So, im still waiting for Note 2 but in the meantime im considering the original Note as an option.
Some questions:
1.CAMERA: In the last version of the Note (4.0.4), whats the state with the front facing camera. I read things that it cant record 720p and from GB to ICS the camera is software reduced to 1.2 MPx .
2.USB: Whats the state with USB storage on ICS is it MTP or normal USB storage. How usable internal space does it have (16GB-1GB apps -?Touchwiz?) . Does it support wireless or wired mouse and keyboard. Can it read NTFS filesystem on ext SDcard or UBS flash and HDD.
3.MEDIA: Does it have FM radio and NFC. Whats the maximum bitrate that can play. I guess it can play FullHD Multichannel mkv file over HDMI..
Thanx in advance!

1- no the camera remains as it is, and no change in any thing related to front or back cam.
2-you can choose between normal mass storage or MTB ,and you have 11gb as your internal SD. Card and about 2gb for your installed apps, and yes it have full support for USB otg and wireless keyboard and mouse, and can read ntfs.
3-yes it have FM radio, but no NFC, and I think it can play full HD over HDMI, but don't know about bit rate

Today i tried S II and Note on GingerB and both cant record 720p with the front cameras.
They are 2MPx but cant record HD video WT*.
Just just shows 640x480 video option greyed out.
Is this fixed on ICS?

NO it is the same even on ICS 4.0.4.
I'm not sure what your goals are though, but why would you want to record 720p on the front camera? and not on the main one? Yes the 640x480 option is greyed out because that is the only allowable limit for a 2 MP front cam. the main cam can record up to 1080p one. But not the front cam. Why? again for pete's sake it's just a 2 megapixel one and nobody I think, would want to record a video using the front camera(unless of course he is vain enough to record himself all the time), most people record a video thru the back /main one.. not the front cam.
Again, you can't expect to record HD video on the 2MP front facing cam(self portrait) due to it's camera hardware limitation(just 2mp), perhaps you need to reconsider just using the main cam for that.

if your main factor in buying a phone is the front camera to record 720p/1080p... then sorry to burst your bubble..but perhaps the Note is not for you at all.
You may need to check the other threads as well (Gnex and SIII), perhaps that is where you'll find all your answers to... (don't forget to also consider the Nokia Pureview 808, if you really desire to look for an all around camera phone.

Huh, no thank did you played with the 808 the UI is ... disaster ..
My point is that since its 2PMx i should have 720p capabilities..
I dont need empty words, is it hardware or software problem?

it's NOT EVEN a problem at all. It is just the way how Samsung developed their front end cameras on the Note. It has a 2MP cam which only supports 640x480 res. You can't get any higher than that. It is a limitation on the Note's camera itself. And I bet that is how Samsung design it that way on the Note.
Seriously, if you have more qualms than looking at the bigger picture of getting the Note(big screen wow factor), then perhaps (again let me say it), the NOTE isn't for you at all.

Does the Note support this feature? I remember I had it on my HTC desire z and I didnt imagine that Note wouldnt support it. If the hardware is ok, then what camera app should I use? I have tried a few but none worked. It is very annoying not to be able to focus during video shooting. Will I always be stuck with blurry, OOF videos? Touch-to-focus works ok when taking pictures.
Nobody knows? Is it such a big mistery? Nobody around here achieved to do that?

For the N6? Manual Camera! Lovin this app! It's still a work in progress, but it is a very cool app.

I switched from Manual camera to Camera FV-5, which also uses the new APIs (so it can output DNG). It is a lot more polished and stable than Manual Camera.

It seems you have missed the idea of the app. It's called MANUAL CAMERA!
You don't change "quality" settings. You don't have HDR mode. Those are AUTOMATIC modes. This is a MANUAL application that allows you to adjust MANUAL settings like ISO, Shutter Speed, Over/Under exposure, white balance, etc. If you want all the "programmed" or "automatic" settings that come in the camera app, then use the camera app!
And if your shutter rate is slow, it's because you have a SLOW SHUTTER SPEED selected!!!!
Complaining about an app that is doing what it's supposed to do, is epitome if stupidity!
ARGH!!!!!!!

The app works perfectly fine on my Nexus 6 and I really like the manual options. Too bad it's not possible to edit the raw images on the phone yet.
And the low fps isn't a problem on a phone for me because the auto focus isn't that fast anyway.
A timer for timelapse photos could be a nice feature.

core issues with N6 video before slo-mo can happen

My sense is there are some very serious issue preventing slo-mo. That is, slo-mo you want to share because it would be close to garbage as it stands.
I shoot video frequently and was very unhappy when I got my N6.
- signal to noise (S/N) is not good on this device at this stage of the game. It simply is noisy, and it is correctable in software. Until then, slo-mo will be very nasty if anyone is brave enough to try to encode it.
- exposure compensation in video mode is poor - if you shoot a video of a person sitting in front of a blank wall (or a sky) and slowly pan up and down - you can see the exposure compensation "clicking" in stairstep manner as the device adjusts to brightness changes. It needs to be silky smooth or video looks like crap. It can be corrected in software.
- you can workaround the exposure issue by using a third party app which locks exposure compensation - but shooting video with locked exposure compensation is not a good solution.
my opinions.
@warriorpluto I couldn't agree more...I was hoping that there be at least a working port of maybe lenovo, sense 6 camera,z2 or z3 camera...maybe when more devices get lollipop well be able to enjoy the nexus camera...but I suppose for now the google camera shall do for now lol smh

Manual Camera just came out a few weeks ago, but it's by far been the best for me (a camera junkie).
It's best used if you're used to the settings on a DSLR, but has an awesome auto setting and the fastest auto-focus i've seen yet on the N6.
So is the best camera app "Camera FV-5" with Cinema FV-5?
Just cleaned up in here. You guys can take the political debate to a different forum, please. I have absolutely no idea why this subject got brought up in camera thread (actually I do, but I'll deal with the certain member(s))......on a development site.
No need to discuss what I just cleaned in here. Please keep it on topic.

There are lot of versions of pixel camera port out there. Which one is best for Mi Mix?
I am using several of the most recent, and one older.

If they have different names as apps, I am not up to date on exactly what must differ.
I have all 3 of these I listed installed at the same time now, they each got their own icon, and don't seem to interfer with each other, the system treats them as different apps.

The oldest one I recall could work with 120fps slow motion, but it was not good with other things, have recently deleted it.
The newer ones do not work for slow motion.
For slow motion you could try Open Camera, I recall it working ok.
There's a new one where UHD 4K video seems to work at 60 fps.
GCam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.4.032219.1950.apk
It has been a little kinky to get HDR photos to work, however, and slow motion still does not work.
Open Camera has been best for videos otherwise, Gcam best for photos, especially low light.

Right now I have:
Gcam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.7.190716.1800.apk
And another one in which Google Lens works, Ithink this one:
MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova-based_v.1.4a_TlnNeun.apk
Neither work perfectly in all aspects, and they do crash now and then.
I also use Open Camera, it sometimes works better than the Gcams, and never crashes.
But now I have a new Asus Z6 as my primary phone, so don't take pictures with the Mix1 so much now.
The Z6 perhaps does not take better pictures, but the camera apps do not crash snd the HDR processing is much faster, no waiting.

Just use the GCam version for S10e, S10, and S10+. I’ve even used GCam for Note 9 on my Snapdragon 5G on trip to Japan.
I don't have the phone yet and that's why I'm asking in advance. I am not too much a fan of Samsung's heavy handed noise reduction at all ISO levels, so that's why I'm looking for an alternative
Also the answer doesn't addrsss my question regarding if GCAM uses all cameras or if it crops from the normal to make a telephoto view, for instance.
