Showing "charging rapidly" - Moto G5S Plus Questions & Answers

After Oreo update when I plugin my Moto G5S plus with the turbo charger it says "turbo charger connected" then on the lockscreen for a minute it says "TurboPower Connected" then it changes to "charging rapidly" . Is it an issue or something can anybody tell me or something they added in Oreo update.

Have you tried switch off your phone at 1% and see how much time it take go to 100% full it should be around 1 hour 40 minute. I havent tested it myself. But it takes around 2 hours approx from below 15% with WiFi on and me using it time to time while charging.

yes i tried and battery charge slow 2hour 30min and wifi is not working now so i have to use data pack for gaming i only game nothing else.

[Q] Battery Drn

I bought a Galaxy Tab 7 Plus on Friday and spent the weekend adding movies, music, etc..So far, I love the device.
Last night I set it on my desk with about 86% battery left but did not plug it in and did not turn it off. I simply let it sleep...
When I got up this AM, it was unresponsive as the batter had completely drained. I have no way of knowing why this happened since the device went off completelya nd any programs I may have left running were no longer running of course.
Is this normal for an unusde device overnight? Anyone else experience this? Should I return it?
Thank You!

I suppose you also let the WiFi and BT run also ? If yes, then it's absolutely normal If no, you should check what apps you had running in the background... and as a golden rule : use the night to recharge and the day to use it.
Yes thanks. I did leave WiFi on but no BT. I typically do charge my devices overnight but just forgot last night so the batter drain was a little worrisome. I will try it again tonight without WiFi on and see if that makes a difference. Thank You!

Hi,
Not the slightest idea What apps are you running ? What is running in the background ? Basically, I've never heard about ABD having a battery issue, unless your battery is damaged somehow. Maybe you should try a battery-widget to check the system on battery-hogs and/or uninstall everything the reinstalling one by one testing battery lifetime.
Cheers
Hi,
my left my P6200 to charge like 5 hours but it still won't reach 100% full. its only close to 85%. I start charging it around 20%.
Device is off when charging.
any idea how long does it takes to fully charge it?
and another thing is the area around the Sim card and Memory card slots area heats up at the back cover quite easily when use.
anyone experience these?

[Q] Battery Reduces From Full to 80% After Charging?

I bought a new Moto G 2nd gen a week back and I am experiencing this problem from a few days ago.
The battery reduces from 100% to 80% or 75% in minutes after unplugging from the wall socket. WiFi and data were turned off and the brightness was around 20%.
I asked around on the internet and the suggestion received was to calibrate the battery. Is this the solution or is it a battery problem?
The only best solution is to recalibrate your battery using apps found on playstore.....but this method requires ROOT which will cause a warranty void.
The only non NON ROOT method available is discussed on this site :- http://www.androidpit.com/how-to-calibrate-the-battery-on-your-android-device
Hopefully this should fix your battery......:good:
My suggestion would be to let battery run out of juice completely. Let it power off by itself, wait a few minutes and just connect the charger without turning the device on manually. Let it charge to 100%, turn the device on, and see if the issue persists.

Let me quote Monty Pythons argument-scene: YES THERE IS! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQFKtI6gn9Y)
You can charge the Moto G offline without any trouble. The only times i see that this would not work is when the moto g is connected to the pc via usb. There seems to be some problems. But with a normal charger i never had any trouble to charge the moto g without turning it on.
Open up the battery menu & tap the battery graph.... What do you see? If there's any battery drain, you'll see a thick bar in the "awake" section... "WiFi" is on a lot or all the time? Since you got it a week ago, and assuming you aren't rooted, "scanning always available" is ticked in your WiFi settings. Untick it.
If you still have lots of drain, in that particular menu, check which app is eating a lot of battery... If its anything other than screen, phone or android system, *boom*, you found your culprit.
PS - All Moto phones (E, G, G2, X & X2) have a fast discharge between 100 to 80%, but it'll stay at 60-50% for hours on end (with usage).

The "scanning always available" is unticked and the graph shows only screen on taking 2% of the battery. I deleted any recent apps that i installed around the time the problem came to light. I am enclosing a screenshot of the battery discharge graph

Tried it. Didn't work at all. Battery drained by 13%. Also, the battery drains drastically during sleep time, even with battery saver on.

That sudden drop in battery @ 9am.... That's not normal!! Check if you have Google Play Services running a LOT or something related to any other app. If nothing, replace your phone (hoping you haven't rooted and still have warranty)

Yes! Google Play Services is the most battery draining app other than Screen and Android System. What can be done about it?

My phone turns off at 5%

My phone turns off at 5% every time!! The phone is working great. It doesn't turn off randomly but everyday at 5% it turns off and tells me to plug in the charger. After plugging in the charger the phone keeps on showing the battery logo and it turns on after pressing power button a couple of times while the charger is plugged in. What could be the problem? Or is it normal? I remember when i was on stock, the phone used to turn off at 2%. Im using Chroma Rom.

Seems normal to me. The battery condition becomes slowly worse.
When possible don't discharge below 20-30%.
haven't seen one of these in a while. people used to talk about battery calibration, but i'm not sure if it is a real thing.
check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/dying-17-battery-t3062050
The battery on this phone is being let to go very low in the normal 100 - 0 range as it is. As it ages the low end will drop quicker and quicker. The qhd oled they used on this phone is really not nice for the battery. You can buy a new one on aliexpress.
Fixed!

CPU frequency locked at 1.5 GHz after unplugging from power source

Yesterday I found a weird thing, which I have discovered years ago in a Nexus device:
After unplugging, the CPU didn't throttle anymore but got stuck at 1.5 GHz - see the attached screenshot, logged with System Panel 2.
The battery life didn't really suffer so I discovered this only by random when looking into my log history.
There wasn't any app involved, at least I couldn't pin it down to an app. Device didn't get warm either. Bootloader is locked and I have no root (yet).
I made a reboot and then everything went to normal.
From earlier I know there was a bug where CPU got stuck when unplugging the power source while screen off, but I hadn't the time yet to verify this.
Have you experienced this also by any chance?

Don't know as I have the update for 2 hours now.
What application are you using to monitor?
Charged to 100%.
Unplugged the charger
Checked cores with cpuz.
All right, all cores on lowest speed.
May be there was some app messing sround in your phone. Reboot might help

I dont have this problem. If I had it, i would loose some battery % like in your graphic and I always loose 2% max battery after unplugging the device and go sleep, so its probably something on your device. But I'll test it today again.
Charged the phone yesterday to 100% with screen off.
Unplugged the charger from the phone still with screen off.
Screen goes automatically on when you unplugged it, so I turned it off and went to sleep
Again, I lost just 1% battery over 8 hours.

Cannot connect to camera?! Just got mine for 5 hours

Hi, guys,
I just got my Nokia 9 for 5 hours.
After I charge it with Mophie wireless charging pad, the camera dies.:crying:
I have tried reset, cleaning the cache of camera app, recovery-factory reset, but nothing works.
I also tried several camera apks the google store, but they all failed.
Does anyone have a solution for me?
Thanks a lot.
UPDATE:
only the rear cameras fail
Have you tried accessing safe mode and seeing if that works?
I get it sometimes too. I just force close the camera and clear app data. I saw a video from someone at XDA who is having similar issues. Hopefully a software update will fix it.

I have noticed the same thing
Juho Sarvikas tweeted they would be releasing an update that helps with the camera dieing when low power. If your cameras aren't working when 100% power, then you got a different issue. I would take your wireless charger out of the equation just to make sure its not related and use the wired charger it came with.
