
8. If you swipe right on the main screen, you'll see either "Favourites" or "Recents" (depending on which of the two you have set as your default screen when you open the app).
9. Long hold on the 3 dots, which when swiped, access the app, to place them anywhere on the screen by dragging them around.
10. Bare in mind that if you swipe to call from your lockscreen, you'll still need to unlock the phone for calling to take effect. This just saves you the trouble of going to the Phone app and calling from there.
PS : App may ask you for your email and fb account when you 1st start it. Just once though, once you're done it won't bother you anymore!
Great! Got the new Tab A yesterday and I have some questions. And OF COURSE there is no manual available and OF COURSE the tech support folks don't have a clue. Here's my questions:
It says I can have the device come on when I open my tab cover. Doesn't work.
The lights on the bottom 2 keys do not light. Tech Support says it'll take a factory reset. On a device less than 24 hrs out of the box.
The left bottom key used to be the menu key. Now it opens multiple old pages. Handy but how do I access menu options now?
Little things like this... Or maybe this is all associated with Lollipop? No idea because no manual and ignorant support personnel.
manuals, soft-keys, and more...
Edit: Apologies on the lack of clickable links, I am currently blocked from posting links until I reach 10 posts

Not sure if you have the 8.0" or 9.7" version, so I have provided both PDF links to the user manuals:
- SM-T350 Wi-Fi Tab A 8.0 - samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SM-T350NZBAXAR
- SM-T550 Wi-Fi Tab A 9.7 - samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SM-T550NZAAXAR
[Note: Click "Manuals & Downloads" then "See More" for PDF link]
For the cover: I would verify that the magnetic parts of the cover are lining up, and perhaps repositioning them by taking the cover off/on. Another suggestion is to go into Settings > System > Accessories > and toggle "Automatic unlock" (turn it off, then back on).
Finally, I would also try a simple reboot and Safe Mode at worst case scenario (please note that App Cache and Data may be reset with Safe Mode, so use this step as a last resort).
Soft Keys: As with most of tablets in the 'Tab' series this does not light up by design.
(We usually ask customers to verify Power Saving mode is disabled but this is not applicable for this device.)
In regards to the Menu key: This is a concept change to match the changes in the Android UI. I believe with Kit Kat you could either long press the Recent Apps (fka Menu Key) or select the "More" or "..." option on the screen. However with this Tab A since it has Lollipop, it would be selecting the "MORE" button (usually top right) or in certain apps the circle action button (usually bottom right).
This is a step back

Some older apps rely on hardware menu key..
So there must be some work around to access it

Help
---------- Post added at 05:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:36 PM ----------
one solution:
> go to settings, personal, accessibility, dexterity and interaction, assistant menu, turn it on and while in the app needing the menu, press the assistant button, scroll to the more options button and that will bring up the menu.
On my Galaxy Tab S3 the app "Galaxy Button Lights 2" resolved the problem. But I tried to install that app on my wife's 8" Tab A, and it did not appear in the Play store, which usually means that its not compatible with the device.
I literally searched for hours trying to find out if the new Galaxy Tab A 8 I just bought was defective because the soft keys did not light up. This was very helpful thank you for actually providing an answer.
