stock gallery app - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

Hi does anyone have the stock gallery app. Currently on RR beta 2 and the gallery on that does not offer to adjust the aperture and focus mode after shots been taken

You can try my APK. Extract the archive and copy the whole "Gallery2" directory to /system/priv-app, then reboot.

It's the APK from VTR-L29C432B374
This was one of many things why I switched back to EMUI.

181mb for a gallery. Is that right.
EDIT. Does not work but thanks

Jep, I didn't compress anything.
Maybe it doesn't work because of missing EMUI framework.

You will have to extract the .so file out of the lib file in the apk and put it in the system/lib folder on your phone...then put the apk in your system/app folder and reboot.

[TUTORIAL]How to fix weather force close issues when theming

Ok A fellow XDA member showed me this trick (thanks to killathenoob for this)
so i'm going to show you how to fix weather wallpaper force close issues when the sound option is turned on for sense 3.0 roms. The problem lies in: com.htc.resourses.apk inside the res folder there is a raw folder, inside of the raw folder is the weather mp3 files. so heres what happens after you mod your apk like always you recompile it and put your file in the zip and it compresses these mp3's.
This is what causes the force closes.
Here's the fix: get a clean unmodded com.htc.resourses.apk from your rom, open it with winrar and copy the raw folder to your desktop. Once again this is located in:res/raw once its copied to your desktop take your modded com.htc.resourses.apk and open it with winrar(DO NOT EXTRACT) delete the raw folder out of the file and drag the raw folder you saved on your desktop into the file. Now when winrar asks you to confirm the instillation of this folder be sure to select to store only(DO NOT COMPRESS). Once this is done close it back up and drag it back into your zip file. When winrar asks you to confirm the move, again select to store only.
Now flash your zip and enjoy your weather wallpaper with sound effects
Very much needed. Thanks for sharing this to community.
no prob. bro..
Very nice fixed bro.... good job...
no probem man my theme has been updated with the fix and Iapaquette420's theme is fixed now as well. so glad this info surfaced and helped us all out.
thanks for this buddy, your a lifesaver thought it may have been one of the 'weather' png's causing the problem once compressed, didnt think that it could be the audio files , thanks again mate, i owe ya both
Glad I could help

Cyanogenmod gallery apk

Hello,
I have uninstalled CM gallery and would like to put it back, but havent found any separate apk. Could somebody please do it for me? Or if there is a way how to make Moto Gallery delete pictures properly, it would be fine. I've tried another build, but still the same problem.
Thank you
Jakub
Unpack the rom. Go to system/app and copy the apk (itll be in the folder usually called Gallery2).
Make a zip of the apk using zip me app from play store and flash through recovery.

How do I "rip" the gallery from a ROM (zip)

Hi, I want to know if I can rip the AOSP gallery from a installed ROM (or ROM zip).
I also need the editor to work.
Who can help me out on this matter?
Thanks for your replies!

For ROM zip you would need to unzip it using 7-zip, then navigate the system/app folder and find what might be a folder called "gallery" everything you need should be inside that folder. For an installed ROM just use a file explorer app and navigate to the system/app folder then copy and paste the gallery to the root of your internal storage. All this assumes the gallery is in the same location as the photos app is on my stock ROM.
Awesome, found it.
I usually backed it up using ES Explorer, but that broke the editor.
The lib folder is now included, so I should be good to go. Will try later!
Thanks!

The unzip will not completely work with the changes google is making. The newer compiled roms are compiled into images and not like they used to be.

Forget about ripping it from a sysimage. Install it as an application from specially modified sources;
https://github.com/lbdroid/android_packages_apps_Gallery2
Or if you trust me, binary; https://github.com/lbdroid/Android-Binaries/blob/master/Gallery2.apk

I already encountered the image thing you both mention.
Luckily I was able to pull it from the installed ROM.
Got it working now. Editor works just fine.
Last thing though...
Each time I hit the edit button, the pop-up for "select action" shows up. It only displays the editor to select.
Is there any way I can get rid of that?
Setting a default action for it somehow, somewhere?
