I'm in the us, and have been using the customized German firmware. I am not on T-Mobile, but have been flashing the us oem file to gave group txts in Google messages. I didn't have/notice any problems until a few months ago when Google pay stopped working in stores. I have since fixed it by not flashing the us oem and using alternative txt apps.
My question is are there other firmwares that also allow group txts by default? I'd like to use Google messages without flashing the us oem. I also really like how clean the German firmware is and how it's usually first in line for updates.

hey guy,
i got my nexus before a week and i have some question about it...
1. i have the original rom and i wonna stay with it. i downloaded the Trackball Alert, and when i open it i got the message: "warning compatible rom not detected", and the app is not working. is there something to fix this app without changing the rom?
2. on my contacts i have my facebook friends and my gmail contacts. i accidentally hide some friends from fb. how could i recover them, without delete and add again the account (it took me too much time to join 860 contacts)
3. im from israel and i would like to know how could i add israel as a local. i understood there was app called "localmore" or something, but its not exist on the market. is anyone know how could i add israel to the local list, i understood Cyanogen fix this problem, but i prefer not changing my rom.
thanks everyone!
The answer to #1 is simple.
You need to be rooted to utilize that, if I'm not mistaken. (The good part is that'll just give you a reason to use the goodies from the different customer ROMs out there)
One item to note: In the Trackball Alert download, it specifies that you NEED a custom ROM. Now, I can't say for sure if this would work on a Stock ROM, while rooted... But I don't very well see the point of sticking to stock if you've already rooted anyway.
You'll just have to wait for Google to implement colors in an OTA update.
2) Go to Settings -> Accounts and sync -> Add your fb account if it's not there anymore, or if it is check sync is enabled.
3) Once you've rooted and changed your ROM the only thing you'll regret is not doing it sooner.
Hey guys, today i tried to open bloat freezer, and i got the message that needs update, when i clicked to update, i got the message that is not available at the market.
I checked market via pc and i found it, but its not available anymore for me for installation
(although i have already bought it). So im wondering is it closed for me or for any P990 users ?
any1 have experinced the same ?
Just checked as I have it installed as well. I can't see any issues with it but I have it set to auto update.
Still seems to be appearing the the market.
I had the same issue and by installing another rom it disappeared but don't ask me why because it came back on another rom. I think it was on the mdc rom's
so try to install another rom.
Deinstalling the app won't work i already tried that several times
Bloat has been blocked from the market. Dont know why, but there seems like the app is doing something Google isn't happy about, as they have blocked/removed bloatfreezer two times now...I have been in contact with them, and got the following response. I decided to but MyBackupPro instead, as it gives the same possibilities and alot of other functionality as well
If you are an old customer that is having problems upgrading to the
latest version, instructions are below, please continue reading. If
you are a new customer with another issue, you can ignore this email
and I will respond to your email as soon as I can.
As you have probably noticed, Google removed the original Bloat
Freezer from the market for a stupid error in the app's description.
This makes it impossible for you to upgrade normally to the latest
version. There is nothing that we could have done to prevent this, and
Google refuses to reinstate the original app after we fixed the error.
We apologize greatly for the inconvenience and want you to know that
we love our customers and want to make this as easy as possible for
you no matter how hard Google tries to make it!!!
Below are instructions to get us the info I need to transition your
purchase from the old version to the new:
1. Go ahead and purchase the new version that is in the market.
2. Go to checkout.google.com and find BOTH the original order number
and the new order number and email both of these to us.
3. We will then refund your purchase for the original order ASAP.
4. You can then continue using the new version and get updates as
normal forever.
Once again, we apologize greatly for this inconvenience and are doing
this the best way possible. We hope that you will help us get back to
our 4.7 star rating by leaving a rating AND a comment in the market so
that others know that the new Bloat Freezer works just as great as the
old.
Thank you for understanding and sticking with us through this speed
bump that Google threw our way, we appreciate each and every one of
our customers and will be doing lots of manual labor to get all of
these orders transfered.

how do you download the new version (as per that email)?
There is no new version. it doesn't exist on the market
Another reason not to pay for apps thanks to google
My phone: Huawei P8Lite originally Single-Sim, but converted to dual-sim long time ago.
I just got the unpleasant surprise to not be able to fully use my SIM after upgrading to Nougat custom ROMs (tried AOSPA and LineageOS 14.1). None allowed to directly view or save new contacts on SIM, although I could import already existing contacts from SIM.
Is there any better Dialer/Contacts app around that can replace the rather crippled default app?
EDIT
Issue seems to be deeper and nastier than thought... it seems that "some people" - those which decide how Android should be, decided that we don't need anymore to save contacts locally, but rather Google should know about each and every one of us... which I start to dislike more and more:
https://android.stackexchange.com/q...i-save-new-contacts-to-my-phone-or-sim#154936
Even if this is a "feature" introduced in latest Android versions, is still confusing how some ROMs allow saving on Phone (others don't unless google account is removed), but none allow to save on sim.
This is not a tutorial, just a technical note. I have been able to restore my unlocked T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro (model GM1915) that was firmware build GM31CB, with the GM21AA for models GM1911 and GM 1917. YMMV.
I have not experienced any issues with LTE or wifi calling, or text messages. I immediately received and successfully installed an OTA. The only difference I've seen so far is the wifi-calling icon now says "V♂WIFI" (still works though) and default ring tone.
Before you ask why didn't I just use the MSMTool to install the international version.... Some may find themselves in my predicament, where they are Linux or Mac users and the MSMTool.exe is for Windows. I tried a Windows VM but was only partially successful. The T-Mobile download links I found were broken and GM21AA is easily found.
Follow up: I've figured out that the male symbol is actually "oiP" to spell VoiP. Another note is that swiping from edge left to center used to bring up curated news, a feature I liked, but now it brings up a tray with widgets like a parking tool. I'm starting to think that the tiny differences I'm noticing are differences in the updates because T-Mob was behind on the releases. Also, I neglected before to mention that the ROM was installed via TWRP.

You can get that back by installing Nova launcher and the Google companion app. The international version is leaps and bounds better than the hack job TMo did. For being optimized for Tmos network I have way better performance on the international version. MMS messages wouldn't always download, sms would hang. On the international version everything just works. You think it would be the other way

Hello,
I just bought a Galaxy S10 UAE version and was reading around about what is different in this version and if its usable outside UAE. (i don't tend to create posts until I've done a good enough research)
So what i found is that there is no real different between UAE version and other versions, meaning phone will still work outside of UAE and there is no "restrictions" unlike the iphone which is missing the facetime app.
Please correct me if I'm wrong in the above.
My main concern is the forced calendar holidays and similar unwanted apps, therefor i would like to change the OS to a different region.
My questions:
-Which OS should i get from SamMobile and does that mean i have to flash my device?
-In case this was done, will i still receive OTA updates?
Thank you
