I know this is kind of a weird thing to be on about, but does anyone get a prompt saying "phone unlocked with fingerprint" prompt at the top of your phone? It only happens when I unlock it when not using the phone for a long period of time. Can I disable it?

Do you mean a notification that you have to clear, or like a toast notification? Are you stock or on a custom ROM? When you restart your phone, does it ask for your pin or password the first time? If so does that give you a similar message?

It's a toast notification, I click on it, nothing happens. Totally stock, it never gave me a message when I unlocked with a pin.

Hmm that's strange. I'll play with some settings and see if I can recreate it myself but it's not something I've seen.
Never had this, I exclusively use finger print unlock.

I have the Sprint version, idk if it's an app that's creating it or something with Samsung, I'm running Evie launcher if that matters.
I've seen this every once in a while but i can't recreate it for some reason. Are you talking about the quick toast message that has a white background and says " Phone unlocked with fingerprint" with a lock symbol in it? If so do you happen to use Lockstar from the Goodlock apps?

I doubt it since I'm using a custom launcher. I don't know, I'm trying to recreate this, and I think it only comes up when you don't unlock your phone for sometime.

I have, I just want to know why some people have it and some don't, there's no other information online about it.
Ok now it showed even though I have been unlocking it often, I'm convinced that it is totally random.
I have same issue and pops up randomly.
It's not random for me. Only pops up when I'm using an app while the phone is locked (Maps, phone call, etc).

First of all this isn't a issue. Samsung has probably made this notification to appear, since some have iris and fingerprint set. So if you decide to unlock the phone with iris and you accidentally put your finger on fingerprint on the back. Then this notification appears to inform you, that you unlocked your phone with fingerprint instead of iris. So it's completely normal and nothing you can remove.

Coming over from HandCent (massive battery drain), and only one complaint.
With HandCent, it would unlock my screen even though I had a pattern lock enabled. But with Go SMS Pro, it just turns on the screen and makes the unlock noise, but it does not actually unlock the screen, but rather just show the pattern lock screen.
Help please?!?!

I will, I will. I'm on my phone right now.
Well it did a pop-up, showed the quick text box, and if you started to type, it would let you and then lock your phone back up after.
And if you didn't want to text back, it locked back up in 10 seconds (or whatever you set it to).
You can't exit out of the quick text box without the phone locking back up... really nice actually

I've recently switched to this app as well. must faster and lighter than handcent- but I'm having one issue.
I have it set to unlock the phone when a message comes in. If I receive a popup notification for a message and immediately take my phone out of my pocket, sometimes the screen orientation will change and this will dismiss the popup. the message disappears from my notification tray and everything. has anyone else experienced this?

Just upgraded to Android 4.3 (stock HTC ROM) and there must be a bug because I can no longer disable the lock screen. I'm not talking about the pin/pattern lock screen but the swipe up to unlock lock screen (with the icons in the bottom). If I go to Settings > Security and chose to disable the lock screen it doesn't make any difference.
Can someone else please confirm that this is a bug before I wipe my phone?
Doesn't look like a bug, looks like HTC is being responsible and not allowing a phone to not have any security on it. Makes sense IMO

Well, if there is an option for something that doesn't do anything I consider it a bug. Swipe-to-unlock doesn't add a lot of security imho.

The thing is that the options is there but doesn't do anything. I have my phone 95% of the time on my desk/table next to me and I just find it unnecessary to unlock with a button and then swipe. Whenever I leave home I have it in a tight case so there is no risk on me touching buttons by misstake.

Oh, I see what you meant above now.. But the point is, for a lot of folks the lock screen is pointless. It's just an uneccesary extra step to get to what you want on your phone. Especially now that most phones have pocket detection so there's no worries of pocket dialing anymore. I personally find it annoying and not at all needed. Just one less thing to waste my time and battery.
I guess i can see the usefulness of it though in some situations, I.E. Nosy girlfriend/boyfriend mainly. Lol

I understand what you're saying, and I don't use any sort of security on my phone, but I'd still prefer to have the slide to unlock as opposed to nothing at all. I suppose it's each to their own but IMO HTC have decided to take the option out to possibly cover themselves from unhappy customers - I dunno...
HTC_001 just got the update and now being forced to have a lock screen when it doesn't add any security seems a waste of time, everyone knows how to unlock a phone so it's not going to stop anyone getting in, the choice should be left up to the end user, default it to on and that should cover them enough. Next they'll force everyone to have a pin to unlock their phone.
No Lock app works fine and the fact 1-5mill people have downloaded it shows that they have made a mistake here.
No lock, no thanks
Works awful. Just used it for about 5 minutes and it made my phone behave erratically. Seeing as it hasn't been updated for years, it's no surprise. Good luck with it...couldn't even launch apps from the notifications screen without it loading the home screen, locking it and then turning the screen off. Disabled it and then removed it and all is right again on my phone.
Why not accept peoples wish
No lock works fine - and about the security issues people have here:
I never lock my phone with a pattern, pin, code or something.
If you keep sensitive data on it - your fault. You know that it is public if it is on your phone (as we learned from the NSA).
If you don't, leaving your phone unlocked gives you at least the chance that if you loose it and an honest person finds it, he or she will be able to return it to you by contacting "Mum" or "Sweety" from the Contacts. An unhonest person would simply factory-reset it. Right?

You obviously don't program. And it's great that it works for you, however it is apparent from the thread and the comments in the play store that the app has issues. The app certainly doesn't work for me on multiple devices. So I could certainly ask for more, seeing that it simply doesn't work reliably at all in my testing. But since it looks to be abandoned it's not something I expect. That's not a big deal for me at all because it's an app I simply tried but not one I plan on using.

It's definitely the lock screen causing this. If (like me) you turned off the lock screen completely, the sms notifications failed to show on the watch.

It is indeed. This is really annoying. I don't like to use a lockscreen, but I want texts to relay to the watch. What's the root cause? Is the lockscreen widget actually relaying the messages? Is it a bug? Would really like a fix that doesn't require me to lock the screen.

It is caused by Outlook Security which is useless but comes on the stock AT&T ROM. Just go into the App manager and stop it, and you should not get the warning anymore. For some dumb reason that program does not like stock apps. You would think they would have tested this more before they put it in the ROM. Oh yeah that's right, that's what we are for.

My guess would be a Gremlin in the system, it happens on all mobiles. Either that or when you changed mobiles you used your old mobile to copy from or the cloud in which case sometimes things do go wrong.
I was told years ago to always start a fresh with each new mobile. I don't I use Samsung sync but there is ALWAYS some sort of minor **** up and its never perfect. :crying:
Like I wrote sometimes its just down to an odd behaviour...Gremlins as I call it.
I hope you got it sorted?

My guess would be a Gremlin in the system, it happens on all mobiles. Either that or when you changed mobiles you used your old mobile to copy from or the cloud in which case sometimes things do go wrong.
I was told years ago to always start a fresh with each new mobile. I don't I use Samsung sync but there is ALWAYS some sort of minor **** up and its never perfect. :crying:
Like I wrote sometimes its just down to an odd behaviour...Gremlins as I call it.
I hope you got it sorted?
