I have a rather stupid question/curiosity:
I have P20 Pro and I have noticed that I don't have the automatic brightness checkbox next to the brightness slider in the notification panel, whereas some Mate phones that I saw until now have it - it is a general rule? I haven't got any other P model phones to compare with.
I know, silly ?
I had it on a Mate 10 Pro but it is gone on my P20 Pro (Emui and Android 8.1 156 c432 firmware right now).
If someone knows how to bring it back... thanks in advance.
Do u use any themes ?
nope

I have a problem .. some times when i switch on the screen everything changes to very small even the navigation bar icons .. its like the resolution changes and everything will be small .. ill.post a screenshot when it happens again .. a workaround i go to screen resolution and change from hd to fhd then back to hd and the wallpaper , icons, settings and text comes back to normal size.
Help is appreciated
Same issue here with a Mate 10 Po. I set the UI to "small" and UI (navbar and buttons bar) sometimes become huge but this is the only part of the UI that seems to be affected. Quite strange and annoying …
EDIT : "intelligent resolution" is not activated.
Are you guys having the latest firmware update?

Hi! I noticed that if I swipe up to activate camera from lockscreen, I can't switch between frontal and back camera (and vice versa): it only allow me to take pictures with the last opened camera. There is a way to solve this?

Same as yours. I also noticed that it worked once and then I tried again but it didn't switched :/
Ok the whole upper bar (the one with flash/portrait mode/...) doesn't work. I'm gonna try wipe camera datas.
Guys, my bad. In two weeks I didn't figure it out and as soon as I ask help here I find the problem ? I set Cerberus to block status bar when the phone is locked and apparently it blocks the whole touchscreen area of the status bar. That's why I couldn't use the whole bar of the camera app! Anyway, thanks a lot guys ?
Hello,
only recently I purchased the Huawei P20 Pro (with Android 8) and was very pleased with the timeout option for the lock screen, with allowed me to disable the auto lock for a reasonable amount of minutes after turning off the screen.
However, after the update to Android 9 Pie I cannot find the option anymore. Was it removed or where can I find it? Are there maybe apps that would bring back this option?
Thanks!

The feature seems to be missing on all EMUI 9 phones, i can't find it on the P10 or View 20 either. Strange, it is such a major bug but not reported anywhere!

So I just got my Mi 9 after deciding to move over from my Samsung galaxy S8. I don't understand what the hell is going on with the notifications it's really putting me off this phone after using for 2 days. From the lockscreen I can't see any notifications. Status bar just shows the time. I've checked "show icons for incoming notifications" in the notifications and status bar settings. However it only shows the icons for a few seconds before showing the clock again. Pretty inconvenient that I have to unlock and swipe the status bar down just to see my notifications.
I find it ridiculous that all these manufactures are making funny notches and cutout around the screen to increase screen-to-body ratio and increase size but fail to use all that space extra space to not only enhance user experience but to show important information that I could see easily on my previous smaller screen devices.
Am I missing something or is this how Xiaomi intend their users to view notifications?
Yes, that is the way to show notifications. I come from Mi 8 and it was the same. I'm really waiting for a update soon, because this mistake again is unacceptable.

Bump. I read the problem was solved in a recent OTA but it's not for me. My notifications disappear after a second. It's very frustrating
Any update here? This Feature/Bug ist unacceptable!

Yes, it seems to be solved since version 17 of stable ROM together with the toggle to disable the artificial rouding of the notch but for some reason this update was not pushed OTA to everyone.
I'm stuck on version 15. Maybe they found bugs and pulled it or it's only available for some other chanels (on EEA here)...
Do you have a screenshot of the fix? I am on version 15 too. Cant wait for fix...

I am on EEA 17, it's not fixed there. It's only fixed in global betas, which we can't get without unlocking bootloader.
Only disabling the notch extra rounding is there, but no notification icons, which is indeed stupid.
Maybe for some guys a quick help:
Search for Notch Notifications for MIUI.
That way notifications get shown under the clock...
New problem after it was fixed by Xiaomi
If u hide the notch, the notifications cut off right before the notch even tho there isn't a notch preventing them

Its like that now on Android, it only shows 5 icons. On my Mi A2 running Android One, it would cut even if there is no notch. Worse, it does that even on the system icons at the right.

Ow thanks for that insightful comment. Huh, didn't realise that's the case. Wondering how i didn't notice this when I had OnePlus 5T where I used Oxygen OS, some AOSP based and some Lineage OS based ROMs on pie but somehow didn't take notice. Maybe the status bar was shorter on it causing smaller icons so more fit in that width. Or maybe because this one has curve in corners unlike 5T which reduces usable space

Train the adaptive brightness. Keep moving the slider to the desired brightness that you feel comfortable with in the dark environment. It'll learn your preferences gradually and you mightn't be required to alter it moving forward.
However, I am not sure which build your are running and it might be broken. I am running MIUI 10.3.5.0 and have no problems.

By Adaptive Brightness I mean adapting the brightness slider according to your usage. You won't find Adaptive Brightness menu under MIUI as it more or less embedded in the system. You can either wait for the next update or move to EEA ROM that just got updated recently. You'll need an unlocked bootloader though.

I still have feeling its to dark at home a always have to make it by myself auto into dark .
There is still no answer why ?
Go to a darkness room,..... settings, display, ..... disable Auto Brightness........ then slide the bar or set the brightness at you preference......... now enable Auto Brightness.
Done!
Now that set is the lowest bright of your phone!
