Now there's an easy way to shoot RAW on some third party apps on the Mi Note Pro.
Look for:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3419579
Do like on the OP:
Just add: 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1'
to the build.prop
I can now have RAW format plus full control on apps like: "A Better Camera" and "Manual Camera".
Stock Camera still working for me but some apps don't work anymore (like "Cam Scanner").
I am on eu Miui 8.
the problem is...... I can't modified the "build.prop" file.
I'm already unlock the phone and gain the root promise, and use the ES Explorer but still modified the "build.prop" file. it siad "some system file do not allowed to change promises"
how can you do that?? Thanks a lot.

You are on official xiaomi rom. You can't change system file, try with Xiaomi.eu ROM
---------- Post added at 10:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:48 AM ----------
I added this line in build.prop, after a reboot my camera doesn't work (stock MIUI camera, snap hdr camera, snapdragon camera and manual camera)
I'm on MIUI 8 6.7.21 from Xiaomi.eu
I am on 6.7.7 Xiaomi.eu
I used the app build prop editor.
No problem with stock Camera app which is identical than before.
"A better Camera" and "Manual Camera" offering me full control an RAW photo format.
Some times a green line appears on the photo. Seems that if I take care to close every photo app before opening another, I have no problem.

The RAW is useful for post processing on a computer only. I will try Snapdragon Camera. Did you install it manually or with the zip?
I Will try and discover RAW file later.
On MIUI we can just open apk file.

Try to copy the apk file to "/system/app" and copy lib file in "/system/lib"
I will try
Doesn't work. When you say lib file, you mean both lib files from the link you provided at first, don't you?
How you take raw pic. The final pic have .raw extension ?
.dng
Snapdragon Camera doesn't work at all
You choose RAW in the settings of "A Better Camera" or "Manual Camera". In fact it takes photos both on jpg and RAW at the same time, RAW photos having th .dng extension. Then you can see and edit them on "Photoshop Express" or Snapseed on android or photoshop on Mac/PC.
Hi,
We can use our stock camera app in custom roms like LineageOS, AICP, DU.I only tested on DU but I think it should also work on other roms.
How to install it:
Flash it with TWRP and reboot to system.

When you shoot in RAW you record all of the data from the sensor. This gives the highest quality files. And when it comes to your awesome images, you want high quality.

what version of camera app and what is your xz1 firmware? none work for me
47.1.A.12.235 is the rom version (i believe i downloaded the french version as that was "closest" to my country)
I have it rooted according to these instructions.
I do not know if the google camera app works with the Locked bootloader. It might.
I unlocked my bootloader even though i could not back-up my ta partitions because i really "need" root access.
The camera app is the one @chivi posted here(apkmirror) i was glad to find a Working google camera app.
Hi.....
Google Camera 5.1.018.177624777 (READ NOTES)
would be the latest version that works, the rest does not work.....:good:

Anyone tried like this?
https://www.cyanogenmods.org/downloads/camera2-api-enabler-zip-file-download/
It's a single line of code that you can do manually by hand in system properties:
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
Afterwards use some of the up to date better more customised ports:
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-parrot043/#apk1156
My phone is still locked so I can't try it, by the way there who's a system update this morning (September security patches and other, nothing crucial) 388 MB.
Best regards.

I neex gcam for Sony XZ1, portrait mode
Hello, I am using Potato Open Sauce Project, and I want to have a camera that can use all of the camera sensors and/or can take 48mp photos instead of 12mp ones. Does there exist such a camera for this device? I've tried anxcamera, but it cannot take 48mp photos.
flash the 48mp magisk file for anx fix
i did, and then it took 2.8mp photos instead of 12mp ones

Gcam does. It works. Produces a 22MB file of 48MP. You need the Eszdman magisk module for that too but it works. I can confirm.
