Train the adaptive brightness. Keep moving the slider to the desired brightness that you feel comfortable with in the dark environment. It'll learn your preferences gradually and you mightn't be required to alter it moving forward.
However, I am not sure which build your are running and it might be broken. I am running MIUI 10.3.5.0 and have no problems.

By Adaptive Brightness I mean adapting the brightness slider according to your usage. You won't find Adaptive Brightness menu under MIUI as it more or less embedded in the system. You can either wait for the next update or move to EEA ROM that just got updated recently. You'll need an unlocked bootloader though.

I still have feeling its to dark at home a always have to make it by myself auto into dark .
There is still no answer why ?
Go to a darkness room,..... settings, display, ..... disable Auto Brightness........ then slide the bar or set the brightness at you preference......... now enable Auto Brightness.
Done!
Now that set is the lowest bright of your phone!

I think the brightness level in update o2 OB17 is low(outdoor brightness sucks)? any idea how to increase the max?
Google's Product Sans:

Anyone got it for OOS OB17?
hi,
in my 3T, the brightness is erratic, like it becomes dark, then bright or too bright. i think the phone is trying to compensate from too low to too bright. and this just happens when i am in my room or indoors.
it's irritating.
In my case the auto brightness has been tuned very well and better than that of nougat and am very happy with the brightness in open beta 17
Just flash this via twrp View attachment TWRP_GoogleSans.zip
If you're not satisfied with auto brightness, you can use an app like Velis Auto Brightness or Lux.

Me too, minimum brightnes is darker now, very useful at night
I have a rather stupid question/curiosity:
I have P20 Pro and I have noticed that I don't have the automatic brightness checkbox next to the brightness slider in the notification panel, whereas some Mate phones that I saw until now have it - it is a general rule? I haven't got any other P model phones to compare with.
I know, silly ?
I had it on a Mate 10 Pro but it is gone on my P20 Pro (Emui and Android 8.1 156 c432 firmware right now).
If someone knows how to bring it back... thanks in advance.
Do u use any themes ?
nope

Hi guys!
I have a Mi 9T Pro (Global)
MIUI 11.0.1 / Android 10
The light animation on my ambient screen does not work. I tried changing the region to Indonesia and India but nothing. I have the configuration activated perfectly.
I would also like to know how I can use the call and contact apps of Xiaomi and not Google.
I await some response. Thanks
Similar to the thread for the OnePlus 7T I measured the OnePlus 7T Pro's display with my Spyder5. I'd like to share my settings so that you can have a neutral display colour. Keep in mind that every panel might be slightly different. So as always: YMMV.
Requirement:
- Custom kernel
- Kernel manager that can tweak KCAL
- In this case: OOS
Got to Settings > Display > Screen calibration
Select "Advanced" and "AMOLED Wide Gamut"
Set the slider (see the attached screenshot)
(Unfortunately there is no percentage or something similar to adjust it accurately.)
Go to your kernel manager app
Set the RGB to 253, 256, 253 (= lower blue and red to 253)
Done
Additional information:
- On my device I've noticed that it has less green no matter what you change in OOS' screen calibration.
- The profile is calibrated towards 6500K. Changing the preferred temperature might yield to slight color shifts but it will be better than not reducing the green tint at all.
- This profile is calibrated towards the 50% screen brightness. Changing the brightness may also slightly change the colours.
- In the end it would be enough for the average user to simply reduce the red and blue pixels to 253 and then set the preferred colour temperature.
Nice!!! Very useful.
Hope can make calibrate to 6504k(D65) setting.

Took me half an hour but here you go. Set it to 255, 256, 255 and the colour slider needs to be very far to the right.

There you go. This is the last time I'm uploading custom profiles, I hope that's okay with you. If you want further adjustments, I can recommend the Spyder5

Thanks for the setting:good:
What setting/ kernel/ app did you use make the RGB adjustment & 'color control' changes.
I cannot find it in OOS settings nor in Franco kernel manager.....

I use EX Kernel Manager
EDIT: Here are my calibration settings in case someone wants to have sRGB with 6500K at 200 cd/m2. The calibration slider for warm/cold in OOS' settings is completely to the right.
@Macusercom Is the display calibration of the OnePlus 7T Pro the same as the OnePlus 7 Pro?
Is the "natural" display mode not accurate? Anandtech's review of the OP7 Pro (couldn't find one for the 7T Pro) mentioned that the natural mode was better than anything you could get from the advanced mode.

Ice Bear would use the natural color calibration...however, the display calibration changes to vivid when locking the screen and it stays that way until Ice Bear sets it to natural again. Ice Bear does not use the fingerprint sensor. Android 10 messed up the calibration profiles.

Hm, a known bug (maybe it needs to be that way for the FP sensor to work) is that the lockscreen always stays at the default vivid calibration, until you unlock the screen, at which point it changes to the one you selected. Ice Bear is saying that it doesn't change back to natural when Ice Bear unlocks the screen? I'm using a 7T Pro. I tried the calibration profiles but I decided to stick to natural.
Another long known OOS bug, idk why they're not fixing it, is that the screen is blacked out after first boot although it's active and receives inputs, you have to turn it off and on again to get it to work.

I'd have to check again. I've used advanced for K-lapse but as it broke the fp sensor, I left it as-is. But despite the natural mode being neutral, it probably uses another whitepoint. I prefer 6500K but that ultimately comes down to personal preference.

Generate a fully white image (#FFFFFF) and display it on your device. Use DispCal on a Mac or PC and check "Interactive Calibration". Place the Spyder on the computer's display until it is done.
You may now put the Spyder in your Android device and see the RGB balance as well as brightness

This is some awesome next level creativity. Thanks I will try it myself.
Hi everyone,
Android 12 introduced a feature called "Dim Screen" which allows you to further reduce your brightness than lowest possible on brightness slider, but it is missing from MIUI 13.0.4.0 Global Update for RN10 plus. Is there a way to access this feature. I'm asking because apps like Night Screen or Night Owl, which I used to rely on before dont work on Android 12. You cannot interact with UI if any app is "displaying over other apps". I really need much lower brightness at night and its became a hassle.
Anyone knows the solution?
If you're rooted, you can use cf.Lumen on the A12 MIUI ROM. It doesn't seem to have any issues with displaying over other apps, and it's a great app, one of the best of this kind, because it doesn't just put an overlay on the screen, it directly affects color channels.
Without root, I think I remember Twilight causing no issues like that on A12.
I doubt the dimming feature is accessible in MIUI, given that MIUI handles brightness quite differently.

In ancient looks like this:
Same here. On the Xiaomi 12X the extra dim feature is not avaiable. Latest global 13.02
Download the apps called MIUI downloader from Playstore, there was a tab called hid. Features and you will find the extra dim feature there.
Just activate it and it will be shown in control center toggle also
