[NOOB] How to enter recovery mode? - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Hi, I'm new to this phone and I while I was trying button combinations to enter the recovery mode, I ended up hard resetting my device...
So, my question is:
Which button combination gets you into recovery mode?
As far as I know:
1. DOWN + Power = Fastboot
2. UP + Power (Hold for a long time) = Hard Reset
I was trying to get my cache wiped because I was stuck on the lock screen after getting the latest security update, and I just got the phone today!
Thank you all,
Daniel

I'm sorry if I sound rude, but did you actually try that method? Don't bother doing it if you are scared of a hard reset (read: wipe data).
I tried rebooting to the recovery via ADB and it didn't work either. I guess this phone doesn't have an user accessible stock recovery...

[Q] It's possible to unbrick?

I made a grave error:
Cyanogen installed and noticed that the speaker phone did not work, I went into recovery mode and tried to restore a backup, but gave error .. inadvertently restarted the phone and now he is on screen Galaxy S GT-I9000 wonder if there is any hope of saving my phone. Thank you.
Updated: I discovered something strange on my phone, it is actually a Samsung Vibrant with the firmware of the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S, as you can see in the image's (When trying to turn on the phone it stays on this screen, nothing else happens) ... If I try to download mode (up + vol down + power and put the usb cable), a screen appears with the symbol of loading frozen. I wonder who has the experience with brick, with the JIG can I get into download mode. thank you
If you can go to Download mode, no worry.
Flash stock ROM and continue to custom ROMs if you want.
But here is a great tip for you: do not use backups untill its really necessary. Backups are only for emergency situations.
First do a factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik cache, flash ROM again etc etc. But do not try backup file first

Download mode = volume down + Home + power

[Q] can't root and can't enter recovery mode

hi all!
i have a problem with my samsung galaxy next.
I'm not able anymore to enter in recovery mode and also to root it (i have also tried to root it via pc).
If i try to enter in recovery mode (vol up+home+power) the phone says "ramdump mode".
Another problem is that if i try to restore factory settings the phone reboot in recovery mode showing some error and it doesn't restore factory settings.
I can just reload stock rom via odin :crying:
I would change rom, with the stock one the battery draining is unbearable.
the problem with the recovery mode came after i came back to stock rom (i have tried mod rom).
Try vol down+home+power. It will work.
EDIT: Oops this is the download mode! As other guys telling Home+Power only.

Turn off your phone, Hold your Power and Home button at the same time, when the Samsung logo comes up, release the power button BUT keep holding your HOME button. Then go Wipe data/factory reset, it's the same thing.
"Press "thanks" if I helped you "

You don't go into recovery by holding volup+home+power buttons. You go into recovery mode by holding only Home+Power buttons.

RAM DUMP & Download Mode is else, you don't need them now (yet). Try to boot to recovery (vol up+power) and try to wipe cache & dalvik cache, and then try to boot the phone

you tried ramdump mode and download mode, to get in recovery you have to use volume up + power, without home button. try to get in recovery and factory reset
EDIT: you have to keep pressed the combo i said for a couple of second after the samsung logo apper, then you will se an android out of a box, it is time to touch menu key once, you will see screen change brightness, if so you are getting in recovery mode
Hi,
I had this problem a few weeks ago, and the only thing that helped was flashing stock rom with odin. After that everything works fine.

I can't run that command. Stuck on < waiting for device >
The device either gets stuck in bootloop or turns off. Doesn't do anything else.

Before you've flashed the rom, you must have checked your "fastboot getvar all" right? Post everything you remember from it (Version-main, cid, mid, hboot version, s-on/s-off).

This was actually done a while ago. I don't remember/don't have anything saved from back then.
I would like to wipe out everything and factory reset the phone, if possible at all.

A factory reset will only wipe the /data partition where user data is stored, it will not restore your phone from a bad flash. Without the possibility to access bootloader and without any information about your phone nor the rom you've flashed, I can't really help. Try all the usual tricks to get in bootloader mode and if you can access it there might be something to do.
OP were you able to fix this?
Im in the same sh1t hole. Had HTC laying around. Used it for few weeks and then flashed it with some rom...
Now wont turn on or go to recovery mode. Just stuck in boot screen.
same thing with < waiting for device >

Here, had a same problem with m8... What I used to do, (while it was stuck in the boot), was press volume up and the Power button. it would switched off (as a restart), and in that short period, I would release vol up and switched to Vol down button (witht the power button still pressed) to enter recovery.
not sure for m7 though, but I hope this helps...

I'll give it a try. Doubt it will work but thank you!
Must of tried everything, spent a day on it. Reading google and other forums. Downloading million of files too. lol.
If only i could get phone to communicate with my computer i would have pushed something on it already but it doesn't.
Damn thing stuck in the Fastboot/Hboot screen. Will not go to recovery, keeps rebooting itself and trying again.

Getting into fastboot mode?

Hello,
I want to put my 5th generation tablet in Fastboot mode. (I tried through recovery and system) but it won't get me there.
I tried volume up and hit the power button, but it starts and bootloops. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Many thanks in advance,
Felix

If it starts and loops when attempting to access Fastboot then the bootloader is likely damaged. If accurate there is no known recovery on this device.
