Mobile data turns off when I turn off WiFi! - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hi,
Anyone else having this issue with their note 9? So when I have WiFi turned on overnight and when I wake up and I go out of WiFi range (WiFi is turned off), I realize my mobile data is turned off. I would have to go under settings > connections > data usage to turn mobile data back on. I'm not sure what the cause is and it seems to only happen after long WiFi usage (like overnight). The weird thing is it doesn't always happen. I'm not sure if it is a battery saving things or something is turning it off. Please help! Thanks

Wifi Standby Policy

I was playing around with the Wi-Fi sleep policy settings and I am little bit confused how it really works.
The default setting is something like: "turn off wifi when screen is turned off".
So as I understand it it should disable wifi when the screen is turned off.
However when I checked my device list at my router it seemed that my n1 was still connected through wif, even after the screen was turned off. Only after 5-10 minutes wifi was really disconnected (when I turned on the screen again the wifi symbol in the top bar appeared after some seconds). I read somewhere that there is a difference between disabling wifi and disconnecting wifi?
BTW. the wifi sleep policy is supposed to save battery because it is said that 3G in idle mode requires less power than a wifi connection, but I read that with the nexus one the opposite is true. so what's the truth?
It's normal for the wifi to disconnect after several minutes of inactivity once the screen turns off. As for your very last question, I don't know... but I imagine that idle 3G is less power intensive than active wifi, otherwise it wouldn't be the default option...

Any APP to prevent deep sleep?

Hi!
Having troubles with a 520 because once it enters the deep sleep state, it'll start getting Whatsapp notifications only when waking it up.
No battery saving setting is turned on.
An APP that wakes the device from time to time would help.
Thanks.
Perhaps you either have cellular data turned off, have no data signal, or are set to only receive notifications over WiFi? By default, WP turns off WiFi when the screen is off and the phone isn't plugged in. I think there might be an option to change that, but I don't recall where it would be.
There are definitely apps that will cause WiFi to stay on in the background (I think pretty much any streaming music app does this?), but those will wreck the battery life if you just leave them on all day. Apps are also able to periodically (~every 30 minutes) do some stuff in the background even in the phone is sleeping, but I'm not sure if this is allowed to wake up the WiFi and cause it to connect.
If the problem isn't WiFi instead of cellular data, I really don't know what's going on.

WiFi remains active even after I disabled (battery)

Guys, tonight I decided to switch off mobile data and WiFi when I went to sleep. Now noon, when the battery was almost over I decided to analyze some attention to battery depletion statistics and realized that even turning off the WiFi it continued to appear that spent the whole night on. Also, see that shortly after I slept network operator turned yellow. How to explain? My carrier has the much more stable network overnight just by reduced use and the absence of network overload.
He had the 3g network enabled, less mobile data.
It happens to me too. I guess it's only a visual issue, I dont think wifi is draining battery life.
Due to Wi-Fi scanning always available. Its actually keeping the Wi-Fi on if that option is chosen in Wi-Fi advanced options. Turn that off and you'll see that your Wi-Fi actually shuts off.

wifi shuts off when phone sleeps?

everytime when i charge my the phone, my wifi is turned off. I have to turn it back on, but it works fine. just wondering if there's a setting to leave it on.
Yeah it's in the advanced wifi settings. This is a setting that has been around on Android for a while.
check wifi control history, maybe there is some app that switches it off? Works fine on mine, are you using power saving mode?

i already checked the wifi always on in advanced wifi settings. there are no apps listed in wifi control history. and no on power saving mode.
any other suggestions? im pretty sure it's a setting related problem, but all the setting mentioned I checked. the always wifi is on, nothing in wifi control history

WiFi standby drain help

Just received this phone and enjoying it so far however, I've noticed on WiFi that I've set it to Never under keep WiFi on during in sleep, but when I leave it overnight and check battery stats the WiFi chart is telling me it's been on?! Also seems like at my home WiFi the standby drain is more then elsewhere I've been staying? Is there a setting on my WiFi I would be aware of?
Thanks
Setting - security & privacy - location services.
Tap the 3 dots upper right corner.
Tab scan settings.
Make sure Wifi-scanning is disabled.
That's off, it must be related to my router if it didn't drain at a friend's house over night, not sure what though!
