Desperately need Help Samsung Insight Device Program Note 9 - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

I desperately need help this is the second time they sent me a code and it says "promotion has already been redeemed" it must be something wrong but don't know where. When I filled out the survey my 1st choice was an Unlocked device 2nd choice was T-Mobile. The code is for an Unlocked device. I followed the instruction to a T. Is there anyone out there that got a code for an Unlocked device? There is only one thing that confuse me I was instructed to choose an Unlocked device so that's what I chose but I have re-read the email this is the part I'm confused with the email says: "Select Unlocked (you must choose assigned carrier, otherwise your promo code does not work)" I select Unlocked from the choices but what is that part in parenthesis mean? Could that be why the code didn't take? Please anyone that got the email that says choose Unlocked device is there a way to choose Unlocked then the carrier? It seems each had its own category to choose Unlocked and all the carriers are listed separately. I was instructed to choose Unlocked then it takes me to the next part of the order form. My question is anyone that received a code for an unlocked device Did you just Click on Unlocked or did you choose unlocked and a carrier?

HTC raider, need help with unlocking

I have a HTC raider that is locked to bell (a Canadian carrier). Android version is 4.0.3 and software number is 3.38.666.2.
I found some videos on YouTube that show you how to unlock using a code that you buy online so I did that and got a code. I entered this code when prompted and it accepted the code but it didn't unlock the phone. Also it seems that the phone will accept any random 8 digit code but it will not unlock it. Like it will say successfully unlocked from network with any random 8 digit code but when the phone reboots it asks for the code again. The same thing happens with code that I purchased online.
My first question is that the raider on the youtube video asks for "SIM unlock pin" but my phone asks for "IMSI unlock pin", so what is the difference?
Second question is why does the phone accept any random 8 digit code when none of them work? Can my phone even be unlocked with a code?
Third question is are there any other ways to unlock it, like how jailbreaking on iphone you can unlock it via software; is there something like this for the raider. Is rooting a similar thing?
Finally I tried this but it did not work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1681145
On HBOOT it says S-OFF but on the top it says "locked" and read out was exactly the same as in that post.
Please help.
Ok, so I finally got the bootloader unlocked and its S-OFF and the phone is rooted (I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343625) . Now I'm under the assumption that I need to install a stock or custom rom and my phone will be unlocked? Am I correct in this assumption or is there more to it?
There is somewhere in the dev forum a thread dedicated to sim unlocking the raider via a flashable zip. You have to enter your imei into a website and they email a zip back to you. No idea if the thread is still alive tho, but I have used it to successfully sim unlock 3 of these. For the record I was then and am still using wcx recovery.

Error when i try to unlock my Moto x

Hi. I have the Moto X xt1058 (AT&T) and I bought the code on 2 different pages. In one them they gave me 2 codes to try and when I tried to put the codes the phone showed an error to unlock the network and then in the other page they gave me the same 2 codes. I've reseted the phone and it keeps showing me the same error when I try to unlock it.
I have android system 4.4.4 stock.

I thought AT&T unlocked phones if you requested it due to that law that was put into effect for global capable phones?
I don't know how to do that process and I have another moto X from AT&T which I unlocked by buying the unlock code on a page.
very often its not working because custom ROM or custom baseband flashed, so please make sure that your phone is completely stock
its completely i updated by OTA to 4.4.4
First, you can try -> https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/?#/ it appears by the conditions that even NON-ATT customers can request the SIM/Carrier unlock code now.
Also, there was discussion about some SIM or Carrier Unlock codes not working on devices with a particular series of IMEI numbers... I don't know the specifics because I don't have an ATT X. See -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/sim-unlock-moto-x-gens-t3011662 and start around Post #21 for more details, and more importantly post #31 of that thread for a possible resolution.
And be careful, I'm not sure how many attempts you get to enter the SIM/Carrier unlock code.
i try here https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/?#/ but dont work cuz said me: "Error: We found no record of the IMEI Number you entered. Check your device's 15-digit IMEI Number by dialing *#06# (errorCode.ULP2003)"
i bought another unlock code on ebay... i will try again

Its worth a try... if you would only take a few minutes to read the discussion, and that post.

That's SIM unlock, not bootloader.
There's no official support from anyone on either side, AT&T or Motorola, for unlocking the bootloader on the XT1058. In fact if you call them and ask, they'll just tell you "no".
Furthermore, even senior developers for the platform like jcase have said that unlocking the bootloader on the XT1058 running KitKat 4.4.4 is more-or-less impossible (at the moment).

Was your subject line ATTN: Donald Hicks - Global Leader Service Operations as stated in that post?
Did HE reply? or someone from Moto support? Did they explain why they can't help?
This:
Hello Starling,
Thank you for contacting Motorola. Unfortunately, as SIM issues are largely carrier-related, the spectrum of assistance we have to offer on the manufacturer's side of things is rather limited. When trying to use the subsidy unlock code to unlock your device, are you trying this with the new SIM card or the old one in your device? You should input the subsidy unlock code with the new SIM card if you have not already done so and try it again. If you have reset the device and you're still experiencing the issue, you will likely need to contact AT&T about this issue and they can look into things more fully on their end. The IMEI of your device shows as valid in our system, so if AT&T is having an issue with it, that would be on their end and you would also need to contact them about that. If you would be more comfortable with it, either a member of our tech support team or myself could reach out to you and make a conference call with AT&T to get this resolved for you as well.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed and I will assist you to the best of my ability.
Thank you for choosing Motorola and have a great day!
Cas

I would take them up on their offer in the final sentence of the first paragraph... To have a member of Moto support reach out to you and make a conference call with AT&T to get this resolved.

Whoops! Sorry about that, I guess my eyes skipped over that bit.
In that case, yeah! You should be able to grab it from AT&T's website or by calling in and asking about it.
I spoke with ATT and Motorola Agent and NOTHING.!
Motorola only help me to contact with ATT and they said me... "We cant help you with that, sorry"

there are following ways to unlock these phones
1. Root phone and unlock with unlocking boxes ( no $$, if you have box)
2. buy the codes from websites online and unlock it. [works 99% of time]
3 ask rogers to unlock it [safest way, but you should not OWE any money to rogers, it costs more money than step 2]
if you go by step 2, then depending on the modem and security version your phone will not accept the 'unlock code' , then you will get stuck with your unlock code and $$$, so to make that code work you have to ROOT phone, but that might break your warranty ( I am not sure about warranty search forums)
so bottom line if you root you dont get OTA update, but you can flash 6.0.1 by ODIN.

I replaced the motherboard and T-mobile unlocking code not working

Hey, after update (1 year ago on Jan) my SM-N910T started to freeze and restarting. So I decided to buy same unit but with broken screen. I replaced the motherboard and since that broken phone wan't unlocked need to unlock it. I asked the previous owner to contact T-Mobile for the unlock code (IMEI was right). He sent me the unlock code that T-mobile has provided him but the phone says it's incorrect. (I did it with non T-mobile simcard)
1. What do you think the web pages that provide sim unlock codes for $$$ would send different one?
2. I Made factory reset data from a prev user with his Samsung account signed. So it was locked on startup. I bypassed reactivation lock may it be the purpose why it says T-mobile unlock code won't work?
3. Is there a way to see how many input unlock code attempts I have?
4. How to check o'm on official firmware? (or since I get T-mobile updates via wi-fi it's official)
any suggestion why this happens?
He had to of given you the wrong code?......if you want to pm me I'll give you info on someone that dose it remotely on you laptop or pc for a lot cheep er then anyone elts...also dose frp unlocking

Pixel 5 from "Google Emploee". Locked for AT&T and bootloader is unlocked?

Pixel 5 from "Google Emploee". Locked for AT&T and bootloader is unlocked?
I bought a pixel 5 from google emploee, who is saying he got it from google.
It has a sticker on the back with barcode and some numbers and a date of 6/26
Problems are:
1. It is locked for AT&T and does not want to unlock via AT&T website (https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/). I got a message from ATT that it is unlocked, but still does not like T-Mobile sim. Any suggestions?
2. It is saying the bootloader is unlocked. Will I have problems with google pay? Can I undo this?
3. How to check this is an actual Pixel 5, not a prototype or something? It says "model Pixel 5" in "About phone"..

I can't speak as to the origin of your phone, buy it from someone else, and you're buying someone else's problems.
Unlocked bootloader and carrier unlocked are two distinctly different things.
Carrier unlocked means that you can use the carrier of your choice. Unlocked bootloader lets you flash images to you phone, from entire monthly security updates to a custom kernel, root, and do other fun things. Google Pay will not work with an unlocked bootloader unless you root the phone and hide that from Google using root-based trickery. (Standard Google Firmware)
The fact that your bootloader is unlocked means that it probably is NOT from AT&T. Why you seem to be carrier locked is a mystery to me, but I will tell you something, AT&T is probably the most evil carrier to deal with. My phone was purchased directly from Google, my first act was to unlock the bootloader, root it, then get the phone up and running with T-Mobile. If you don't want to root your phone, have no need for it, whatever, yes, it is possible to relock the bootloader. Be aware that this will wipe your phone clean, and you'll be starting fresh.
Look in the forums or:
https://developers.google.com/android/images
Google has very comprehensive instructions on how to lock/unlock your bootloader, flash factory images, take OTA's etc..
Be aware that if you aren't sure what you are doing, flashing a factory image can also wipe your phone, and you'll be back to square one if you don't backup your stuff.
There are tons of tutorials on this site on this subject, just poke around...

Thanks.
Weird part is that If I go to system-> updates I see an update from ATT:
"ATT Redfin RD1A.2008..."
So this is not a "pure" google pixel? It has an ATT image? Can I install the genuine pixel 5 image?
You sort of do. If your bootloader is unlocked, and you get yourself decoupled from AT&T, you can grab the latest firmware directly from Google and flast it. There is no difference between the AT&T "model" and the generic Google version in the hardware. I don't know what's AT&T is up to these days but the AT&T versions at least older phones, used to lock down their bootloader and make it impossible to unlock. But if yours is already unlocked you sho6be able to put on Google's firmware and possibly escape from AT&T.

And what about AT&T lock? Once I have official image, the sim lock would be gone? Or do I need just to flash a modem?
