SM-N960F/DS VoLTE Enable

Hey guys. I got screwed buying a note 9 off of ebay because the seller in the USA did not say it was an international model SM-N960F/DS. I use t-mobile and don't have VoLTE, or VoWifi. Can someone walk me through the process on how to enable this through whatever means necessary. I'm not an idiot with technology and phones but also I have never flashed a new rom or anything. Thanks in advance for your help

Am afraid you can't get VoLTE enabled on the T-Mobile USA network with the international SM-G960F model
You needed the UN-branded US-model SM-N960U or SM-N960U1, or the BRANDED T-Mobile model SM-N960T
Hey it aint no screw i would love a f model in US

I cannot vouch for it's effectiveness,but,the dev/user is known here @ XDA.
I'd definitely message 'em before use.
If you use this, please post your results here, lots of people here would be interested & thankful for any info/user results. :good:
With the International model you probably wont be able to get wifi calling or VoLTE working on Tmobile

You will be able to get VoLTE option in the International version. Just insert VoLTE capable sim from your provider and restart the phone. I have tried it with an Indian sim and works perfect. Once you remove the card, VoLTE option disappears.

I have TMO with VoLTE/WifiCalling working on the F/DS model ordered through ebay with an original CSC of MYM (Thailand/Unknown). You have to have root, make a backup with TWRP, and use the detonator from the thread posted above TekHD's thread. Go to their telegram channel there is more support there and an updated version from bigTINY on TekHD's channel. Do some more reading on it but it is possible to get all your carrier features enabled on the international phone.

Your not alone. My samsung Galaxy Note 9 has the same problem. Yet it in my network information 4glte app it says my phone has volte enabled yet it doesn't work or seem to work for anyone?
After updated to N960FXXS3CSG1, the VOLTE and VOWIFI not work
I am considering picking up a SM-N960F/DS Samsung Galaxy Note 9, installing LineageOS 17.1 with MicroG and use with T-Mobile in the US. I have read that certain T-Mobile Services don't work out of the box, however, I have also read of a TMO Detonator configuration that can be installed which restores those missing features. Is anyone able to share their experience with this Note 9 version on T-Mobile? Did you use TMO Detonator? If so, did TMO Detonator fix all the T-Mobile compatibility issues? If not, which features are still missing? Does Carrier Aggregation work? If not, what LTE Data speeds are possible? Are you happy with the SM-N960F/DS Note 9 experience on T-Mobile? Is there still a site which holds the TMO Detonator File/Package along with Instructions? Any other thoughts or advice? Thanks for your time.

Wifi calling with an unbranded Note 8

I bought an unbranded Note 8 directly from Samsung. I find that this version does not have native Wifi calling. I am aware of some services that provide free Wifi calls as long as both are using the same service (Skype, whatsapp, and so on). My current provider is AT&T, FWIW.
Has anyone found any app or workaround that provides me with Wifi calling? Is there any way to get this for general phone work?
You will need to flash the ATT firmware with ODIN. Just be aware that it will also add ATT bloatware apps.
what is the model of your phone

yup odin unless you have an exynos model then you could use the tekhd detotnator which converts it to att or tmobile

If you're on ATT, you'll need to use ODIN to flash the carrier firmware. This will bring back WiFi calling and VoLTE. But it will also bring with it all the carrier bloatware apps.

He just said he has the N950U1 which is the Snapdragon model, so detanator doesn't apply here.

Samsung S10 on AT&T wifi calling and VoLTE

I have a Canadian S10 (973W) which I cross-flashed it with AT&T firmware with odin-patch. The CSC is for AT&T and I am trying to enable the wifi calling.
It seems that sometimes it works but most of the times it does not. I have the APP0008 error. Also when I have the error it seems I can not check the call waiting as well.
Do you know if AT&T fully allows non AT&T phones to be registered for wifi calling? I know some phones work but some other don't even though the software is for AT&T
It is my understanding that it has to be AT&T branded for them to allow VOLTE, WiFi Calling ....
It may be based on the IMEI numbers being restricted.
Now, if you flash the firmware for AT&T it should work but the forums are full of posts that indicate it does not seem to hold. Sorry and I hope and I am wrong ...
What gets me is these features work fine on Unlocked Models with TMo and Verizon... Very frustrating
Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk
U and U1 models are firmware compatible with each other as the "U" stands for Universal. If you have a U or U1 model you can flash any U firmware (Sprint, Verizon, etc) or the U1 unlocked firmware and everything will work given you have the right SIM card for that specific carrier.

US unlocked LG V405QA7 volte and wifi calling

Hello guys having an us unlocked variant is frustrating as At&t and verizon does not support volte and wifi calling on devices that are not in there brand. So with many googling I found out T-mobile supports unlocked phones for volte and wifi calling and so I switched and yes they do support volte and wifi calling manufacture unlocked devices!
I know it depends on the phone as well but if you google then you will see that at&t and verizon only allows those features there branded devices.
Does this mean you were able to flash the T-mobile rom on to the us unlocked phone successfully?
Thanks
No, I don't believe it means that! T-mo is very problematic in that regard as they use a separate and unique signature key for their roms. I don't believe you can mix them and there's a very high risk of bricking your device if you try.
The other reason I don't believe it means that is I have an AT&T phone, flashed to us open version rom, and it has both wifi calling and volte using a t-mo mvno (mint mobile). So, no, don't assume the op has flashed t-mo firmware to achieve this, it's not necessary and may well end with a brick.
cheers

No, I did not flash it. T-Mobile was the only one that supported unlocked devices for volte and wificalling activating them through the sim card network, So you just need a t-mobile sim card activated.
I went carrier shopping and it seems T-Mobile is the only carrier around to support activating those features for unlocked devices and I was happy as I wont be missing anymore calls and appointments.
i got verizon and it says i have hd voice which is verizon's volte service and I'm on this unlocked phone as well

The unlocked phone should be the 5QA7 as the model. But dang guess Verizon and T-mobile support those features for unlocked phones. A rep in Verizon told me they dont support unlocked phones when I asked them about volte/wifi calling. I only know that AT&T are greedy company as they only support there branded phones.

If you convert it to edge 30 that's mean you root it already , you can modify a file to enable it
/data/user_de/0/com.android.phone/files/carrierconfig-com.google.android.carrier-*.xml file and adding these lines there:
<boolean name="carrier_volte_available_bool" value="true" />
<boolean name="vendor_hide_volte_settng_ui" value="false" />

No, my device's bootloader is not unlocked, so it can't be rooted, converted via service box, not the usual way. Device Frankenstein‍
But in Android 13 it will probably open. Because many brands(e.g. OnePlus; volte was very problematic on devices), volte was activated directly with the Android 13 update. Of course when will Motorola release Android 13, that's a big question

Pixel 6 Pro was also my previous device. The situation is different with Pixels, it has nothing to do with Motorola. Google blocks the 5G/VoWIFI/VoNR/VoLTE features of Pixel devices in countries that are not officially sold. This is exact information, you can research it.
You are asking if the software version of the device you are using is the latest version but you know VoLTE well. How is it doing? Don't give information without knowing.

The Moto X30 Pro doesn't seem to be active either. It doesn't activate without root. Even if you convert it to Edge 30 Ultra, the problem persists. I also say that if the A13 update comes, it will be fixed. This was also the case with OnePlus devices.
If i could unlock the bootloader of my device, i would not stop for 1 minute, i would activate Volte with the rooted method

Operators in our country have Volte support, but Motorola has no official sales. That's why our operators don't recognize Motorola devices, they say "there is no device support" for VoLTE/VoWIFI.
Interesting thing is; it has a sound quality like VoLTE active

HD Voice and VoLTE/VoWifi are different technologies and independent of each other. The carrier has to implement this though and allow it. Here in Austria (and other European countries) HD Voice works on 3G and even 2G, while in Asian countries and the US the carriers require VoLTE for HD Voice.

I didn't say anything different. I know there are different technologies but our operators are just that annoying. Support is only available for devices of officially sold brands. Of course it's very, very silly‍
