Hi Guys,
Im using JVK + the hacked Voodoo kernel from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975349) and it seems im missing PPP support now so my VPN tools that use Point-to-Point Protocol do not work. I have tried compiling the kernel modules myself but Ive had difficulty finding source code and config files that work.
What I need is to enable the following modules:
-PPP Support for async serial ports
-PPP Support for sync tty ports
Can anybody help me with this?
Thanks everybody, great help.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
A nobody knows
or B you will have to wait for release of Gingerbread .
It has not yet been released .

I dont know why its taking so long to release the source code. Seems to be the route of all my problems at the moment.
Hello guys,
I am brand new here,as after 3 years of owning a X8 i decided to jump to other ROM,because i was bored of the simple design of his menu and i was so frustrated to stay back with android market when my friends had messenger for facebook e.g.,i had to refresh again and again my opera..and much more apps and games i would like to play. So,i decided to start searching for new ROMs,and i found MIUI,but i wasnt able to find a stable version to dl for my phone. Then i found JB Mini Project,I succeeded on installing it on X8 but there is one thing that wont work in every version of JB i have tried!THE WI-FI!It is really frustrating for me!I am so begginner to those things, but i understand that its not only me that will have this problem and that developers might be working on it right now(I am 3D designer and i know about beta versions of things, even I have to release again and again my creation because of a bug),but i really hope someone had this problem too and found a fix on it..I tried a fix i found in forums with Titanium Backup, but nothing...
Anyone knows anything..just help me out with this.:crying:
Thanks in advance guys!:cyclops:

Patience my friend x)
What wifi problem do you have? Unable to detect Adhoc connection?
Have You tried this Kernel + Rom ? (All JB rom is unable to scan adhoc wifi. Except if you make changes to the source and compile it yourself)
If you want to surf the internet but with not using wifi and using a cable, This is a Post for you.
use back stock ROM (just kidding

Maybe the rom + kernel combination is wrong or the rom is just being buggy.
I just personally liked nAa's work because he release a stable version of every product.
If you want to change into the recommended rom that I just told you;
1. Flash the latest kernel (06)
2. Follow instruction on the kernel post. (/system wipe at recovery before flashing a rom & etc)
3. Flash the rom. Followed by the GAPPS
4. As it said, this is my recommendation steps. I do not guarantee your satisfactory

Hi guys, I noticed one thing, I hope you can be of help.
I tried several ROMs, Zeus 6/7IZS, CM10/10.1 and now I installed the Mackay, I noticed that as the Zeus 7 recognized that our cpu Cortex-A8 (as confirmed by wikipedia) instead of the other rom, the same type mackay recognize an A7.
I do not know if he can be of help in improving the code and performance, but it was right to tell you. :fingers-crossed:
Sorry for my bad english

Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [broadcomCM][ROM][MTD][4.0.4] CyanogenMod 9 for GT-S5570i [BETA 5.1]. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
First, thank you .. but I have a problem with the rum, the screen becomes black after the appearance of the screen icon CyanogenMod ,, This happens when I put my card and I will be, and what a handsome actuation normal operation to remove them ,, When I put something else in between SIM card, insert remains in the screen, and enmities remain spin Unlock sim
I apologize to the English, Google translation xD
Don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this, but the ROM currently drains the battery like crazy.
In fact, the SCREEN battery usage alone takes up 96%. Ouch.
I'm switching to Hyperion 8 for the moment.
Hope you get your PC problems solved! Good luck Biel

Some suggestions for working on BCM21553 Roms(cooperve, totoro, tassve)
Hi,
I wanted to know if there is anyone working/willing to work on BCM21553 roms? I'm not an android dev but I researched about BCM21553 phones and I found some info regarding fixing the issues with CM ports of these devices(mostly CM9):
- CM9 audio issue
these are commits developed by Conn(psyke83 +, +) which solved audio routing in cm11 (Conn came up with them after Biel +, + had stopped development of CM9 and I thought applying them to CM9 tree might solve the issue):
commit1: https://github.com/broadcomCM/andro...mmit/0635810ff827eb2d27bdd87099412449d7315cd1
commit2: https://github.com/broadcomCM/andro...mmit/20ffc2a9179e193d2c20071af623e674cb666079
commit3: https://github.com/androidarmv6/and...mmit/c0a7f3c12507ffb32f354bf428167aa04d42b5f7
commit4: https://github.com/androidarmv6/and...mmit/c33c4f7dd99bb86cacf802c388e6dbbe78a9dca6
commit5: https://github.com/androidarmv6/and...mmit/02f652675f17ce228f8235c95ec88a9d109daaa2
commit6: https://github.com/androidarmv6/and...mmit/eb32975071ab927f3356ecf8e76fc92cf5254805
You'd better apply these step by step and compile for simpler debugging of potential compile errors.
- CM9/CM11 OMX codecs(Video Recording Issue might be an effect of this issue)
I did a research to find out similar phones to ours which have a working port of CM and I found Samsung Galaxy S II Plus + ,+ , + which has the exact same GPU(VideoCore IV) and almost same Broadcom chipset(although not the exact BCM21553). I thought getting it's codec blobs(from here) and applying the following patch might lead to working hardware codecs.
The patch: https://gist.github.com/pawitp/7945188
we might need reverting the following commit for the above to work: https://github.com/broadcomCM/andro...mmit/801313cfc1b13b27f9feb2e64a384945a89db330
- CM9 USB Tethering
The fix seems to be already in CM9 device tree but it didn't get compiled by biel!(CM9 device tree updated after the last BETA5 build)
relevant commit
- CM9/CM11 Torch
Again comparing with GS2 plus I came up with following potential solution:
commit1: https://github.com/SamsungBCM-Cyano...mmit/2667be0aa8dbdc9263c5de9cc72b9c9bf65035f8
commit2: https://github.com/SamsungBCM-Cyano...mmit/10cbc504c6b1a96cdadca564b2f8de5996b40791
My phone keeps crashing because of the kernel not letting me switch to permissive. Does someone have a build where this is patched, or could someone help me build it? I've tried building it with WSL, but I got hundreds of errors that wouldn't make sense to be in a finished kernel build. Can someone tell me what I need to do to build the kernel successfully?
