Does anyone know of any way I can record video at a lower res? I know slow-mo uses 768x432 but I'd like to be able to use a res like this when recording normally. I like to send a lot of videos on Whatsapp without having to compress, so if I know I'm going to want to send a friend a moment I've recorded I will usually just record using a low-res since the Android version of Whatsapp doesn't compress unfortunately. Any camera apps that can record at different res?
This is really my only frustration...I know HTC have some kind of compression software in the phone too because when you create a Zoe highlight, it reduces the res of the video to 720p and makes it around 12MB at 30 seconds long. A normal 30 second video is much larger than this...I just want to find a simple way to share videos either by recording them in a low res or easily compressing them on the fly from the phone.
Any suggestions? I miss the additional resolution options my S3 had. I'm not wanting to go as low as the MMS quality option but I don't need 720p all the time either when I want to share something.
Use some sort of 3rd party recording app. For example the dashcam app I use, VideoRegPro, lets you record in different resolutions/bitrates.
See these video resolution settings

As you'll be able to see in the pic, in low lights or even a bit of light the camera has very much noise like burning fire no matter what mode I am using superior auto or manual but when I change ISO to 400 the noise tends to almost disappear but still does, so by not messing things up is this a common software issue? I had tried several camera apps all are the same is this software or hardware/lens issue? I am running on latest 2.257 firmware

Erm, could you post a few actual pictures please? The viewfinder does NOT display the quality of eventual images as it does not apply any processing. The view from the viewfinder will always be hella-noisy. (that's a term, right? Down with the kids, me )
Actual results can be as good as this:

I have been using Snapchat frequently, but I have noticed that ever since a month ago, when I specifically record videos on Snapchat, there is a black bar on the top and bottom, I am assuming the aspect ratio is off? You can't change the camera settings via the Snapchat app, so I was wondering what could be causing this...
It takes pictures fine though. Really would like to fix this issue, as it is awkward sending a video via Snapchat with black bars making it look like as if I am using some type of ancient phone...
Can you send a screenshot so that we can see what you are seeing? AFAIK it may be an update affecting video

Sorry I just saw this! So I took a random picture of the Chicago Skyline via Google Images (if for some reason this post gets flagged, the original picture can be found here: http://monkeywrenchplumbers.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/IMG_44852.jpg).
Anywho, this is how videos on Snapchat turn out (again, I didn't take this picture!) but basically, imagine that picture was a normal 10 second video on Snapchat, that is how the video is usually outputted as, with the two black bars:

Screen Recording with System Audio in EMUI 8.2
One of my favorite features of EMUI has always been the built-in screen recorder. With EMUI 8.2 they have improved this feature by letting you choose the audio input while you are recording. You can use your phone's microphone or you can select the system audio. Use system audio for recording games, streams, video chats, and anything else where you'd need the original audio source.
To activate screen recording, hold power + vol up. Then you will be asked to select your audio input. There is no limit to the amount of time that you can record, so just make sure you have enough space. I made a 1:20:00 recording and it ended up being 2.6GB.
Your recordings will save as a 590x1280p resolution .mp4 file. The notch at the top is blacked out for a better recording btw.

No screen record feature in honor play
Hi people, I ve been searching for how to activate screen record on my honor play that runs emui 8.2X. I realised there is no such feature on my phone. However I have seen some videos on YouTube with tutorials on the topic and the honor play phones used for the tutorials have this feature. What could be wrong?
On emui 9 it is available when you press power+volume up, not really sure about 8.2

I dont know WHY & HOW..... on my redmi note seven with Open Camera apk when i disable the option "Use Camera2 API" i am able to
record video in 4K resolution and FPS up to 120.
All im asking is if some of you could try it and give the results back because as far as i know this is not supported. Thanks a lot
How to
Download Open Camera.apk
Select Video mode and then go to settings
Scroll down and Disable Camera2 API after that
Tap Video settings...
Set the resolution Highest: 4K Ultra HD 3840X2160
Set Video frame rate from 60 - 120
Exit the settings and try video mode with 4K 60++FPS
You will either get an error or you will record a video.
Will try, will report later
Works?

It's only the app that will show as if it were shooting in 2160p60, but if you look at the file afterwards, I'm sure it's just gonna be 2160p30.

Hello,
I bought a pixel 5a device 1.5 months ago. Frankly I have to say Phone speed , image quality , sound quality , ram management , battery backup, display everything is super fine for me . But unfortunately my pixel 5a's camera have some major issues . I didn't find any solutions for these issues though I mailed google support team several time also report an issue through feedback apps but no luck. My issues are :
1. Whenever I'm going to take a photo in low might mode or room light there's some (maybe 3-4) bars appear in my camera screen which is called as camera shutter speed mark.
2. In 4k mode video recording I'm not able to record a video more than 1.20 -1.30 minutes . After 1.30 minutes it shows that my device is too hot close camera until device is cools off.
so I want to know is there anyone who also facing the same issues like me ? and what is the solutions for these issues?
Thank You .

The overheating in 4k is a common issue from my understanding. My solution unfortunately was to switch video to 1080. It seemed to resolve that issue but needs to be fixed. I'm not a huge fan of 4k video, but know others have it. If a product offers a feature that feature shouldn't be crippled by hardware shortfalls.
