Samsung Galaxy S10 (UAE Version) Region Change - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I just bought a Galaxy S10 UAE version and was reading around about what is different in this version and if its usable outside UAE. (i don't tend to create posts until I've done a good enough research)
So what i found is that there is no real different between UAE version and other versions, meaning phone will still work outside of UAE and there is no "restrictions" unlike the iphone which is missing the facetime app.
Please correct me if I'm wrong in the above.
My main concern is the forced calendar holidays and similar unwanted apps, therefor i would like to change the OS to a different region.
My questions:
-Which OS should i get from SamMobile and does that mean i have to flash my device?
-In case this was done, will i still receive OTA updates?
Thank you

Samsung Dive - The function is not supported for your area.

I'd like to be able to use Samsung Dive's remote tracking/lock/wipe functionality.
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Tab that I got in Dubai running 2.3.3 firmware and XSG region and using it in New Zealand (with a Vodafone New Zealand sim). When I try to use the remote tracking/lock features, I get a message saying "The function is not supported for your area.". Which area are they talking about, New Zealand, Dubai or perhaps just it doesn't work with Galaxy Tabs.
My wife has a Galaxy S2 that we just bought last week in New Zealand (but I have a feeling was parallel imported from Germany as on startup everything was german). When I set up remote tracking on mobile, I'm able to use the samsung dive website no problems.
I've tried deleting and recreating my account, and also linking my tab to my wife's Sumsung account. No progress, still get the same error message.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this working?

Try setting your locale to UK or US, seems there are functions available only for these regions...
Go for Avast security
Forget about Samsung Dive!!!
Go for Avast security. It has a lot of features like Remote lock,Wipe,.....etc.
If ur Tab is rooted,it even can survive Hard/Factory reset.
Best part is IT IS FREE.
I am in the UK and Samsung DIVE works perfectly for my Tab 10.1 but not for my Galaxy S. When I try to use Dive for the Galaxy S I am also getting the message "The function is not supported for your area." My locale is set to UK.
If anyone has any solutions other than "forget about Samsung dive!!! Go for Avast security" please post.
Thanks in advance.
ive just set this up and all works ok but now i have a big problem what i did was basically set it up so it can text you when sim has been changed and also to do some remote dat wiping amongst other function however i now want to turn these features off but ive messed up and you know what ive done right ?......yep ive forgottent the password ive tried everything but i just cant remember it !!!
can anyone help ? security>find my mobile>sim change alert> FORGOT PASSWORD!!!

Software update for Note available?

According to Engadget and a few other sources there is an update available for the note:
http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/22/refresh-roundup/
Samsung Galaxy Note: A small update, it adds new features and enhancements to the Note, such as a number row on its stock Android keyboard, "one hand operation" mode which shrinks the keyboard and dialpad for better one-handed access, optimized screen brightness and a new torch widget on the home screen.
But when I try to update the phone it says no update available. It was not bought through a network so should be unlocked and I am based in the UK. Any suggestions on how to get the update?
Thats the last LA4 Update release from Samsung, but its not released worldwide, you can download it from the below link and update via Odin.

"This Update in not directly Rootable"
No updates for mine as yet
Hi
Along with quite a few other Note owners in the UK, mine is still stick on 2.3.5, XXKJ4. I got mine from Hantec back in November. It was an EU version (Poland perhaps?).
I'll give it a few more weeks before I root it and side-step the official update sequence. 2.3.6 us supposed to fix the Android OS battery drain issue.

Hmmmm maybe I will just wait for ICS, the improvements to one handed operation would be really handy though (sorry for the bad pun!).

Possible alternative to OP7P T-Mobile stock ROM

This is not a tutorial, just a technical note. I have been able to restore my unlocked T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro (model GM1915) that was firmware build GM31CB, with the GM21AA for models GM1911 and GM 1917. YMMV.
I have not experienced any issues with LTE or wifi calling, or text messages. I immediately received and successfully installed an OTA. The only difference I've seen so far is the wifi-calling icon now says "V♂WIFI" (still works though) and default ring tone.
Before you ask why didn't I just use the MSMTool to install the international version.... Some may find themselves in my predicament, where they are Linux or Mac users and the MSMTool.exe is for Windows. I tried a Windows VM but was only partially successful. The T-Mobile download links I found were broken and GM21AA is easily found.
Follow up: I've figured out that the male symbol is actually "oiP" to spell VoiP. Another note is that swiping from edge left to center used to bring up curated news, a feature I liked, but now it brings up a tray with widgets like a parking tool. I'm starting to think that the tiny differences I'm noticing are differences in the updates because T-Mob was behind on the releases. Also, I neglected before to mention that the ROM was installed via TWRP.

You can get that back by installing Nova launcher and the Google companion app. The international version is leaps and bounds better than the hack job TMo did. For being optimized for Tmos network I have way better performance on the international version. MMS messages wouldn't always download, sms would hang. On the international version everything just works. You think it would be the other way

GW3 Region Change

I bought the GW3 watch yesterday. Unfortunately I live in Gibraltar which for some unknown reason is considered the backwater of the internet and we are blocked by both Google and Samsung - Google does not let us buy anything from Google Play, although we have found a way around that. Samsung goes a step further and we cannot even browse their store
My question is: I've seen videos on how to change the Active 2 region and I'm wondering if there is a procedure for GW3?
Until I change the region I will not be able to get any apps installed other than the ones preinstalled in the watch. BTW I also tried the SDB connect and I cannot connect to the watch even changing the port number...

I was able to connect to the watch and run the launch csc manager code but after the message lunch successful nothing pops up on the watch.
restart the watch and the PC
and try to connect.
But it looks like that the security increased in tizen 5 and the csc pop up doesn't work.

This popped up on my YouTube recommendations today. How to change regions on the GW3

Note, I haven't tried this to confirm it works. That will probably be a tomorrow project
Ironrobi it works excellent. I changed my region yesterday and everything works perfectly.

Can you describe me how to do it exactly, because everything is accelerated at the branch. And if I change to the USA, or XAR, will I have a choice of my language, i.e. Polish, in the watch?
XAR code is for USA and yes if you change it you can switch the language to polish you just have to download it.

But the menu will also be in Poland?
The menu of the watch copies the language from the phone. If you go to your phone's settings -> system -> languages and input -> languages -> add/change to Polish. That should change the language on your watch as well. That works for me if I changed the language to Slovenian. Than everything on the watch is in Slovenian.

I can also confirm it works. Changed region to XAR, got the software update and blood oxygen/stress are now loaded on the watch. Unfortunately still no BP/ECG and trying to sideload through the PC still fails and no luck trying to do the non-pc method with a Huawei phone.
Will this method of changing CSC to Tizen 5.5.0.1 work?
Please note that in order to actually use Samsung Pay, you'll need to have a credit card that supports it / is supported by it. This goes back to your credit card provider supporting Samsung Pay or not. If not, you'll get stuck when Samsung Pay checks the support after entering your credit card number in Samsung Pay.
Also wondering this: Will it also work when the watch is already on BTG6? Anybody tried?

Check out the curve card. It is the card from the UK and you link your MasterCard or Visa to it.
It works with Samsung pay.
If you use the link below you will get £5 on your card.

I managed to get the BP/ECG to work from the instructions for active 2 from TechnoProz.
Just install the first and the second file, and the Samsung Health monitor will appear on your watch. Calibrate the BP and your good to go...

Question Has anyone been able to change CSC code to enable native call recording on A33?

I just purchased this samsung phone after ages (been using xiaomi and other phones) but unfortunately it does not offer call recording in my country. Can anyone please share if they were able to change the CSC code to one with working call recording (indian csc maybe I have seen some indian youtubers mentioning how to enable call recording) .....also please guide me how exactly do you change the csc code on this phone any tutorial would be very helpful thanks.
Quick Update: I was able to enable call recording by changing my CSC through sam fw tool there is a catch tho, as soon as I change my csc to anything non-native the galaxy store starts spamming "get recommended apps from your provider" ads after every few minutes and there is no way to block notifications from galaxy store (the option to disable notifications is greyed out) so I had to revert back.
How about completely disabling the galaxy store then?
Do some people actually use that bloatware for real? That was like the first thing I debloated
Here you can read how I enabled native call recording feature on my Samsung device
Should work on most modern day Samsung devices out there
Enjoy

Galaxy Store is required because samsung apps (camera, themes, keyboard, cloud backup etc) are not available in play store they update via galaxy store disabling galaxy store would make sense only on a custom rom which unfortunately isnt available for my device A33 and I am not rooted either. I came back to samsung after many years on ios, miui and other UI and I am baffled by how polished One UI has become I can never go back to MIUI (it was a torture with all its bugs that never get fixed) or any other User interface.....I can literally customize anything from icons, font, system wide theming to even the statusbar icons (using good lock app) back in the days we had to use xposed modules to modify statusbar icons. Lack of native call recording is my only gripe with ONE UI at the moment.
Hi my default region is dubai. For call recording option i changed my fw to indian fw. Actually i got the call recording option. Similarly im having good battery life better than before. Only catch was samsung pay replace for Samsung pay mini. I think its better to switch full fw than only cse
So is it possible to change csc in a33 using samfw? to enable call recording?
Yes,
Have you not read the other posts?
I was due a replacement phone - so I decided on the A33 5G (sim free, untouched by any network provider)
.
Bought it direct from the Samsung Store online, paid £319.99 - £10 cheaper than most other stores online, i didnt want a contract, didnt want finance, just went hassle free and paid for it outright and it was direct from manufacturer.
I would usually require the most powerfull device available with the most freedom. and least restrictions, lets say a feature packed, flagship for a power user.
Well... my needs have changed and wow, for a mid entry device - the A33 is awesome.
BUT NO Native call recording in the UK.
-----------------------------------------------
I am 100% capable and confident with reprogramming the device if needed, I was a phone technician back in the day, the Beginning of Android changed the game for me and killed any future progression in my career.
Anyhow, can anyone advise - what other features are restriction by laws, location etc etc.
Is there any tools that can scan the firmware, or list all CSCs with their geolocated features etc.
kind regards,
Dan
