Hello,
I have a problem with my p20 pro, when i shoot in raw mode with flash on the picture doesn't show the flash, it's like the flash and the moment the phone captures the photo are not matched.
i tested this in a dark room, pro mode/raw/flash on , the flash activates when i take the photo but when the photo is saved there is no flash, it's like i didn't use flash, and i know the difference between flash and autofocus light, even tried with both flash and autofocus light on.
Are there any other people having this problem ?
PS this problem is mentioned in a tutorial "a photographer's guide to the Huawei p20 pro"
I found that when I use the flash always on whilst in raw it works. If its just flash on and it takes the photo and flashes it doesn't work.

The camera is good. The flash thing I don't see to be much of an issue for me anyways.

Hi all, gotta say this is a fab camera, the best camera i have ever owned, and love the fact is has SLR features, but........
the flash on this device flashes twice, in all the flash settings in expert mode,
what i need this device to do. is ether some way to hook up a external flash or have the on device flash only once so i can trigger a remote off camera flash via a optical receiver,
whats happening with me, is that with the camera flashing twice the first flash triggers my off camera flash unit, and then the second flash takes the picture, which results in the darkened photo, the reason i need off camera flash is to fill in the shadows behind the subject, i have also defused the light with a custom defuse box made of cardboard and tissue paper which works very well but i need to remove shadows with a second or even 3rd flash unit
I don't think you'll achieve anything here. The flash is one of the weaker elements of this camera. There aren't any adjustments relating to it.
I find the fact that you cannot force the flash 'on' to be the most frustrating, and no flash fill option is a pretty bad omission.
As you say, it's a fantastic camera but is let down by the flash. I doubt anyone can offer a solution but good luck anyhow.

I have been right through all the setting in Expert mode, but the flash still flashes twice when taking a photo, i need this to only flash once so i can trigger a remote flash
On my device it only flashes once in expert mode as said above. Select fill in or red eye setting for flash. I have android 4.1.2

Fill in Flashes twice really fast, and red eye also flashes twice but a longer delay between flashes, in P mode
all my flash options flash Twice, and the photo is taken on the second flash, i cant understand why Samsung would not include the option for off camera flash on this camera, maybe some one can develop the ability to stop the first flash, or even design a Bluetooth or Wifi flash unit
i have found out that this double flash issue is in fact a pre flash before the main flash,
is there anyway to disable the pre flash on this device
Anyone having problems while taking photos in low light using flash?
When i take photos using flash there will be a white flash on one side of the image as if something is blocking the flash.
I have attached the samples taken in superior auto mode.
Is this problem specific to my device only?

This is a factory problem with most white Z1. I had the problem and change the phone with a black unit and the problem it´s almost gone.
yep happens to my white one but not on the black.
This happens with mine, but only when I have the case on it, the light reflects off the case on the second flash and gives the "ghosting' white look to the picture... unfortunately most cases are causing this same problem.
I've noticed the front facing cam takes terrible photos in low light, even with snapchat flooding the screen with white to take a photo. However, using the front flash in the Camera app producing excellent results. How do I make snapchat use the physical front flash?

Ok well 1. I don't even see that option, and 2. I think that would toggle the "flash" that just lights up the screen since most phones don't have a physical front LED flash like this phone does. I want to use the actual flash.

Just installed it, yeah all it has is the full screen light up flash, I would send a feature request to developers

As if Snapchat would listen to their Android users thanks for your help though!
It's probably not ideal and I dont know if it will stay on if you switch apps or turn off camera, but if you open stock camera app then switch to front facing click the flash icon, you can select torch and it stays on continuously. Don't know if that may work, and if it does it's a sloppy solution...

Snapchat Beta Had the feature for a bit in 2019
They had implemented the front facing flash feature in the Beta but they seem to have removed it again... i liked having that feature...?
Hallo everyone.
Many times, when I shoot a picture in internal, I would expect that camera flash works (in auto mode).
Instead it doesn't and pictures are quite dark; If I force camera flash on I can see the difference and it's a lot better.
Does anyone agree with me? Is there a way to tell the phone that I want the flash working even with more light?
I am not satisfied with that and it's the first time I notice such a thing in my phone history!
Thank you!
I've been testing my note 8 camera but I realized that I can't use flash or HDR while I'm using live focus...
I used to have an iPhone and I could do that ( Iphone 7 plus iOS 11 ).
Is there a way to enable the flash?
Thanks guys
I think, as live focus used both lenses, using the flash will not work. As it takes two photos at the same time, the flash is not strong enough to fill the wide angle photo, making the live focus unusable
you can still use flash in the 2x mode , just no portrait affects as ur used to with flash
I'm wondering if the camera app can be modified to make it so though
Most cameras dont use flash when portrait mode is active...i have honor 8 pro..same here
But when I had an iPhone 7 plus I used to take portraits with the flash on
Galaxy Note 8 live focus flash
Is there a way to turn on the flash on live focus mode?
Ive seen the Iphone x portrait mode with flash and Im kinda sad because i dont have flash on my note, its a real buzz kill
:highfive:
In my experience, the note 8 has excellent low light cappabilities, I rarely need flash, I have used flash only in extreme dark conditions as in outdoor at night, for normal indoor with standard room lighting, I never use flash, I dont see a need for flash when shooting live focus, but that is my opinion...
