Android System Dump of device codenamed chef_sprout - Motorola One Power Guides, News, & Discussion

I was searching for development related stuff and came acreoss these system dumps of the device codenamed "Chef_sprout"
As it was listed as an Unknown android one device in the XDA post for Google's official AR Core Supported devices, I guess it was pretty much the Motorola One Power
The links are as follows, feel free to experiment!
Link 1
Link 2
Both of them possibly have the same files. I don't have the device yet and to this day there is no word of bootloader unlockability from motorola. (I spammed their forums and twitter, yet no reply! ._.)

Also, OFFICIAL TWRP
Also, Official TWRP exists!
Link
The kernel source they used is here.

As official pie fastboot is available, can you dump that to GitHub or anywhere? I don't have a pc to do that! That would be helpful. Thanks in Advance!

can anyone please explain to me what are these dump files and what is their use anyway?

[Tool] Compile/Decompile Source

Let me start off by saying I am not a dev. I just thought this tool may be useful to those that are.
It compiles, decompiles, and builds source code. The thing that caught my eye is in the list of supported devices for decompile it said
"Currently supports : Any Device and any Android version."
Maybe hoping to decompile source from honeycomb is being a little optimistic but It may still help.
Link with documentation explaining what it is

[LIST] Atrix 4G Software Mirror List

This is a cumulative list of download locations and mirrors for Atrix 4G software including but not limited to ROMs, Tools, Kernels and SBFs.
If you would like have your software mirrored securely and posted here, please contact me.
All mirrors provided by gitbrew.org
Please donate to keep the mirror and backup servers alive.
Note: Gitbrew takes no credit for the software mirrored. All credit goes out to the developers here at XDA and elsewhere.
Note to mods: Could we please get a sticky? There has been many posts where people ask for links, this should solve that.
Twitter | Paypal
UPDATE: A fully maintained mirror list can be found at www.gitbrew.org/atrix/
Tools such as RSD Lite can be found here - www.gitbrew.org/android/
Much appreciated. Might be a good idea to state that certain links aren't for the Bell Atrix
Ive got them all hosted on my server also
Added Bell warning and updated OP with Kernel Source and Webtop Source.
Bumpdate
Included link for the gitbrew/atrix mirror list
Hopefully we get a Bell SBF on there soon...
This is the second time when I was downloading a file from a slow free host and meanwhile downloading I find out the file is in www.gitbrew.org/atrix/ only to download it faster regardless of the head start of the first download! haha!
MANY THANKS!
BOOKMARKED!
How about you add the Telstra SBF which is compatible with the Bell Atrix?????
Remember u4.1.42??
this was much overdue.....nice to have a single stop where we can get all software, much thanks!
http://gitbrew.org/atrix/ has all the sbfs.
the overclock module doesnt work yet. Might want to note that in initial post.
This is a worthless thread.. extremely outdated, a copy of clowns.
I request a delete.

[L1-II,L3-II,L4-II,L5-II] Source Codes Released

I'm not a developer and i've just arrived into the LG world with the new LG L4-II, a slightly smaller and cheaper version of the L5-II, but with exactly the same base hardware.
I have already rooted it using the tutorial here, available for the L5-II, but i've yet to see any ROM development for this new line of devices, so i decided to share a link with the community that shows that the full Source Code for these devices has already been released by LG.
I hope it will be useful for the developers, so that some day in the near future we see some custom Roms for these new devices.
https://www.lg.com/global/support/o...tegoryId=CAT00000001&osCategoryId=CAT00000002
Cheers to all.
Thank you about the link and the information. I do hope someone takes the second generation ( II ) of the L models seriously. Almost no one is working which makes most of us sad
Could you be so kind to give me a link to the rooting tutorial? And may be the steps you've followed? Because I want to root my phone too.
Thanks and cheers to all guys who share useful info and modded roms with us!
thanks for this man. it helps a lot
BL unlock needed!
This is kind of useless, untill we get bootloader unlock. I've managed to build recovery.img for MT6575 chipset with some tools and also flashed it to E440, but bootloader is blocking the recovery boot due to security reasons, but boots in normal mode(Android)... i can share recovery.img if someone need it.
Update: I have boot.img and bootloader image, too - everithing except /system and /data
Added: Ops... My bad. now I think it is kernel related security check, will take a look at the kernel source and try again. I'm not a DEV, just playing.

[Q] HTC M8 to dual boot Android and Windows

Hi Everyone
Just read on several sites how the latest model for Verison will Dual boot into Windows 8.1 and Android.
Is there a way to add this to the existing / original Android M8
Where did you read that?
Theres no way they would release a verison with 2 operating systems especially when android has been widly available for the device. Theres currently no version of a bootloader that has the right environment for windows adding an android boot to there bootloader "to try and even get back to android" Unfortunetly android is open sourse and windows is not, they would have to release there sourcecode to the developing world if they wanted to dual boot with android and they wont. so its up to us to exctract it on our end to make android 's boot loader able to dual boot into windows and hopefully find a way to get back.

it's not the source code which Needs to be released...it's the bootloader which Needs to be extracted and opened to get it working on the android Version! and that's difficult unless someone like cotulla will work on it!
Agreed im just saying we wouldnt need to extract it if they just handed it to us to work with and i hope cotulla does!

From http://www.anandtech.com/show/8390/htc-announces-the-htc-one-m8-for-windows
For some users the most exciting prospect of the HTC One (M8) for Windows may come from the fact that it shares the same hardware as the One (M8). It's possible that the developer community will be able to load the firmware from the HTC One (M8) onto the device in a dual boot configuration with Windows Phone 8 so users can switch between the operating systems as they please.

This is one of those, "Well it might be possible to if developers can figure it out" quotes. As the others have posted, there will be no absolute easy way to do this and a lot of the pains will be on the bootloader side. If someone DOES happen to figure it out, I don't see it happening for a LONG time (This also counts as hope for someone to prove me wrong ). We can only be hopeful that HTC failed to lock down something they should have done.
The HD2 was like the holy grail and I don't see that same sort of configuration happening again.
Htc has in m8 wp8.1 version something like s-off for android devices...in one m8 wp8.1 forum there is a thread where a guy is writing about the whole thing why it won't be that easy to mod the OS etc
I'm a daily "hourly" reader of engadget and they have posted about the version with windows but Verison is not releasing a dual boot version it is up to us to make that happen! Read alittle more carfully before making assumptions. Its possible "maybe" but its allot of work as snickler said its saying whats possible not whats out. Also im with One-M8-Master on this one, check out the thread it should clear a few things up on the boot loader side. lets all hope someone gets lucky and does it!

In another thread, this has been released. here
I moved this thread back to One Q&A since the moderating team decided that's where it belongs, but I'm closing it since we now have a single discussion thread for porting Windows Phone 8 to the current m8s. Please continue the discussion there.
Thanks,
