Object in SIM card slot - Sony Xperia XZ2 Questions & Answers

I have an Xperia XZ2 bought a few days ago. So when I want to insert my SIM into the SIM slot after removing the SIM tray, I found an object in the SIM slot (Refer to the image below.) I'm afraid to touch it as I'm afraid I will damage the SIM slot more. Does anyone has the same issue? Should I remove it?

It is very blurry.
I can't see it very well.

Its probarly the rest of the flap what you removed totally, why you removed it ?

One of my old phones (Lumia 820 I think) had a catch inside the sim slot, it was used during disassembly.

Faulty SIM tray on Xperia T

So, just after the first day I got my Xperia T, the SIM tray was broken. I noticed my device having random reboots, then telling me there's no SIM card inserted. It took me some time, but then I noticed that whenever I insert my SIM card and close the tray, it just pops right out again. First I thought that maybe my SIM card was the problem, since I'm using a Nano-SIM with an adapter, so I tried with a regular Micro-SIM instead, but that didn't work either.
Right now my device is in repair and as I can tell from the repair status, they replaced the whole mainboard, which hopefully solved the problem.
Is anyone else having issues like that?
Same here, I had to put several layers of adhesive tape over the microsim to fatten and then lock it into the tray. Nasty, but working.
Same for me, but with 2 layers of post-it, it works.
Bad cut simcard or not perfect adapter is problem. Them simple brake a tray. Then good ones doesn't work either.
Use proper SIM card from first time.
Had the same problem - is it possible to replace only sim tray or is necessary to replace the whole mainboard?

[Q] How many are you having undetected SIM card for XT1068 model?

Since yesterday my phone can't detect both my Sim card. It said no Sim inserted. All the while is working fine. Any solution on this? I'm not using sim adapter. I changed already 2 different Sim card and mostly i only got message new sim card inserted Restart to take effect. But after bit completed it still no Sim detected.
The SIM-slots of the Moto G are a very weak part of the phone, I had problems from the very first day to insert the cards correctly. After a short time the one slot doesn´t snap the card into place anymore, the whole construction is not build precise.
I had a few issues in not detecting the SIM card, after all I sticked a piece of thin plastic (or paper) on the top of the SIM´s to be certain that they stay tight at their places and if I´ve found the exact position everything works. So in my case it was a mechanical problem.

Replace damaged SIM slot

A while ago, my bro had accidentally placed an empty SIM adapter into the SIM slot making it stucked forever. With much frustrations, I forced open the tray, and the SIM slot is damaged (PINs gone). Do anyone have any experience in replacing the damaged SIM slot?
Specifically, my questions are as follow:
1. Where can I buy a replacement SIM slot that is compatible with the device? (parts number?)
2. How do I replace the SIM slot if I have got the right one found? (I have opened up the device back cover but is unsure how to disassemble the SIM slot)
Although my bro have moved on with the latest device, I think G Flex is still pretty good given the power it has internally.
Any help or information would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Dual SIM physically blocked.

Hello All,
I've been looking to add a 2nd SIM to my wife's phone as she'd like to have separate numbers for work/life.
When I opened up the SIM tray I saw that the tray has an empty slot for 1 SIM card and another for SD card. there is a shape of the 2nd SIM slot on the tray, but it isn't fully cut out.
So I went to a few mobile repair shops around my area and was told they can order a tray for us, but it probably won't work as the phone is probably locked in software.
I know the phone isn't carrier locked, since I can switch carriers freely, so what can be the reason some unknown entity went out of their way to lock this phone to a single-SIM only?
And is there a way to unlock the 2nd slot?
Thanks!

Hi
I would take A gable and get a cheap sim tray of the bay and see if it works.
I have 2 sim and Micro SD in mine. If it is software lock i think you could flash A different region software to unlock it. Or It could be blocked as the sim reader only has the pins to read 1 sim card witch could be need hole new sim reader slot.
You could try cut out the plastic blocking the second slot

single sim card tray.

Hi, i was taking my sim card out to send the phone to huawei for an official battery replacement. I lost the tray in the process, i'm struggling to find a single sim card tray for the twilight version. Can anyone confirm for me if the dual sim card tray for the p20 pro would fit in a single sim card one before i pull the trigger? Thanks
