Hi there guys, I know everybody hates these kind of questions, but... do you have battery life problems on this thing? I got it 3 days ago and the battery life is much worse than my old S8+
I am a heavy user but the battery is draining even on idle. I do not use always-on display or location services, and there are no rogue apps... but it simply drains. According to reviews everywhere it should last as long as in a P20 Pro, but actually it lasts half of that.
Model: SM-N960F
reboot it a few times in the next few days

It seems like this is doing the trick. It lasts longer step by step.
Thanksss man!

I am only getting around 3 hours and 15 minutes of screen on time. What are you getting? The reviews usually pointed towards 5 hours plus....
I didn't test it but you might clear the Google Play Services cache and reboot your P10.
EMUI seems to have some problems with this Service on some devices which can cause a huge battery draw. I can't relate it to my VTR-L09 but maybe this helps.
3h15m is really bad to be honest! how is the standby drain overnight?

i sleep for about 7 hours and im losing 5% overnight
I slept for 5hours+ and i lost 2-3%. my previous P9 lost about 1-2% after 6-7 hours. really miss the old days using xperia Z2. 8hours of nice sleep, and only 1-1.5% battery lost...haha
Whats wrong with mine? I'm loosing 2% battery per hour.
Some application is hungry.

Now I'm starting to hesitate buying the p10 or plus. I have the Z3 and I'm really spoiled by its battery performance.
No screen shot but I had 6hr 10m with approximately 15% charge remaining during the last charge. However none of that time was playing games or watching video.
In the last 2 weeks there are many reports of battery drain on p10 and mate 9. Battery drain started suddenly, with google account manager and play services eating battery like crazy. I uninstalled ALL apps and still it didn't help. I'll try factory reset and report back.

Factory reset has no effect. Battery drains even without any updates and apps installed. Power saving mode has no effect either. Batery is draining steadily with 2-3% per hour.
To anyone interested: it's wifi that drains too much battery. Battery drains 2 or 3 times faster when wifi is enabled. In addition, when wifi enabled, phone is waking up from sleep all the time.
I'm getting around 4 hours to 5 hours OST Is that ok? Is my phone faulty?

Weird, I am getting pretty good SOT with my Mate 9, thankfully.
Last charge was 16 hours and 5 SOT and had 30% left.
Currently at 12 hours and 4 hours SOT and 45% left. Don't think it will be as good as last charge, but close.

Interesting. I currently have a Z5 which the battery life isn't the best - I won't get a full day out of it. And I'm debating between the Mate 9 or the P10. The Mate 9 does have a larger battery than the P10, but is there a noticeable difference in battery life on the Mate 9 over the P10?
Mine has only 2.5h SoT (((
My P10 has a SOT of about 5.5 hours, but I am a light user: no Facebook, heavy games or YouTube.
Stupid question alert....where do you find SoT in EMUI? I can't for thew life of me find it in the normal battery management.
I use the GSam Battery app for this, but there are more who can do the same.
Guys, I just receive my Note8, and found battery completely dead out of the box, I never see this before.
However first day of use 15 hour with 4.5 SOT, Please advice.
Thanks

Since they test these batteries extensively I wouldn't be surprised if yours was accidentally left on. If you are truly worried and have a Samsung Experience store near by I would take it in and they can run a full diagnostics on it.

Maybe it just fell below the threshold for the battery, a long charge maybe all it needs.
Samsung store says that this is pretty normal and could happen, but a search for a similar problem in google, I found many reply suspect a battery problem if recieved dead out of the box.
I had a friend on some carrier I can't remember who note was dead also. I was surprised. But there was a SIM card already in it.
Ok, before the end of 14 days period, what's your recommendations to ensure that the battery is normal and does not suffer from abnormal self draining or other faults.
In mass production there's a chance not every phone is charged after testing. If you charged it and wi road fine. Ttbe the battery is fine

Use it and see whay the battery life is for you.
4.5 SOT and 15 hrs is pretty typical. You're fine.
If you have access to a Samsung Experience store, take it in and have them test the phone. That'll let you know if there's anything wrong with it.
The second charge give me 1 day usage and SOT 5h 40m, at night battery drain is 1% every hour, I think the battery is normal, Thanks for your support.
So, it's been 2 weeks since I got my p20 pro and I'm really loving it.. It's good looking, fast, the camera is awesome.
But I've one issue, well, I'm not really sure it's an issue, but here it is;
The first two days of using the phone the battery was PHENOMENAL.. With SOT of 4.5 hours with 50% of the charge still remaining (4G and GPS on, streaming videos and music.. Photographing, etc) .
But after that it took a hit.. Now I get 3 to 3.5 hours with 50% of charge (battery saving mode on) .. And I don't know what happened exactly.. Is it something I'm doing? Is my charging habit wrong? I'm charging it once a day and I wait until it gets under 10% then charging it to 100%. Is that wrong? Is it a hardware issue that requires me to replace the phone.. Is it software? I don't know.. Here are screenshots for the two cases.. Please help.. Thanks in advance

Hi!
Follow the below steps.
Phone manager>Do optimise>tap on battery icon>Optimise battery usage. And dont let any apps to run in background. Using auto start manager you can control the apps which are running in the background.
and please post the battery usage details and check which app is consuming more battery & kill the apps which are consuming more battery.
Hopefully it would help.
I was getting 7.30-8 hours sot in first 2 weeks. But now i can get 6 hours top. I heard this from a lot of people. I dont know why this is happening but probably it s about AI.

Hello, I'm a new user on xda (but actually a longtime reader). I finally decided to upgrade to Nougat with OTA updates. My device works perfectly fine, except for the battery. I have another android running rooted stock Motorola nougat with similar apps and usage and able to survive until midnight with 15% battery left on on medium use, while my Note 5 can't even survive half a day on light usage.
In battery usage stats, most battery use percentage is the screen, followed by device idle. I don't use LTE with hope it can help, and using 720p resolution to see wether it can also help. The screen on time lies around 3-4 hours but the standby drain is very annoying.
My device has never been rooted. I'm considering flashing a rom if it can help the battery issue, but I use the S-pen a lot and don't want to lose its functionallity by using a rom without the S-pen apps. Right now I'm considering flashing a ported version of Note FE rom by RadeonMaya. Is it good for these purpose?
Any idea on what to do?
The Note5 is over 3 years old, don't expect good battery life. Even when new it was bad. 3-4 hours of Screen time is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I only get 2 max.

Thanks. Perhaps i'll consider buying a battery case or something.
Get the battery replaced. I did mine myself and it's like a new phone again
My Pixel 5 started with 98% battery health (according to Accubattery) and three days later had dropped to 95% and now it's on 93% and the phone is less than a month old. I'm dubious about the readings, although I'm not really getting quite the stellar battery life that some others are reporting. Is there another way to check my battery health, or should I try to put it out of my mind and just stop worrying about it? Thanks, in advance!

Is your Pixel 5 suffering from battery drain? Here's what to do about it
The Pixel 5 and its larger battery are suffering from severe drain issues. Google has issued a fix, but there are more steps to try.
www.androidauthority.com
flashing the factory image without -w
helped clear up the battery issues I was facing.
May be worth trying. Just make sure to remove the -w as to not wipe your data.
