The moment I see "wish.com", I stopped reading. Very few would be willing to try those cheap screen protectors on expensive phones
Get something with warranty. Those prices are too good to be true. Drop your phone with that screen protector, and you will see why.

Same here! If you're going to buy a thousand dollar phone don't be cheap with the protection or you'll wish you didn't! White stone dome may be expensive but they have a warranty and it's definitely worth the money! If it saves your screen just once then it's already paid for itself in full!!

I had bought some UV glass screen protectors from AliExpress, which is THE best choice for guaranteed products and honest reviews. Do not ever use Wish again. The first batch arrived broken, but that's ok knowing how customs manage packages here in my country. Anyway, I've placed it on top of the phone and it matched perfectly the Whitestone dome. It also has an oleophobic coating, and makes your phone not only look new but also feel like a brand new device, just like the Whitestone. The difference? Well, the price. For $15 or even lower, you can get TWO screen protectors and two UV glue bottles, with a small, three-led UV light that I didn't used since I had the one that came with my Whitestone Dome. And no, I didn't installed a broken glass on top of my phone. I've asked for a refund that I got 5 days later and bought two more from another seller, just in case. The package was exactly the same, so I wouldn't be surprised that every glass comes out of the same factory, even WSD ones. This time they were in mint condition. I'm rocking one now, and it feels fantastic. Keep in mind that the Oleophobic coating does wear off quite quickly. I'm not noticing any kind of wear in my off-brand glass, but I did notice it with my Whitestone. Idk, maybe the copycats are better quality?

I bought a Whitestone sp and after a few days it started to peal from the edges, i tried to take it of to reinstall it but it cracked. I don't have a warranty because I bought it from a local seller. I don't have an extra 50 bucks so I bought a cheap UV liquid sp. So far so good. The glass is 95 % the quality of Whitestone in my opinion, the glue i think is a little harder than Whitestone after the installation. The installation process is easy if you are careful. Definitely value for money.

Piel Frama Leather Cases

I haven't seen any mention of these yet, looks like they should be shipping in a few days (ETA 9/15). Expensive, but I really like the 593 series and they come in a variety of colors (orange!) with real leather. Pretty limited in the angles you can use for viewing though, it doesn't look like there's a way to stop the cover from opening further on a slick surface. If anyone gets one, I'd love to here some impressions.

Wow, a case that starts off at 99 bux. Thats about 40% the cost of the 8gb tablet. I would have a hard time justifying this cost to my wife lol.
I do love their cases. I have seen them around ever since the Handspring Treo days :silly:.

Hah! I haven't thought about my old Treo in years! Used to have a love/hate relationship with that thing back in the day.
I agree, $100 is pretty steep but people are paying that for some of the Portenzo cases, I'd like to see a review before plunking down that much for a case though. Hope it's one of those "you get what you pay for" situations. They seem to be held in pretty high regard for some other devices.
I actually came across my Sony Clie NX70 PDA . Still had the Vaja iVolution case in black. That case was a pretty penny as well being it Argentinian leather lol.
The Clie still looks brand new! LOL I remember finally being able to play Spaceballs on the Clie back in the days :silly:

Piel frama cases are well made and are real animal leather so they are very expensive. Some of their designs are bulky though. Personally, I can't justify their cost.

Speaking of treo, I waited for the perfect Treo but it never happened. I hope they revive it without a poking antenna and put windows 8 on it. I love the hardware.

Agree. I've had a Piel Frama case on a few devices in the past. Well made, but bulky and not that cheap. These days I prefer something unobtrusive and less bulky. Still waiting for Asus to release their Nexus 7 accessories here in the UK...

OK- Some Minimal~ist Cases

It's so funny how every time we get a new phone, the accessories subforum explodes.
Nothing in the DEV Section. LoL.
We're all so antsy to do something with our new phones we don't know what to do with ourselves. LoL
Ok back to business.
i found a couple of these that I personally like and would purchase.
#1 TUP Bumper Case only. Provides maximum protection in the Minimalist category
#2 Slim Slim book-cover case.
The brilliant thing about this case is that it replaces your battery cover. So it is not an additional cover on top of your phone. Look closely, it's a BATTERY DOOR replacement with a wrap-around cover to dress up the front. Excellent design!
#3 Magnetic Book-Cover Case. [/u]
Ok, this one DOES cover the entire back of the phone. It will be the bulkiest of the bunch here. It's gota magnetic clasp to keep the case cover closed on top of the phone. Looks nice.
#4 ALUMINUM BUMPER
Looks solid.
I'm likely going to purchase the TPU bumper myself because it's a good compromise between minimalism and protection.
What we're really worried about (at least I am) is the bezel getting trashed, or the screen cracking because there wasn't a ledge (or lip) on the front side to absorb the fall.
So, I like the TPU bumper.
Anyway. I thought I would share. Congrats on all new TMO T889 Note 2 owners.
Day 3 with the phone beginning Friday.
It'll be one hell of a switch from my S2.
Nite all

Are there any cases, or just battery cover replacements that add a kickstand? I dont want a flip case or any extra thickness. Just a replacement back with a kickstand. I saw a TPU kickstand for the OG Note, but note the Note II. I love the kickstand on my EVO 4G and dont want to go without one. I saw the Flygrip and I think it looks terrible and you cant set your phone flat on a table with that. Something like this would be perfect.

I just received that case and it seems fine for my needs. The phone is big enough that I don't need excessive extra bulk Has a little bit of a textured finish where you would have your hands, so it certainly feels way more secure vs. no case!

Fosmon HYBO SK Hybrid Kickstand[Amazon]
---------- Post added at 03:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:42 PM ----------
So sad that not a single Brick and Mortar store has anything for the phone.
T-Mobile has nothing for the T-MO version, and they don't even know when they'll get anything. They didn't even have the white Note 2...
I just need a simple case to make by until anything worthwhile appears...
I ordered the TPU hybrid with kickstand (link above) from Amazon, but estimated delivery is next Friday...
Has anybody found anything for the Note II at any retailer in the US?
By the way, I purchased No. 1 and it broke after 4 weeks. The plastic is cheap.

Case/Screen Protector for s6 edge

So i've had my edge for about 2-3 weeks now and still don't have a case/screen protector for it.
I am very picky about cases so I would like it if some of you guys can give a review of the ones you have.
I don't want anything that adds to much weight and would like a case with a good grip on it.
As for the screen protector I am probably going to wait to buy a tempered glass one. But if you know of a good cheap one please post the link as well
thank you!
You look up the urban armour gear yet? Personally I don't like how it looks, but it's light, grippy, and has a military drop certification thing.
You can also look around the case threads for something that meets your expectations.

Hey. Was just wondering if there was anything special you had to do to get this to work properly. I grabbed one similar to it but it doesn't do anything when closed, just a big faded piece of plastic. I got this one:

It's a bit baffling to me and I've tried all the things I can think of but no-go.

Crappiest protectors ever. Bought three. For my G4 and Nexus 7 and for an SGS4. Refunded all of them.
Even if they offered a 100% discount I would still not be interested. As with all things though: YMMV :good:

Thanks. I always just use those eBay screen protectors, you know, pack of 6 for 2 bucks. They work SO well and they're SO cheap! I used to use those Zagg ones way back when I had Blackberries, haha. I didn't like the yellow peel on them. Plastic 3 layer protectors are the way to go.

Yeah? I've applied a few tempered glass protectors, but apart from my own inability to correctly place them, the ones that have gone on without any issues usually produce a problem when I put on a case when I go for a run. The edges of the case put pressure on the protector and lift up the edges sooner or later and I get dust under there. I have yet to have any issues with the plastic sceen protectors. Not to mention, I go through like 4 of them every time due to dust in my house (pets and such), it's impossible for me to find a perfectly still and clean workspace here! hahaha. :good:

Loca Glue and some random screen protector off amazon

I hate not having some type of screen protector on my phone, and really didn't want to wait for better solutions. Whitedome was just too expensive and i tend to break protectors often. So i went a head and tried out loca glue with a clear glass protector. The glass protector had adhesive on the outter edges. prolly why i had a lil bit of bubbles on mines on the upper right. Came out not bad imo. Responsiveness is great.

probably if you applied heat, the glue would melt, but depending on the glue of course. I am curious to know.
I would cover the earpiece with tape or something, really easy way to avoid getting loca glue in it.

Thanks to the info. Just completed my installation of a tempered glass with LOCA and used 70% Alcohol and worked wonders to remove excess.
Looks great, any dot matrix on the screen you used? hows the clarity?
I'm in the UK and have the Whitestone kit. It has one spare tube of glue. I assume you could use the kit with any clear tempered glass? Happy to sell it for £12 inc shipping in the UK. Paypal payment. First PM gets it.
If the tempered glass breaks how difficult is it to remove loca and the glass from the phone
Is there any video showing the process?
Anyone know of an amazon TGSP in the UK without Dots?
how long do you keep the phone in the UV light?
interesting, thanks for sharing

We're not talking about the Whitestone i think everyone is interested in knowing how easy or hard it is to remove loca 2500 vs 1000. Who knows or cares what Whitestone uses.

Excuse the f*** out of me - he was asking about removing the Loca glue from the screen when the protector was taken off, and since they use a grade of Loca I'm willing to bet the outcome is the same where the glue stays on the screen protector as long as you can get the screen protector off OK.
Grow up and use inference.
Edit: And pay attention to what question was answered, not just what was said.
