Camera Modes - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Upgraded from an S7 and I noticed two camera modes were missing. Surround Shot, the 360 panorama, and the Dual Camera which takes a rear and front photo together. I have the apks from my S7 but they don't open and they don't appear in list of available camera modes. And suggestions or ports for these, or any alternative camera apps?

And Sport mode.?

They used to be in there but they are not showing up in search results. I'm thinking they're filtered out based on compatibility.

Since the zoom function you are asking for is digital zoom only you could just as well take pictures at the highest resolution (5MP) and then crop them before uploading to the desired "zoom" level. This way you don't lose any quality and have access to the source file later on!
I'm using Camera360, which is free, also has a zoom function (although I do not use it and it does not seem to work, at least at full res settings) and a lot of filters and effects which can be applied during shooting or after!

Camera Zoom FX seems great.
What type of zoom is best for Galaxy Ace, Autodetected, 1, 2, 3 or 4?

It works fine.. Maybe you 've set the flash to off mode ??

Camera. Is it REALLY 10 Megapixel ?

I am very happy with my phone but I don't care for the over simplified camera interface.
I've installed a couple of different ones including Camera JB Plus, the 4.3 camera from the Google edition HTC One Dump, and Camera Zoom FX.
None of these cameras will allow a photo size larger than 5 megapixels.
So what gives?
Camera FV-5 shows 10.5 mp

Thanks. I wonder what's up with 3rd party cameras.

The camera on the X has a native 16:9 sensor. Since the other camera apps were designed for cameras with 4:3 sensors, they probably can't properly access the full size of the X's widescreen photos.

I'm thinking about getting that application. Is better than stock app camera?
It certainly has a lot more options to play around with than the stock camera. It certainly gives you a dslr feel.

[Q] Problems with HDR camera function.

I have taken some photos with the HDR stock camera function and some from an HDR camera app from Google Play.
The photo taken with the stock camera takes a regular photo. The other takes three. There is no high contrast definition (as is even displayed on the selection screen on the N3.
Has anyone else noticed this in their phone?
The HDR camera app takes three images and combines them to get a single image. You can reduce this to single shot in the pro version of the app.
Whereas the stock camera app takes a single shot.

The single shot is not an HDR image. It isn't a composite OR HDR. I think there is a problem.

[App] Moto X Camera [Non Root]

I have recently been using a Moto X Style and enjoyed the camera functions, particularly the touch anywhere on screen to take a shot. I had been searching for a replacement camera on my 6P and found this moded Moto camera.
Please note this is not my work and I am just bringing it to the Nexus 6P communities attention if other users would like to try. All work and credit is thanks to @S0bes. If you use please thanks him in his thread.
This will have working Moto Camera & Gallery. Just go to the source thread HERE, download the 2 apks and install as normal. They will work on unrooted devices.
I haven't fully tested but so far so good for me.
Enjoy

Working great. Thanks!

Your welcome
Awesome!
Can someone share their experience when it comes to the performance of this app vs the stock one?
I really love the new camera but the software/app does seem quite slow especially if you take several HDR photos in a row.
I'd like to know if the Moto X app is any more competent.
Seems faster, if you don't use hdr in Google camera.
But, pictures aren't as good, and are half the size of Google camera.
Stick with Google for best results.
Awesome!!!!
Picture during video
Will this app allow you to take pictures during video?

Yes it does
The comera app installs but the picture is distorted. The gallery app works wonderfully however. It's really a great gallery app!

Same think , distorted image
I get opposite orientation on both the back and front cameras (wide is vertical, vertical is wide), no zoom, and no flash. The Gallery is great, so out goes the Photos app.

I went straight to the camera version that you mentioned and it's working great. Agree with others about the Gallery being very nice!
I had an X Pure for a week and what I miss most is the exposure compensation slider thing. I find the 6P blows out highlights very easily. So if I focus on a dark area to compensate it lightens everything up but in doing so goes overboard and the bright areas are over brightened. It's basically spot metering but doing it to an extreme in my opinion. If the Motorola camera app worked I would be able to dial it down a bit to my liking but it's not available on the version of the camera that works.
