Hi I am using the LG P970 optimums black
1. Can I CAP SCREEN without rooting the device??
2.How Can I get the STOCK unlock screen of android (left unlock right sound/virbate)?
3. What is the ROM & RAM size of this device?
I GOT 1.09GB ROM availlabe and ~210MB RAM available after booting
THE OFFICIAL SAID 2GB ROM & 512MB RAM
is that normal for my device??
4.some stupid question..
how long did you hard reboot your phone?
(NOT USING TASK KILLER/FAST REBOOT) ETC
OR DO YOU HAVE SUGGESTION FOR FREE RAM OR SPEED UP THE DEVICE??
5. FOR THE PATTEREN LOCK, IF I TRIED OVER THE LIMIT,
CAN I UNLOCK THE DEVICE WITHOUT CONNECTING TO INTERNET
I USUALLY TURNED DATA & WIFI OFF.
CAN I GET THE CONTROL RIGHT BACK WITHOUT HARDRESET IT?
For speedup, try this fantastic script : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111145

For Q3, well, out of 2GB ROM only 1GB is user available.
For 512MB RAM, well, when your phone is working, various system apps and installed apps and services etc. use your RAM so you get around 200MB free RAM only. (rest is being utilised). Well even with task killer and RAM optimizer, i was able to reach 290MB free RAM max on Optimus Black. (Yet to say, OB is still good compared to Galaxy S & Desire where you hardly get 150MB RAM available.)
[[ PS : more about rooting and stock ROM, custom ROM etc. related queries, please browse through various threads and find yourself.
Extra PS : please press Thanks button if this post was useful ! ]]
Hi, from what I've learnt don't use the task killers. Android kernel will do that clean up task itself, it will automatic kill idle threads and use ram for neat threads. Plus ram is the place where supposed to be filled with frequently use apps in order to bring great efficiency, no? Ram just like a tank of gas inside your car, it has to be fill up.
For the lock screen, did you try to use another launcher?
Thanks for reply!
I am not going to ROOT my device since it would void my warranty provided by LG hong kong. they claimed NOT TO ROOT it.
#4: I never tried the launcher. Do you have any suggestion?
Man, from my side I say to myself: just do it.
Few bucks doesn't make me think that much (void or not void). You will soon get the joy with your phone.
I think there's way to bring the phone back to the stage where we originally bought it - I don't know I need to search more on how.
Anyway, I dream LG service centre just like Apple service centre - they will fix your phone or give you brand new replacement if it is an iPhone.

And what's the warranty? AFAIK even it's rooted, we still can go back with original stock ROM KDZ
You can capture your current screen by pressing Home+Power button at the same time. In regards to loosing warranty, please note that rooting your device is COMPLETELY reversible, as you only add two files to the filesystem (the su binary and the superuser apk) which you can then remove and unroot without them knowing this happened.

I have just bought a new Galaxy Note and I think it is really really good, but there's just a few things that I'm not sure how to do and what certain things mean etc:
1. I have only ever had a H symbol with 2 arrows in the notification bar. I thought that I would have a 3G symbol but this has never appeared. Question is, what is the H symbol and is my 3G working? I have just turned off fast dormancy, as I have read that it may drain batter, and now I have an E where the H usually is. What is the E for?
2. I'd like to improve the battery life and I have read on here of a few ways to do that. One of the ways is to make sure that apps don't update too regularly. Where do I actually go to check how often the apps update?
3. I have downloaded a few apps and some have saved to the SD card and some have saved to the phone. Why is this? How do I choose where apps save to?
4. I used to have an iPhone 4 and I was forever double tapping the menu button and closing down apps. As far as I am aware with an adroid phone you don't need to do this? Is that right?
I'm sorry for length of this post and the amount of questions that I have asked. I am normally really good with phones but the galaxy note is more like a computer and I would rather just ask the questions than figure it all out myself over time.
Thanks in advance.
H is like 3.5G its a little faster than 3G bit still not 4G. E or edge is 2G.
You can check in the settings of most apps itself how frequently they auto update
As far as moving apps go you can go to setting then apps and choose where the app is, except for system apps.
To close apps and not have them run in the background you have to long press the home button and then swipe the app you want to close

H is the fastest internet you'll get on your note, the downside of it is that it drains the battery pretty fast. As for me, I switch to it when I want to load YouTube videos, download lots of data and similar. You can download a "3G switch" widget from Google Play to quickly jump between H(3G) and EDGE(the E symbol, slower internet, but much better battery life)
By turning off the automatic sync, you save a lot of data and battery life, you can do that via Settings > Accounts and Sync. Personally, I find it better to manually refresh my email and similar when I need it, but it's your decision.
Since Note has a massive internal memory, you should keep all apps installed to the internal memory rather than the SD card, for the fastest experience, since none of the apps need to load from the slower SD card.
Android handles processes very well by itself so there is no need to manually "kill" apps. If you wish to end some unresponsive ones, you can get SystemPanel Task manager from the Google Play store, it's pretty good.
Feel free to PM me for any further questions

besides turning the global sync off, you can:
- check the betterbatterystats thread, it may seem confusing at first, but it's worth the effort
- disable gps location
- in all internet apps (e.g. facebook, rss readers, weather etc. ) turn the automatic updates off (or set to every 8/16/24hr)
- if you feel brave, check either autostarts or autorun manager in the market (both apps paid) - based on trial and error you can disable triggers which make apps to autostart, without damaging their functionality
- avoid taskkillers
- check lama (also on market, free), you can set it to do a lot of things, like turn wifi on when you're at home and switch to mobile when not, turn sync and internet off when screen is of etc. etc.
Hello, I just bought myself a Samsung Galaxy Tab s8+ a few days ago. I tested genshin impact on it and gets really underwhelming performance (high sub 30 fps with bad frame pacing, and low reaching only 40 fps)
I then try to test with 3dmark and I got this score on the screenshot below. Am I scammed or something? I bought this from official retailers. Any help would be appreaciated.

I'm using samsung galaxy tab s8+ which host snapdragon 8 gen 1 and Adreno 730 GPU. It's not listed in that link. And it should've performed better specwise.

Yes it should be better. i heard they under-clocked the tab cuz there'd no vertical room for a heat sink. maybe something with that ?

I think it's a problem with my unit specifically. I tried doing a 3dmark test with other demo unit in stores and it gets 8000+ scores. I'm not sure if my unit has problem hardware/software-wise
I WANT to believe it's because i still didn't flashed a newer firmware (it's on some from november 2021, 3 months before official release - it even got the s7 stock wallpapers), so it's driver related. But yeah, mine is lacking in horsepower also. It skipped some of the antutu's bench tests, while Geekbench gave it 1250 single core to 2400 multicore. Every single test i put it through (benchs, device validation etc) says it is an sm-x806, though.
One other thing is also the ram pool it has. Mine's only 6,9 available (1,2 reserved for something), android system using up to 5,5 all the time. So, actually i have less ram in it than in my s21 (up to 3gb), wich is on latest update available.
Does the app SD Maid help ? I am a minority user in that I am rooted and so I get the tricks of SD Maid Pro. Sadly, now I am a freezing maniac ! In GeekBench 5, I got a score of : 1223 and 3443. I am on Android 13 now.
( on Amazon, I got the 906N )
Another way to get the tablet to run better is to remove bloatware. Below is a list I came across on the web.
Of course, all praise go to the hard work the web page maker did... ( Helen ? )

I got about the same score from Antutu and Geekbench. Also has around 3-4 gigs of ram available at any given time with no apps running. My model is SM-X806B.
I've been thinking if it's driver related but I'm not sure what to do. Also thinking about Overclocking it but it's brand new and I don't want to get it rooted yet. It's really frustating how low the performance is set by Samsung. I was expecting some beast of a tablet but this sucks.

They listed pretty much all samsung apps in that link. I don't think all of them is "safe to remove bloatware". Got to be careful.

Just an update:
I finnaly grow a pair and did the update. Too expensive to be ****ing around. Glad my country is part of yhe OXM code, so it disnt break anything when i changed from EUX to ZTO, even though it remain as EUX.
Performance had a great jump. TAB rarely display stutters, even on power saving settings. Before then, it was choppy as f. Memory pool also has widen, as up to 4gb to use. Benchs, though realtime experience had significantly improve during tests, did not improve that much on numbers. Antutu gave me 650000, while geekbench gave 1210/2860, still below the average. Could be because I live in Brazil, and they must have concerns about temperature.
All of the errors I was dealing with also got resolved. No more red flashing borders when upside down, no more update errors, nomore sudden crash/glyphs when playing games.
No cooling solution whatsoever.
Thermal MOD (hardware) Galaxy TAB S8 Ultra
This might not be useful for many, but if anyone wondered why their TAB performs "bad" under heavy usage (gaming, benchmarks, etc...) S8 series (all of them) have almost next to none existent "cooling" solution. Here is the S8 Ultra for example...

Most of us will never fix it. Samsung F'd us BIG time? So return your SCAMSUNG TAB ASAP. I wish I can.
Never ever gonna buy Samsung again after this one.

Samsung F'd jus and no amount of debloating will fix it. After paying 900e for S8+ i have to debloat their #@[email protected] software. F Scamsung.
Chineese company's will F them back for sure on their income side. and they deserve it.
I uninstalled game booster, game tools and game launcher and disabled game optimization services with adb Commands then turned ram plus off and disabled or put into deep sleep unwanted apps and it made a big difference in game play and battery life for my s8 11 inch.

Game booster, game launcher, game optimization services have to be uninstalled/disabled with adb Commands. From what I found you need uninstall game booster, game launcher and game tools with adb then disable game optimization services with adb then it will stay disabled even after reboot but try check just search game booster or game launcher in settings and if nothing pops up then it's uninstall or to can go to system apps and look for game optimization services and see if it says disabled.

To re-enable Samsung Game Services on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, you can follow these steps:
Open the Samsung Galaxy Store app on your Galaxy Tab S8.
Search for "Game Launcher" in the search bar.
Find and select "Game Launcher" from the search results.
If the Game Launcher app is already installed, tap on "Open" to launch it. If it is not installed, tap on "Install" to download and install it.
Once Game Launcher is open, tap on the three vertical dots (More options) in the top right corner of the screen.
From the drop-down menu, select "Settings".
In the Game Launcher settings, look for the option "Samsung Game Services" or "Enable Game Services" and toggle it to the "On" position.
If prompted, follow any additional on-screen instructions to complete the process.
I did a factory reset to re enable Game services and the game I play is playing better now. I'm running galaxy app booster 1-2 times a week and wiping cache partition and repair apps 1-2 times a month. I also am using thermal guardian set to max(slider all the way to the right) with all additional settings off. In game booster make sure auto manage performance is off and I'm using the labs setting for alternate game performance. In device settings I have all additional settings off and disabled or put to deep sleep stuff like Bixby, are doodle , etc. I also have ram plus off
