did that already but even after turning on HDR + pictures were pixelated....
The Nexus 6 camera has always been weak taking photos in low light situations. This is why for the 6P the camera sensor was changed to one with larger pixels. HDR+ is the only real fix, as the camera isn't broken.

Thanks you for the swift response but i have tested 2 Nexus 6 cellphone side by side and the one in my possession was taking worst pictures.
any app / apk to test the camera in detail ?
None that I'm aware of. You'd need to run a diagnostics test, and there is no diagnostics app in the OS. In the meantime, perhaps you can upload the image that was taken with the second camera, because looking at your images that you've already posted, they seem normal for this device.
Hi all members,
i am considering to purchase Xiaomi A1, i hear that there is dual camera and optical 2x but i need the review from real people who own Xiaomi A1. Image is good or not (acceptable etc...)
another point about battery, is it enough for one day for daily use
Thank you all
For the battery part I can confirm it last 6-7 hours of screen on time with normal internet browsing, unsure about gaming or watching video.

go for it...
Image quality is Good in both natural as well as artificial lighting !!!
2X lossless zoom works fine also.
the battery life is good mate, i play modern strike online and guns of boom and it easily lasts a day.
the camera is ok but it will hopefully get better with some updates, the most annoying thing for me is no EIS and the 2x button actually just digitall zooms in to use the telefoto lens you need to go to manual mode and select it

I should say the phone is working good in all aspects but I'm completely disappointed with the dual camera, all the indoor shots are blurry (almost all) , to be honest, the selfie camera feels much better than the rear dual camera and the photos look okay in the outdoor. my brother has One Plus 2 (single camera 13MP), It's much better than this phone. I'm extremely surprised to see that many love Mi A1 camera but in reality, it looks very blurry. Initially, I thought It might be a hardware issue, but i don't think it's the hardware issue.
The reason for blurry photos might be because it doesn't have Optical image stabilization, so the output is blurry. Most of our photos will be indoor, so it should give decent output, but I'm disappointed with Mi A1 camera so far. Am i the only one here??? does anyone face this same issue??

Once development started, once we get to port pixel camera with hdr+ that should take care of the problem.. my blurry shots from my redmi note 4x was resolved by the pixel's hdr+ and i'm possitive it's gonna do the same thing for this mi a1..

Nope, results will only change if there's different sensor on different sets. but if there's no other sensor than OV12a10 , thn results won't be different. that sensor is just pure crap, hell even raw images can't give you better results on this sensor. i'm seriously disappointed by this.
i have a redmi 3s, when i saw about this phone , i was happy since it was supposed to come with imx386 sensor and stock android. i thought gcam with hdr+ will improve this phone even better than what it did with redmi 3s. but after trying it with gcam. oh man, never felt this much disappointed. it doesn't come with imx386 at all , and possibility of having imx386 on different set is 0. because firmware doesn't have libs for that sensor.

You are kind of wrong with the 2x digital zoom and telephoto lens, yes you can do it manually by selecting telephoto lens but for the automatic part I have tried, you need to have good lighting condition and than you press 2x on the screen it automatically switch to telephoto lens for optical zoom.
I have covered the telephoto lens and the camera goes black since I have covered it. For the low light condition I tried same thing by covering the telephoto lens and press on 2x and it still works because now this is digital zoom. I'm not sure if this suppose to be like this or a bug, sorry didn't do any research on that yet

Considering that most of current devices (including 5T) are relying on software for taking potrait pictures, Is there any app to bring this feature to 1+3T ?
The Lens blur feature in Google cam seems to be the best i could get after researching on xda, but considering its not so accurate, are there any alternatives ?
There is a way to do it;
First, open the closest Harry Potter book and magic your way into it.
Secondly, When you're in the HP universe, take your phone out and hold your wand above it.
Now, point the wand at your camera, and mutter "Addenum DualCamerium"
Once the blue and green light has disappeared, voila, you've got yourself with a OnePlus 3T with a dual camera. It's the only one in the world, so be careful with it.
Lastly, leave the universe and come back to Earth from the daydream you're having.
My point is, dual camera quality for a portrait picture is only a dream with this phone. And no, its not completely software, the second telephoto lens has some work to do in it too.

Pixel 2/XL uses a special "Dual Pixel" camera that is unique to the Pixel 2 only.
The front camera is just AI which is downright bad.
use facetune app and manually blur the areas

That was a bit rude and incorrect.
In fact, when I had samsung galaxy note 4, it had the ability to make portrait photos (with blurred background) easily and result was fairly good. It didn't have 2 cameras, nor did it use pixels dual pixel technology. My point is, it was done before, probably the only reason we don't have it on op3t is for manufacturers to push new phones to us more often then we actually need them.
For the time being I'm using google camera though results are not as good.
Cheers

The effect which was done in your N4,the same procedure happened as being done by Photo Blur in Google Camera, whereas OP requested a better method with a better quality and near dual camera quality, which is impossible our phone.

The depth map pixels Dual Pixel thing creates is not that detailed so it mostly rely on machine learning. Currently the pixels front facing camera produces the best yet portraits from a front facing camera(ofc it is better than lens blur). Which is better than the iphone x with all those sensors. So there is a possibility of it getting ported. We all know how long it took to make a good Gcam HDR+ port. :good:

HI All , have a wonderful year ahead.. n yeah NEVER SETTLE
For the rear cam it works on our device, chech the modded GCam thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/modded-google-camera-hdr-60fps-video-t3658552
The apk with portrait mode is in testing
I am using a non rooted nokia 7 plus. And in gcam, the resolution is restricted to 4 mp. Any way to resolve the issue?
What i think is this is related to the implementation of camera2api in the front camera or something from the system because i have tried with other apps and they register just 4mp and no 16mp...
and i thought nokia fooled us, bcz selfies from stock camera app doesn't look like of a 16mp sensor
only the Nokia Camera app reports the front facing camera as a 16Mpx
My guess is the sensor it's a 4Mpx and they just oversample merging multiple shots
This habit to declare the software resolution instead of the native sensor resolution is very common among the Chinese manufacturer
I think we just have to admit ourselves that this HMD is a much more Chinese company than the old Nokia was....

its good that nokia only done cost cutting in front cam , cuz im not a selfie freak , and in good light its works just fine ?
Its not about if you use that lens or not. If they have put a 4MP lens then why are they lying to us. I did hardware tests from 5 sources, all of them show a 4MP lens.

It shows 16MP on my end, under the Hardware section of the Camera tab on the Device Info HW, with root for low-level access. However, under the Software section it shows 4MP like any other as you have mentioned, and perhaps that's telling something. ?

ye it is wrong , but it was just an opinion , although many other manufacturers do the same , in this case it was just that we are not expecting this from nokia , a 4mp lens and bootloader locked forever
Well I'm stumped.. I recently got an S10 as the Huawei fiasco finally helped me chose the Samsung over it. I have had an S8 for 2 years and liked it very much but was looking forward to the improved cameras on the S10.
After testing it numerous times and comparing I couldn't believe it - The S10 jpgs are overly processed, even in ok indoor lighting (ISO 400 or less) to the point where they are actually much much worst than my S8.
As a comparison, see the attached pics that speak for themselves. S8 on the left, S10 on the right. Granted these aren't perfect but they are within the same lighting conditions, no tweaking (full auto) and take from the same angle. I think the Laserdisc wall one is the most convincing. I am using a SD855 variant with the latest updates
Have I got a defective unit ? Reviewers out there have been praising the S10 camera as being amongst the best if not the best. I can't believe the S8 would be giving considerably better results ?!
Well, comparing the RAW from the S8 and S10 it does look like the S10 is faring a bit better I would say (more details) so that was even more surprising. I tried the Gcam app with settings for S10 and it seems to confirm that the issue is directly tied to the Samsung app and processing. I had read that it was very agressive in noise reduction but it wasn't has bad on the S8 by an important margin. Moreoever, comparing the file sizes from Gcam to Samsung Cam indicates a way heavier compression on Samsung's part (same pic is 2.2 MB Gcam, 800kb SCam). See attached Gcam left, SCam right, should be obvious by now).
I agree, very disappointing. The s7 was better even, IMO. Using the Google camera port had gotten me excellent results, though, so I'm still satisfied with the phone overall. I really hope Samsung fixes their app, but I'm not holding my breath.

Which version of Gcam are you using? Do you know if telephoto is supposed to work on it? I get standard and wide but suspect that zooming is only digital. As well, no pro mode on gcam?
do any of the gcam apks support the wide angle on the s10e?

I'm using the version in my screenshot with the s10cs2.xml configuration from the gcam thread. Telephoto doesn't work. I also have turned off Pixel 3 AWB and have set exposure compensation to +0,8
Hope that helps.
Edit: turning off Pixel 3 AWB made a huge difference for the better in the color of my photos.

Interesting I'm on 1.5 with top motion XML. I assume it must be quite similar but it does have pixel 3 awb enabled I'll try turning it off, thanks.
Straight tripping dude. This camera is phenomenal. I was just at a pool party and was getting better, clearer, pictures than my step daughter was talking with her iPhone X.
I don't see any difference in your first set of photos. Not sure what the second set is supposed to be highlighting. The colors seem very vivid and the contrast looks spot on. The lighting isn't perfect but that's not the cameras fault.

The OP's assessment is right on in my experience, but if you're happy with it, enjoy! I wish I was happy with the camera, but it is just too processed for my taste. Anyway, as I said earlier, I'm thankful for the Gcam option.
