Beginning this morning I started receiving full screen pop up ads every 60 seconds. Its been continuous for the last 6 hours. They pop up regardless of any ap I may be using at the time. A few ad examples are attached. My Note 8 is Model SM-950U1, version 4.4.78

I was having similar issue some days back. Please go to settings>Apps and check if there is any application installed at the end of list with no name. Uninstall that one and see if that fixes your problem.
An app u recently installed.. Or visited.. It happened to me.. I l
Cleaned uo history in browser and went through apps
Solved
In my case it was a Call Recorder that I downloaded yesterday. I didn't like it so I uninstalled it about an hour later. However, it seems to have left one program behind, called Phone Services. I uninstalled it today and at the beginning of the uninstall, I got an error message that warned phone services was needed by call recorder. All was well after I uninstalled phone services. Thanks for all the inputs. I appreciate them.
Good you could find the culprit

I have helped people with this before and had a few of these on my note. First, diagnostics.
1. Hold down your power button to bring up your power menu.
2. Hold down on the Power Off icon and it will prompt you to restart your phone in safe mode. Do so and see if the problem goes away.
3-A. If it persists, then you may need to go to your samsung internet browser and clear out all website data.
3-B if the problem stops. Then its a 3rd party app and I would need more information to help you track it down. PM me with your results or questions.

Hi Guys,
This issue has been really p*****g me off over the last two days... so, would reapply appreciate any help on this...
Yesterday or day before, I was just scrolling through the menus of the phone and decided to do a horizontal calibration (i've never done this since the getting the phone about two months back).
Settings > Display > Horizontal Calibration
And ever since I did the calibration, the screen has been really screwing up with me. Basically, what happens is that, a certain area of the screen gets automatically clicked!! This happens to a specific area of the screen. For example, when I get to the home screen from the app drawer, the widget that I normally have in this area gets clicked on for no apparent reason, and then I have to hit the back key to get back to the home screen. This happens about 5 times and then seems to go away for a while. However, it happens all over again when I use the phone after a little while.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
In the attached screen capture of my home screen, I have highlighted the area of the screen where this happens in red. This happens not only from the home screen, but from within any open app as well.... For example, when I view the "my apps" section in the Android Market app, the app that happens to be listed in the above area get automatically selected!!!
I have re-calibrated the screen, re-started the phone and the only thing I've left to do is a hard reset. I'm not too keen on doing this as I don't fancy having to re-install 70+ apps all over again!!
Have any of you guys encountered anything like this ?
Would really really appreciate any help on this as this is really flipping me over!!
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
anyone......?
cmon, am I da first one on XDA to experience this issue?

[Q] Auto Clicking - Sorted
ah! no replied at all!!!
neways, finally got this sorted by having the screen replaced!! luckily the phone is still under warranty... otherwise it would hav cost me around 250$ to get it done apparently (according to the service center guy who did it)!!
tried hard resetting, data+cache wipe and even flashed with a different ROM (darky's).... but nothing worked.... so, finally took it to the service center... luckily those people didn't notice that the phone has been rooted and all that plus, got a gud rappo with one of the technicians over there, so got it back the next day as well....
cheers.....

I'm on Tmobile. Don't have that screen. So maybe it's in the settings somewhere of your carrier?
Not on my Sprint variant.
Anyone has this problem or can suggest something? Anything? It's killing me.

You could start by providing more detailed information. What carrier? What third party apps do you have that relate to contacts/phone?

My phone is Verizon but I use it with T-Mobile. I've looked up all the apps that has access to my contacts and draw over apps and didn't find anything unusual.
I use truecaller but that one has it's own notification.
The picture I attached in my first post shows what is really bothering me
I have Verizon and don't get this
Well finally after a lot of research and tracking apps I finally found what app it is. It's call (efing) reminder app. That is a part of bixby I guess.
Flashlight
Plagued me for 2 weeks and removed apps one by one. As others suspected, it was a flashlight app. It's gone now. App has an icon that several apps use, so I don't remember precisely which one. Not going to reinstall one to be sure. Light House Inc has this icon.
Its App Backup and restore. Uninstall that and the annoying after phone call popups are gone
Had same problem. After uninstalling app backup and restore, everything fine.
I also had same problem but solved it by uninstalling "Bestie".
I also double checked it again after installing and uninstalling again.
Hope it helps.
App backup & restore fix
Hey everybody. I came across this thread when I was trying to fix this issue on my phone. I saw that nopers said if you uninstall the app it will go away which I'm sure would definitely work. I wanted to keep the app tho so this is what I did:
Settings>Applications>App backup and restore>Permissions>slide phone and SMS off
This worked for me on Samsung Galaxy S7 so hope that helps anyone looking for a solution.
Hi everyone
I have a weird problem, when I'm using my phone and let's say on Instagram sometimes when i refresh the feed it's just doesn't.. i doesn't say you don't have internet connection it just won't load the new posts and keeps the loading indicator rotating
Another app is Spotify when it's randomly playing songs that haven't being played before (not cached) it's stops suddenly of loading the next song and resumes after a couple of minutes
Same problem with tinder not loading the incoming messages
Only can be solved by disconnecting and reconnecting WIFI or using cellular data
My phone is fully stock with the least official update
I've checked:
Background restrictions.
When Spotify or Instagram stuck I swhich to another app say YouTube and it's perfectly working and loading, going back to Instagram and it's still stuck and not loading.
WiFi router is not far away from me so the Signal is strong.
Do you have any idea how can I solve this without resetting the phone ?
Thanks
Did it start with csd1 update?
Thanks for the reply
I actually don't remember but here's the version I'm on now
Current version: N960FXXS2CSBA/N960FOXM2CSA2/N960FXXU2CRLT
Having same issue. One UI. Has been an issue since latest update.

In Android Pie v9.0 in app settings you can turn off battery optimization and it should prevent the app from being put to sleep. Maybe this may help. Or if wifi data saver is turned on this can cause issues also. There is one other menu/screen that allows you to change settings of when/why/which apps and how they are controlled by Android to save power and allows apps to be put to sleep after a certain amount of app unused time, or when it predicts that you are not normally using a particular app at a particular time. I cant seem to recall where I saw it or how I got to it but if I track it down I'll be sure to post the info because I think it may be a likely cause or fix for your issue. Only other thing I could figure it could be the modem firmware that your on is buggy and hopefully it will be fixed in a future update.

Here is what I was looking for. You go to settings>device care>tap on battery>tap three dots top right>tap settings. In there is some stuff that may help with your issue.
Thanks for the reply, I've actually already done that I've disabled all the settings related with putting apps to sleep at device care/battery which doesn't solve the issue
Yet i still have to try un-optimizing the apps surly this would lead to battery drain but let's see what happens.
I'll keep you updated with the results
So I have disabled all of power efficiency related settings in device care/battery section
And also disabled doze optimization for the effected
İ can say it's a lot better now but the issue still occurs
I've just taken delivery of a Note 9, and I can't find anyway of configuring the phone so that once the "screen saver" screen has gone dark, one can be aware of a delivered message (if you didn't hear it) without constantly keep "liveing" the phone up with the power button to check.
All my previous Samsung and HTC phones had a little discrete flashing light, which made one aware of any awaiting incoming messages, without having to physicaly constantly check the phone every few minutes, "just in case'!
I hopeing that there is a way to incorporate a feature like this, or it goes straight in the bin?!
You can rule out in battery savings or go the app and set up what you need.my message just pup up.you can even set it as a hidden message ,just a notification

Thanks for taking the time to reply, but I forgot to say that you're dealing with an idiot here!!
I've gone all through the settings menu and turned off anything that relates to saving power, in any shape or form, but still no joy.
As for creating an application to reconfigure the phone, I'll afraid that that is way beyond me, unless you can actually list me a "stage by stage" set of instructions to preform it?
I am quite willing to give you/someone a small fee to do this on my behalf, as it will save me throwing it away. Ta

If you want something more like a Christmas three.Like led on display search for AOE in play store.Needs a lot off rights du to android 10.But you get something like this.
I'm a new Samsung S23+ owner. I bought my S23+ a week ago.
An odd behavior I've noticed is with the button to display all currently running apps. I don't know what it's called; it's on the bottom of the window next to the Home button. It looks like 3 vertical bars. Anyway, I've noticed that if I've only running two or three apps, pressing that button does nothing. I'm used to always seeing all running apps, when I press that button on my old S10. If I've got a half dozen apps running, then it works as I expect it to work. However, I always want it to work.
What's going on? Is there anything I can do about this?
Welcome to XDA.
Try clearing the system cache.
Try this, go to the Samsung Galaxy Store, download the Good Lock family of apps.
You'll especially want Quickstar and in this case Task Changer.
See if this helps.

Sometimes there are weird glitches that don't really mean anything if they don't persist or reappear after a reboot or clearing the system cache.
After almost 3 years on the same load I saw the display page indicator displaying an extra "o+o" after the correct home and second page. There was nothing there as far as another page. Played with homepage settings and tried to delete the phantom page, cleared Samsung One UI Experience cache, still there. More curious than panicked. Finally clearing the system cache or the roboot got rid of the anomaly never to reappear.
It's when you see the noticable system lagging that you have a potentially severe problem that could quickly turn onto a crash even a boot loop. Often the only warning you get.

I haven't tried that. The next time I encounter that behavior, I'll try tapping the Home button, then the 3 buttons. Thank you1
