I notice the camera does not work in landscape mode when in Dex/screen mirroring. Anyone know if it's possible to get this to work?

Hi!
How can I do, that the Camera starts portrait mode as default?
If running the Wisbar Advance (and Desktop) and I use the Camera, when I go to the Today screen, it's a too long time to rotate the screen from landscape to portrait.

[Q] enable landscape on touchwiz?

Hi i was looking into the files of touchwizlauncher and widgets and all apks have landscape images, so it should support landscape? (JPH/JPC/JM8 i checked).
Even on JPC i had landscape for just a moment when i was coming back from a landscape app (couldnt reproduce it).
So there must be some setting to enable landscape...
is anyone interested and capable enough to look into this.?

Decompile the apk and check its manifest, does it rotate based on user,sensor...etc
You could maybe use this bug to determine what is being enaled to allow landscape.
I cant post a link as I'm a new user but the thread is on this site and the title is "Galaxy S i9000m touch wiz landscape bug"

[Q]Change the gt8.9 into landscape bias?

I know gt8.9 is portrait bias right now, I feel quite lag in landscape mode and I always use landscape more than portrait.
So can anyone help to change it into landscape bias?

It's not that easy, it's display hardware that is rotated 90 degrees, so you can't just psychically unrotate it. If you just remove the HW rotation line from build.prop then everything will be messed up.
Its probably not impossible, but it requires a lot of work. You need to have all proprietary source files to rotate every sensor.
One thing i don't understand is why Samsung did it the way he did. They must have known about this Tegra 2 problem.

[Q] Camera preview on SurfaceHolder without full screen preview on HDMI?

Hi!
I'm developing an app for my Galaxy Cam. I want to display the camera preview image on a SurfaceView which is placed somewhere on the layout - but not full screen.
This works like a charm.
But I also want to display this app on the big screen via HDMI. Unfortunately, after activating the camera with this surface holder, the HDMI output changes to full screen camera preview only.
When I activate the camera (and the buffered preview) without setting the surface holder, the HDMI content will still be the normal screen.
Is there any way to use the surface holder preview and get the normal screen via HDMI?
Thanks alot in advance!
Solved it
Well... I just figured out that I can use a TextureView instead, which will not result in a full screen camera preview via HDMI.

Do you have Auto-rotate enabled? Pull down the notifications until you see the quick tile settings and make sure it is enabled. If you don't see Auto-rotate there, go to Settings --> Display --> Advanced and turn on Auto-rotate screen.
@alryder: He's referring to portrait mode in the camera, not portrait orientation.
@iamfarhanansari: The N6 doesn't support portrait mode, as portrait mode like in the Pixel 2 devices uses a dedicated processor along with a heaping dose of artificial intelligence. The closest you likely will get to portrait mode would be a camera app that has a bokeh setting.
