I wanted know if Redmi 4a (Rolex) has Xiaomi's Anti Rollback Protection because i would like have the option go back the stock ROM via Fastboot.
Rolex will never have anti-rollback so you don't have to worry about that.
It will never have that cause it's an Oreo feature

Does a Mi 9 have anti rollback protection? when I check mine with fastboot it returns value 1. Also xiaomi.eu rom in the provided table says only few xiaomi phones are affected with ARB protection..
Then it is on the first version of ARP. Had the output from the command: "fastboot getvar anti" been blank then the installed rom had not been protected from rollback.
The rollback protection is in the firmware, not the phones hardware.
Hi all !
I have recently purchased this phone from Orange Romania (Europe) service provider so I think the phone is SIM locked on Orange's only signal. Is it safe to switch from 12.0.4.0.RKSEUOR to 12.5.1.0.RKSEUXM ? The 12.5 OTA did not came for me and I would like to receive the updates as other EU devices and not be stuck with provider's version of updates.
it's safe. download and manual install full 12.5 firmware
Thank you. Is there pc app that i could use to backup the stock rom? In case I need to restore back to RKSEUOR if I need to use the warranty? I have tried but I can't find anywhere that particular fastboot rom to download.

If I've switched ftom RKSEUOR to RKSEUXM, can I safely lock the bootloader using oem lock command or will it brick and not able to boot or unlock it again?
i think is safe relock bootloader, but i'm not 100% sure. i suggest u search some detailed guides on web. the firmware change in your case is not a problem. maybe you can encounter other problems if u don't will make the correct relock procedure
I believe, as a security feature, each time the bootloader is locked or unlocked the user data is wiped.
I have been running my device on the EU ROM after switching from Vodafone with the boot loader unlocked with no issues. Still get OTA updates and all security and banking apps run no problem.
I thinks customer Rom are safe, only if developer are good.
I have a Chinese variant of xiaomi mi 11 ultra with Chinese rim. I would like to flash eu rim on it. However I cannot unlock the bootloader. It always gives the following message.
you are unlocking a special device which should do with special permission
Can someone please tell me what can I do to unlock this.
closed.
Did you go to the Developer Options first and selected the Mi Unlock? Also the OEM Unlock. Another reminder, MIUI 12.5 sucks and throws up the whole FASTBOOT. I had to downgrade my Redmi Note 9 (heh MediaTek dead) to 12.0.3 and then it worked.
greetings everyone, is it possible to change the rom?
Possible, provided you unlock the bootloader.

If you have a Chinese model, do not re-lock the bootloader (brick).

Yep, this is done with Miflash, be careful " flash and lock "box is checked by default (see the tutorial).
With a stock rom you will need to root and use Magisk modules for the phone to be certified (banking apps, Netflix, payment).
The best is to use a Xiaomi Eu rom where everything works without root and with the unlocked bootloader.
Mi unlock/Miflash/Xiaomi Eu rom will erase your data.
its fine with me to use EU rom, thanks
Do note the devices are not completely the same; Poco users who flashed the Xiaomi.eu rom which is based on the K60 rom are unable to make calls unless they flash the global modem.
