Strange behavior opening Amazon links - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

I'm using the stock note 9 email app. For some reason and it only occurs from emails from Amazon i think, if I click their link I get the following screens on my device after link opens with Samsung browser.
Samsung browser has been set to be my default browser. If I uninstall Chrome updates on add remove programs the app chrome crashes if I press the link.

Have you tried disabling chrome completely after uninstalling its updates?

Yes Sir, and it works perfectly fine that way. But that doesn't answer why this is occurring. All started when I used smart switch to migrate stuff over from note 8 to note 9. Basically if I disable Chrome then all is good. All other links via email open via Samsung browser except for emails from Amazon, which open in Samsung browser yet pop up with the attached screen shot.

You might have to do a reset and not use smart switch.

Another Missing Feature - Samsung Link?

I have also come to notice that (at least) our AT&T Galaxy S5's are missing another app. It's called Samsung Link, and is one of my favorite "bloatware" apps. I called Samsung Tech Support and they blamed ATT, so I'm not even going to try and pursue it further. Does anyone see this app on their phone? I haven't had the chance to check if the other carriers have this app installed or not, but if anyone knows that would be awesome.
Thanks.
Not on mine.

So you don't have it either?
If the other carriers have it I'm seriously gonna call AT&T and ragemode on them. That's just ridiculous. It's on EVERY OTHER galaxy device made after the S2...
Samsung Link isn't in the international too as app
I think Samsung add it to another app
Go to application manager / all scroll down and you will find samsung link platform

Really? I have tried to find out how to access this app and I've checked everywhere. No dice. And yes I did see the samsung link platform under app manager.
This is really lame. Samsung blamed ATT, and they didn't even put it on the international version...
Isn't S-Finder suppose to be in the drop down notification menu? It's MIA.
Called Samsung back and they said that it isn't preinstalled anymore but should be downloadable from the Play Store within a few days.

It works on my g920i but I cant sync my bookmarks...
Edit- its missing bookmark sync apk i think.
It's working, but it's buggy. Can't enter a link into link field, cause I've got fc immediately. Also, it can't remember download folder. Everytime it asking for it. G920F.
Works 100% got bookmark sync running also.thanks
Great browser. Thanks

Non its good on my g920f 5.1.1 :good:
Maybe you go in parameter and authorized apk install
Force close when I download something. Besides that it's pretty top notch.

Seems to work well on my g920w8 (Canada)...
Wow! That's a lot of permissions it wants!
It's been crashing a lot on my OnePlus One. Doesn't seem like many 1+ owners have been having this problem, though, as I haven't come across any discussion about it (neither here or on the 1+ forum). I've since gone back to Chrome.
What about performance compared to Chrome and Samsung stock browser?
I thought it was reasonable "zippy" comparing chrome. But the bookmark sync wont work for me so i gave up on it. If it did... I'd be using it.
How can we get bookmark sync to work has anyone got it to work and if they have can you tell us haw i would be greatfull because i like this browser compared to chrome or even the stock samsung beowser

Images in text messages ?

Not sure , never had this issue before. I receive some kind of low quality images with some of my text messages. Can anyone advice what it is please and how to turn off? Thanks.

It basically shows a preview of any internet url, not sure about webpages that don't have photos. The preview kind of sucks as it's limited but somewhat gives you an idea. That way you don't have to click on the url to figure out what it is if it's not familar to you.
One example, one of my lil brothers used to send me youtube links that were gorey, etc. He knows I don't like viewing them. Now he can't trick me anymore.
Or if you happen to receive spam texts or texts from parties unknown you can get an idea of what the link is instead of having to visit a url that might be harmful. I don't know, I've never received spam texts or from people I don't know but just a thought.
I can see how it can be annoying to some but at least we have the option & can turn it off as desired. To add, the stock Gallery has a new feature I've never seen before (maybe the S8 had it, I don't know). If you take a screenshot of a website it'll include the url so you can visit tge page again in the future. I have it turned on but have not tried it yet.

Samsung pay error message.

Going with the spirit of the forum I decided to try Samsung Pay. Setup two cards . I attempted to purchase an app from the Samsung store, but I receive the error message "Secure UI not ready" come back in another minute.
Any ideas whats causing this, DPI?
Edit. I changed my DPI back to 360 from 340, still didn't work.

If i recall to be able to use Samsung pay correctly the following needs to be done
Lockscreen/security needs to be setup (PIN or pattern)
a Samsung pay pin needs to be setup (separate from android lock screen pin)
Optional: iris/fingerprint setup(can be used in place of pin when paying for stuff, but Samsung pin still needs to be setup)
Payment card will need to be enrolled then authorized by bank/institution (which usually requires phoning them so they can white list the token ID generated by the phone)
I don't have a locks screen setup or anything. I'll try that later. I've got a pin setup in Samsung pay and cards enrolled.

I setup fingerprint and still no go. Still comes up with same error message as before. Can't be bothered with it anymore . Thanks anyways.

I've uninstalled it.
If you can't uninstall it, then just disable it in the App Manager.
Yeah. Unfortunately anything built in to the system will probably be doing something in the background from time to time. I do use the email app occasionally myself, though I think email is becoming a pretty outdated concept these days with so many other ways to communicate. Sadly though, until our device gets root, the only way to stop this is by disabling the app.

With my N960F I can uninstall it (I can't remember if it's even installed in the first place).
I don't use it just because it ask for admin permissions for any business account added, which I don't want to give, so instead I use Nine.

You'll need to do it with ADB then.

You can use Package Disabler Pro for Samsung from the play store. No root needed for snapdragon at least.
