Screen Recording with System Audio in EMUI 8.2
One of my favorite features of EMUI has always been the built-in screen recorder. With EMUI 8.2 they have improved this feature by letting you choose the audio input while you are recording. You can use your phone's microphone or you can select the system audio. Use system audio for recording games, streams, video chats, and anything else where you'd need the original audio source.
To activate screen recording, hold power + vol up. Then you will be asked to select your audio input. There is no limit to the amount of time that you can record, so just make sure you have enough space. I made a 1:20:00 recording and it ended up being 2.6GB.
Your recordings will save as a 590x1280p resolution .mp4 file. The notch at the top is blacked out for a better recording btw.

can we change recording resolution and bitrate and stuff?
No screen record feature in honor play
Hi people, I ve been searching for how to activate screen record on my honor play that runs emui 8.2X. I realised there is no such feature on my phone. However I have seen some videos on YouTube with tutorials on the topic and the honor play phones used for the tutorials have this feature. What could be wrong?
On emui 9 it is available when you press power+volume up, not really sure about 8.2

This is an article I've been meaning to write for a little while now, since audio on the Ubuntu part of the Atrix is a bit tricky.
The basic idea is this: when in lapdock mode, it would be nice to have a music player that's designed for that form factor. As such, a decent starting point is the default GNOME music management program for Ubuntu 9.04: Rhythmbox.

However, after installing Rhythmbox, three plugin errors pop up. Two of them don't matter much to me (the jamendo and the Magnatune Store ones) and can be disabled, but cover art should work. A bit of Google footwork reveals that installing python-gst0.10 fixes that (and the stores too).
Unfortunately, an attempt to then play a FLAC causes... playback with no sound. Based on a previous post, pulseaudio appears to serve as the audio backbone. Rhythmbox, on the other hand, uses GStreamer, so that connection might not be working properly.
Another Google search ends up bringing up a wiki page that suggests that gnome-media needs to be installed so that we can run gstreamer-properties.
But, the pulseaudio plugin supposedly isn't installed. So, gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio needs to be installed as well.
And, then, finally! It's possible to play music via Rhythmbox! This should also allow any other GStreamer-based programs to output sound as well.
P.S. Yes, I like the occasionally bad joke, as the title implies.
who listens to flac media files anyways
awesome, thanks!
and as you suspected it does fix sound in other apps, like pidgin.
hope you don't mind i added it to my list.
Does anyone know of any way I can record video at a lower res? I know slow-mo uses 768x432 but I'd like to be able to use a res like this when recording normally. I like to send a lot of videos on Whatsapp without having to compress, so if I know I'm going to want to send a friend a moment I've recorded I will usually just record using a low-res since the Android version of Whatsapp doesn't compress unfortunately. Any camera apps that can record at different res?
This is really my only frustration...I know HTC have some kind of compression software in the phone too because when you create a Zoe highlight, it reduces the res of the video to 720p and makes it around 12MB at 30 seconds long. A normal 30 second video is much larger than this...I just want to find a simple way to share videos either by recording them in a low res or easily compressing them on the fly from the phone.
Any suggestions? I miss the additional resolution options my S3 had. I'm not wanting to go as low as the MMS quality option but I don't need 720p all the time either when I want to share something.
Use some sort of 3rd party recording app. For example the dashcam app I use, VideoRegPro, lets you record in different resolutions/bitrates.
See these video resolution settings

My sister managed to make it work.
What she did is

3. Permissions
4. Microphone
5. Click on 3 dots on the right hand corner and press show system
6. Scroll down until you find screen recording and make sure its enabled.

You can use the built-in screen recorder app. Click on sound source and click on system sounds. See pictures below

will it pick up my voice too?
haven't had the chance to test it since I updated to MIUI 11, but on MIUI 10 no sound at all would be picked up during whatsapp video calls. had to use an external mic recorder and sync the sound manually, but that would pick up only my voice...
There are a lot of generic call recording apps in the app store that will achieve this - it being over whatsapp isn't an obstacle at all, and the few I looked at support record outgoing calls (IE. your voice)
as suspected, video is recorded but no sound at all during whatsapp video calls
any other ideeas?
turns out it doesn't work for any app I tested once I start a video call.
no audio at all is recoreded.
Same issue here. My settings are as described above, but Whatsapp sound is not being recorded, neither the other person or myself.
I think it's because of the audio permission used by Whatsapp, so the app recorder could not access the audio. I use Vidma recorder, and it works well on my Android 10 device.
Try it out and see if it helps. Here is the store link, and here is for the lite version
Hello,
I bought a pixel 5a device 1.5 months ago. Frankly I have to say Phone speed , image quality , sound quality , ram management , battery backup, display everything is super fine for me . But unfortunately my pixel 5a's camera have some major issues . I didn't find any solutions for these issues though I mailed google support team several time also report an issue through feedback apps but no luck. My issues are :
1. Whenever I'm going to take a photo in low might mode or room light there's some (maybe 3-4) bars appear in my camera screen which is called as camera shutter speed mark.
2. In 4k mode video recording I'm not able to record a video more than 1.20 -1.30 minutes . After 1.30 minutes it shows that my device is too hot close camera until device is cools off.
so I want to know is there anyone who also facing the same issues like me ? and what is the solutions for these issues?
Thank You .

The overheating in 4k is a common issue from my understanding. My solution unfortunately was to switch video to 1080. It seemed to resolve that issue but needs to be fixed. I'm not a huge fan of 4k video, but know others have it. If a product offers a feature that feature shouldn't be crippled by hardware shortfalls.
