i have no clue what went wrong,
i installed dr ketan's s8+ rom, when i wanted to go back to stock rom i was not able to due to odin error
"sw rev check fail device 5 binary 4".
i installed lineage os was working properly ...but as lineage os does not have volte support i started digging .... got modem of note 5 phone though about flashing that ...i successfully flashed that using odin ... but the problem started was no sim as there is not imei number now ...
im really in middle of sea with no where to go ..
if anyone knows the solution please revert back .

I tried to install "CRISSCROSS GOES MARSHMALLOW V7.0" rom in my G925F but I forgot what my model number is. All I know is that my phone is G925 (S6 edge international).
Now my phone keeps on rebooting at the Samsung welcome page.
Also, I tried to install a stock rom using odin but that failed too (apparently, you can't go to an older software version)
Please help if you can.
hi there . iam new to note 5 . i have a SM-N920P SPRINT NOTE 5 my device was working fine until I've flashed it with a wrong rom . now the phone is not working its showing on screen ( an error has occurred while updating the device software . use the emergency recovery function in the smart swich pc software ) so as shown on my screen I've downloaded smart switch and connected my phone but it is now showing on smart switch in order to recovery it's software . so moved on to sammobile and downloaded latest firmware ( N920PVPU2BPH9_N920PSPT2BPH9_SPR ) and flashed it via odin but it fails showing this error on phone screen [sw rev check fail binary: 3 device: 2] . I've tried 3 more roms from different sites and all failed with different errors showing . I've saw a video on youtube and the youtuber said that the baseband version is matching with the phone baseband . pleas help me to fix my phone . sorry for the bad english language because its not my nature language . thanks

try download your firmware using this software.

you need .net 3.5 to be install on your pc.
put your model as SM-N920P and region SPR. Tick the binary nature, check crc and decrypt automatically. it will download your firmware. then try flash with odin.

u cannot downgrade to lollipop u should flash same version of installed android or newer version . thats probably because of locked bootloader .
Its not FRP issue. Actually Samsung has implemented security on new firmwares and now we cannot install old firmwares anymore. As I installed:
N920IDVU3BPL2 firmware from Sammobile, so now I am just able to install one previous firmware ie: N920IDVU3BPJ2 and other than this I cannot install any firmware of Marshmallow or Lollipop at all.
If I still try to install any firmware I get [sw rev check fail binary: 3 device: 2] error.
My problem is that the new firmware is not working good and I cannot use my phone on LTE and even 3G is not goos at times so I am helpless at this stage. I think if I try my old modem of "N920IDVU2BPG3" firmware then may be I get LTE because this was the last perfect firmware working on my phone.
ODIN is throwing error so I think may be flashing the modem and bootloader via twrp may work but do not know if it will cause damage and also do not know how to make flashable zip of twrp for modem and bootloader.
Samsung has really messed me up and I hate it. From last one week the phone is not good on data.

I've been reading all I've been able to since Monday here and also from search results in Google, but I still haven't got a clear idea if this is possible or not.
I live in UK and I've bought a new Galaxy Note 5, which I received last Saturday, the phone works fine, but it has a N920V firmware on it from Verizon US, and I want to get Android 7 on it.
Verizon hasn't updated the firmware for this phone since January this year, so no Android 7 on their network, at least I can't find any firmware on SamMobile.
I've downloaded Android 7 for it, but firmware N920C (for Turkey it seems...), I've tried to flash it with Odin v3.12.7, the phone has the FRP lock as OFF and I've gone into the developer options and turned ON usb debugging and OEM unlock, but Odin fails to flash it, I can still boot up the phone and use it as normal after Odin fails no issues, I just cannot flash it.
I don't want to root the phone, and I don't want to install any custom recovery or custom ROM either, I just want to install Android 7 and if possible have a firmware with less bloatware, hence I downloaded the N920C. I downloaded the latest N920C firmware available out of the 6 there is available, so if anyone here knows that I can use any of the other 5 and make it work I'll be happy anyway...

I've flahsed the phone with the latest Verizon firmware from SamMobile, I tried to flash it again with the N920C but didnt work.
Now with the latest Verizon firmware it always throws me an error when I restart the phone saying that the "SIM is not from Verizon", but still works on my EE SIM, so not too worried about that.
Also, I see now a red screen with Verizon name when I restart it, something I didnt have before....
Anyone knows how to get rid of these 2 things? or better even, how to flash the N920C firmware to it?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950F and I am looking to put it back on stock ROM. I have tried downloading several N950F stock BTU ROM's and I tried to flash it in Odin and it gives a message that says FAILED, and my phone that is in download mode says 'sw rev check fail bootloader device 5 binary 1'. I don't know what the problem is. I need to fix this phone as soon as possible, so if you can assist me I would gladly appreciate it.

What is your baseband (in about phone/software info)? eg. N950FXXU5CRK1
If your baseband has N950FXX(S or U)5.... (notice the U5, and pay attention to the "#" after U or S). Find the correct firmware with that number or higher and flash it.
You can Not flash any firmware with N950FXXU4(3,2,1) on top of the installed N950FXXU5.... the bootloader won't allow it.
Try another cable or USB slot and see if the usb-c slot isn't dirty. Also make sure you have the latest ODIN software.

2:- I tried to go back to stock. Downloaded the firmware from Sammobile for N960F. When I tried to flash it using Odin there would be some error, (like secure check fail :
pit file)
Tried it many times. During that I checked the option of nande errase
3:- every thing was erased but It would still not accept Firmware for n960f. At that point I tried to install different custom Roms like Alexis and Dr ketan using twrp but it would not accept it
4:- In download mode the download was written in Korean so I downloaded the firmware from Sam mobile for n960n (Korean) and it was flashed with out any problem
5:- Every thing besides SIM was working on that. So after that I tried Dr ketan's Rom and Super Stable ROM but same problem

Now at this point it is on Dr ketan's ROM. It is showing 2 IMEI's( I have check both are valid). In settings it shows Mode N960F but in download mode it says N960N.... The base band (CP file) is Korean... I does not accept N60F firmware( secure check fail : Pit file) comes up. Even tried to flash only CP file of N960F but (Radio error) comes up
PS: I am in Pakistan trying to run it on Pakistani network

This is original N960N device modded by custom rom to be N960F also add 2nd IMEI to be dual version of N960F, all of this will stop working once U flash the OEM firmware so you will need to edit kernel and repair mipi to get network again cause modded IMEI can't work with OEM FW
