A question to the manufacturers of custom firmwares. - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

Dear Manufacturers. You are welcome... Do the fingerprint sensor work. None of the custom works.
I see no point in your customs without the normal operation of this sensor.

What Custom without MOTO??? Do together with MOTO-functional. Without him, it's dumb gnusmas.
And if that's not possible, don't do anything. Stok and so beautiful,
or cut your hands and cut your brains out...

Great input, just what this forum needs.

all rom custom I tested works fine, just does not work if you came from nougat and install a rom based on oreo, install the latest oreo by fastboot and test the custom rom based on oreo

your phone is faulty one bro, my fingerprint and nfc works all across custom roms

I try everything.. From custom oreo, pie and everything is working fine. I think your phone is faulty.
Here I attached some screenshot from lineage 15

What is the best stable and working rom atm

Hi guys. I'm looking for refreshment to my g5s plus. Since I bought it I'm very satisfied with this device. I'm using old ground zero VALIDUS oreo 8.1 rom (version 1.5) and i was totally satisfied with its features. Like every Android, after 6months+ it started lagging sometimes. I've got no time to try every rom.
Can u share your opinion if u tried multiple roms?
From what I've read pie builds are not working perfectly yet, right? Are they any better from 8.1 though? Should I try any?
My main requirement is substratum to be working on the rom.
I'm considering picking latest build of oreo validus if Noone suggest anything.
Btw. My Google maps lost function to show the direction I'm facing(this triangle thing) . Any ideas? Tried basic solutions like reinstalling another versions. Can it be caused by rom itself? (unfortunately I don't remember when I lost that function).
I'm using a unofficial LineageOS ROM (Android Pie) Here's the link if you want to test it out, but yeah there's also This ROM, I tested Oreo, but not Pie

Who will keep the stock Oxygen ROM on the 7pro ?

I´m using android phones since 2010, the first Android Version i started with was 1.6 Donut, and i´ve always had a custom rom running on all my phones, because i was missing features, performance sucked, etc ...
Now i think it´s time for a change ! Oxygen 9.5.4. really fits my needs, i don´t miss anything important, only a root based/magisk adblocker i used on omni (but i don´t wan´t to unlock the bootloader this time because widevine L1 would be gone )
I´ll change to the beta programm when it´s available to get early access to Android Q , but that´s it, no more custom ROMS for me this time .
Most things are achievable without root nowadays (Pixel Launcher with bridge, Youtube Vanced , etc) and i´m tired of daily /weekly flashing of custom ROMS and dealing with their bugs and not yet implemented functions ...
So, what is your opinion on that? Will you keep Oxygen or switch to your favourite custom ROM ? (When it´s available)
Think i might keep mine rooted+stock+substratum... But the stock android looks very good atm with LS customizations and a few other customizations + i like the pixel launcher where the searchbar gets these cool animations of what the google webpage has...

I will keep oxygen os I have the T-Mobile version of this phone but will switch to global oxygen os and flash the nolimits magisk rom
I'm looking forward to Renovate ICE rom. It's stock Oxygen OS but with a load of useful customisations and cosmetic theming options.
Yes you lose Widevine L1 but you get the best of OOS that you can't get on source built custom ROMS. It's a nice balance for me
The good thing about a bootloader unlocked device is choice.. can flash custom ROM anytime we want and change back to stock anytime also.. I'm actually quite ok with Oxygen OS as it is but can't help flashing custom ROMs when I see a good one up.. with OnePlus we have a choice but more and more manufacturers are making it very difficult for us to have that choice.. I've dumped S 10+ for that very reason and sticking with OnePlus stock for now
I'm going to keep a rooted stock rom, but will flash the global rom for faster updates once I get this bootloader unlocked.
That will all depend on whether we get fully functional FP reader for me. If we do then I think the phone will rock with a good custom rom in it.

That's why you should feed back testing info to the devs so they can fix them. They're not a massive corporation and they ain't getting paid to compile these roms.
Stock/root/substratum for a while I think. This is my first OnePlus device, want to play thoroughly first.

good point, as i remember there were some problems with some oneplus devices and FP reader !
i used omni rom on my oneplus 5t before and really loved it, but it took a lot of weekly builds until everything was implemented and working fine ... but then it was my favourite ROM
but for now i really will try to keep stock Oxy , i really like it and i´m tired of flashing and waiting for features ...
by the way, Arnova´s newest GCAM works fine on stock Oxy ... https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog414/
Once we see a Pixel Experience rom I'll be switching for sure.
I'm definitely keeping my phone stock. Once I'm able to unlock the bootloader, then I'm going to the Global version. With the 6T, custom ROMS was having issues with the fingerprint scanner until about two months ago.
I was a flashoholic from the Droid X all the way to the Nexus 6P days but since getting the OnePlus 5 and then the 6, they were the only phones I never felt the need to flash a custom Rom. I won't be likely work this either. I unlock, TWRP, custom kernel and root the instant I get my phones but that's all I need anymore. OOS is more than fine
OxygenOS is great I have stayed on OxygenOS since oneplus 3
I will eventually flash a custom ROM ??
Im also surprised of how well OxygenOS is working and fits needs. Nevertheless I will try and use custom Roms. Just hope they run on 90 hz and the scanner works and also the selfie cam, otherwise I will stick to OOS.
One more who stays on OOS here, mainly because of immersive gestures support (even android Q still has his ugly navbar). But I rooted it on the second day, second because thought having L1 is kinda nice, but after discovering that even with L1 NETFLIX only outputs 720p I decided to unlock, magisk it and install adaway.
Waiting for pixel experience
I had a lot of problems caused by root on my current SGS9+
- not working Google Pay (had to do weird things to get it working)
- some banking apps displaying root warning and won't work or won't let me login by fingerprint
- lost some of the best Samsung features: Secure Folder for example
All I wanted root for was to remove bloatware...since OnePlus don't have much bloatware I only need AdBlock...for adblock I found 2 nice methods:
- https://blokada.org/
For YouTube ads we have Vanced thing and I love it so...overall I don't think I will root my next device (which will be OP7Pro in a few days )
I will most likely keep OOS as well, it's been good to me and the first time I have ever remained on stock was starting with my 6T.
I just wish substratum overlays would show without having to reboot. Other than that, I have no issues with stock.
staying with oxygen as usual; it's very nice

Most stable ROM as today.

Hello, guys! Right now I'd like to be able to use Gcam and with MIUI this isn't possible, so I'd like to have recommendations about roms.
I have tried a few ones, but they always have problems. Battery, deep sleep, sd card problems, etc.
So... In your opinion and experience which one would be the best AOSP ROM as today? If possible.... without even a single bug.
My device is a Redmi Note 4x Snapdragon. I have TWRP and root with magisk.
I use mobile data, bluetooth with my car, sd card and I'd like to have a fast fingerprint sensor.
Thank you in advance.
Official LOS 16.0 - can't go wrong.
Bro.. You're in the wrong place.
Try Havoc OS, one of the best ROM I've used till date

Custom AOSP ROMs

I dont know if any thread was before or not.
But since android 10 is out, and lots of custom roms based on android 10 are out for our device, i am curious why no one aosp custom rom is enough stable? Even official versions.
I have tested several custom roms as Pixel, Evox, Lineage, MSM extended, Corvus, IOn, Paranoid, .... and all of them have problems. Most of them is even clean flash, all formated, clean flash, if needed miui vendor flashed good one. all have problem, some lose voice call conections, some if we are on wifi and we go in town, and when come back home, phone doesnt connect automatic on wifi , we have to connect manualy. and such simple problems what are really simple.
I thank to all developers who makes efforts to custom roms, but why each rom with each new build is as not same god is even worst?
First i am not fan of MIUI, but nytime after some times of using custom aosp roms, it was days or even just hours or even minutes, i switch back to miui custom roms.

From Stock Nougat to Custom ROM (Guide)

Hi!
I got a T815 running stock Nougat and I would like to put TWRP and a custom ROM, probably Lineage because I see no option for Pixel Experience.
Would you point me to a good tutorial please? I am not an expert, but I have customs roms on most of my phones, including the actual PocoPhone
I came across the Lineage tutorial that is great, but on my tablet I do not see the option to enable OEM unlock (phone is used and today I enabled developers options), I fear that without that enablement, process will fail.
Please, try to help me ^^
I made my own guide, hoping to help other people... LINK
